SHVETA!!!!! Hahahah.. Sorry, I thought I'd just predict the outcome of next week's results :)!!!! Anyway, for all of you out there pro-Mona and pro-Shveta, don't stop your debates...!! May the best woman win! Personally, I'm in favor of Shveta. In all the arguments in favor of Mona, not once have I heard anybody talk about her "dancing" skills being better than Shveta's. It's all about her popularity, her charming face, improvement, weight loss and bubbly personalty. Which is not really the basis for voting for her. Voting for the right person should be done on merit, not because of one's personlity traits.
Maybe that's why a lot of politicians are corrupt.. because we don't vote for who's the better person for the office (true ex. is George W Bush). Somebody mentioned in an earlier post about "having democracy and voting for your favorite".. ., whether its Mona or some "favorite" politician who is not as suitable for office as his opponent, but may be handsome to look at and that's why you're voting for him. But that's not fair, be it politics, corporate or a contest. For this contest, don't go by anything but the actual performances and who really IS the better one... be it Mona or Shveta.
I had posted a commentary on another post recently, and I'm just copying some of it over, below, since that sums up what I feel about the biasness, and explains it all.
Let's say you take an exam at school/college, and you try really really hard to get an A, but you keep getting a "C" or a "B". The teacher, despite you being her favorite, knowing how hard you worked for your exams and how much you've improved since the start of the year, would she be able to raise your grades to give you that "A"? No she can't. Likewise, as good of a dancer as Mona is, she should be judged on her abilities, not on how much work she has done, or how far she has come or how sweet she is.
Shveta is the better dancer.. whether she is trained or not. First of all, just because she dances so well, doesn't mean she is a true professional. I have some friends who are absolutely amazing dancers, but have had no training whatsoever. So there is a difference between what one calls, a "trained dancer" and a "natural dancer." Mona is good too.. actually, i'd say she's great. But I enjoy Shveta's a lot more, just based on her dance, expressions, her overall performances.
Since this is a contest, nothing else but the performances matter. I'll tell you one thing.. I barely watch soaps, so I have no bias whatsoever. I don't care about who is popular, don't know and don't care even if I did. I only watch the dances. On top of that, I don't like to base my opinions on gossip either (like Toby ran off, or Shveta is a trained dancer, or Shveta is a snob, etc), because you don't know how true or false they are. A lot of it could by hype and exaggerations, to raise the publics' sentiments towards the artists. Which is why, I try not to pay attention to all of those little articles of gossip and just form my own opinions based on the performances on that stage.
