dis part has a backdrop set against recent protests in hyd. I don't intend 2 comment, suggest anything about that.. jus using it here as a scene!😳

That evening Asad wanted to meet zoya and clear her misconceptions but she was gone.

The next day he was loitering around charminar when he spotted her. Zoya was helping some kids to cross the road. The kids kissed her cheek after reaching the other side and zoya laughed.

Asad smiled, puri paagal nahi hai zoya, dil ki achhi hai.

She looked up suddenly and their eyes met. He was only a few yards away. As soon as her eyes met his, she snatched them away and began walking off.

Asad yelled for her and was about to run behind her when he heard a loud horn, he ran into an auto rickshaw and was amid huge traffic. Cursing Hyderabad for its heavy population, he marched ahead.

He spotted zoya again, thankfully a few feet away and he ran to catch up with her.

zoya began running, perhaps she was thinking that he's stalking her. The ran and ran and Asad finally caught up with her, only because she stopped. He din't know however that he was standing in the charminar police station (PS).

"zoya ji.. aapse kuch baat karni thi.." he panted, "salaam aaleikum SI saab! ek minute... SI saab aap yahan?"

He scanned his surroundings and was shell shocked. zoya dragged him to PS.

"Sir, yeh ladka mujhe ched raha hai.. " zoya spoke, "look yeh PS ke andar bhi aagaya.."

Asad shook his head, "zoya.. woh aap ruk nahi rahi thi aur mujhe aap se kuch baat.."

"sir, ise arrest kardijiye please.. " zoya demanded firmly, "main FIR likhoongi..."

SI wasn't listening to him, nor did zoya and Asad soon found himself behind the bars. He still had his mobile, and he called up Hafiz, only to get it broken by SI who claimed to be a sincere officer.

It was almost 3pm, Asad was furious. He missed his namaaz, his meeting with bank manager and the SI wouldn't budge. He requested SI that he needed to talk to his sister and the officer agreed. Asad then spoke to Hafiz and waited in his cell.

Around six pm, Hafiz walked in. Followed by Eijaz.

Asad wanted to bang his head on the wall.

Eijaz spoke, " yeh Asad Ahmed khan mera beta hai! woh koi aisi gandi harkat kar nahi saktaa.. use chod dijiye.."

The SI blinked, "oh sure sir.. are Asad mia.. aap ne pehle kyoun nahi bataaya ki aap Eijaz saab ke bete hai?"

"yeh aadmi mere abbu nahi hai.." Asad roared while glaring at Hafiz.

"Asad beta.. aisa mat kaho.. tum mere bade bete ho! khair.. kya hai yeh! aaj pehlibaar hume PS aana pada sirf tereliye. hume yakeen hai beta, aaj tumhari koi galti nahi.. par is tarah sadkon pe jeene ki kya zaroorat hai? humare saath ghar chalo na.." eijaz was teary eyed, almost.

The SI assured him that Asad wouldn't be troubled if the gal comes and settles the misunderstanding and smiled. Hafiz thanked him while Asad stormed off.

Asad was in a bad mood all the night, but he didn't want to upset Aaliya or his ammi.

The next day was friday, an opportunity for him to clear his mind by attending mass prayers at the Mecca masjid.

And so he set off, all alone. He didn't talk with Hafiz or with Zoya. But he would talk to her, yell at her for ruining his life.

He shrugged and offered his prayers. He was descending the steps when he remembered his first spat with zoya. That NRI girl, she had this big mouth.. he should have stayed away from her.

"Bas Asad! ab aur nahi.. us ladki ke baare mein mat soch.. " he chided himself.

Suddenly there was an uproar. Many of his fellow muslims began pelting stones, police were in turn throwing stones. A man informed him that they were all protesting against some arrest of a local leader.

People were running for their lives. Screams and tear gas shell firing filled the air and he spotted her. She was sitting in a corner adjoining the door, clinging to the wall for support. Was she scared?Asad wanted to get way from the spot, reach his home, stay away from the police. But he couldn't. He saw how zoya was struggling to get away and decided to help her.

He ran, carefully avoiding the protesters and offered a hand. Zoya glared at him.

"tum bahar kaise aagaye.. " she tried to get up, her head was bleeding and she collapsed.

"maine kahan na.. aapko akele bahar nahi aana chahiye tha! aur main yahan aap ki madad karne aaya hoon.."

"oh really!? get away from here, oh.. oww gunda kaheeka! neeche utharoo..."

Asad simply lifted her up in his arms and began walking away. Zoya kept yelling, kicking but he didn't care. Upon reaching a deserted street he put her down.

" yeh kya badtameezi hai! you.. main tumhe vaapis jail bhej doongi.. besharam, aur kitni ladkiyon ki zindgi barbaad karoge tum Mr. Asad Khan?"

"stop it! for god's sake zoya... main yahi baat tumhe kal samjhane wala tha! tumne bina soche samjhe mujhe police station mein phasa dia.. aur jaanti ho kitna nuksaan hua? Asad Ahmed khan ko jail jaana pada.. mere abbu ke saamne ek baar phir mujhe jhukna padaa.. unki ehsaan hai jo aaj main yahan hoon.. Ayaan kehta tha ki tum paagal ho, par maine maana nahi! Itna kuch hone ke baad bhi.. maine tumhari madad ki, kyoun ki tum wahan riots ke beech phas gayi thi! maine kabhi kisi ladki ke saath badtameezi nahi ki.. in fact main unse baat nahi kartaa.. us din joh kuch bhi Imaan ne tumse kaha sab jhoot hai! maine use aisa kehne ke liye kahan.."

"par kyoun?"

"kyoun ki mera ek maksad hai.. tumhari faaltu sawal ke jawab dene ka waqth nahi hai mere paas! khudahafiz.."

Zoya watched as he walked away. May be Asad was not that bad. He just saved her right?

Her mobile began to ring, "haan aapi.. main masjid ke paas hoon! ghabraao nahi.. mujhe kisi ne mere gaadi tak chod diya.. I'll see u soon!"

She drove home, her mind thinking about how she misunderstood a good person like Asad.

The next day she went straight to the iraani cafe. After talking to Imaan, she withdrew her complaint with the police and reached Khan's media house.

"Asad mia se mat kehna.. ki maine aapko address dia.. " she remembered Imaan's words.

She needed to talk to Asad and apologise. Hurrying down the corridor in Asad's office she didn't even see who she bumped into.

"aap?" Asad's eyes widened, "mere office mein?"

"I'm sorry.. " zoya said quickly.

"aap yeh kehne keliye mere peeche aagaye?"

"Haan aur thank you bhi.. kal keliye.. "

"kisne aapko yahan bheja.. woh Imaan, hai na?"

"nahi.. Mr. khan meri baat toh suniye.. I'm really really sorry.. maine aapko galat samjha aur meri wajah se aapko bahut nuksaan hua.. I took my complaint back! I'm really sorry mujhe lagaa ki aap ache insaan honge.. phir bhi maine sirf apni dimaag ki suni! "

"its ok, zoya. galati meri thi.. mujhe aapke peeche aisa doudna nahi chahiye tha.."

Zoya laughed and Asad went on, "mujhe lagaa bhi nahi ki main police station mein pahuch gayya.. are aap hasri hai! mujhpe hasne keliyye yaha aayi ho kya?"

"nahi mr. khan.. I'm sorry again!"

"its OK. Aap jaayiye.."

"matlab aapne mujhe maaf kiya?"

"mere paas koi aur option hai kya ?"

"nahi mr. khan... "

"hmm.. chalo maaf kardiya!"

Zoya smiled. That was so kind of him, any other guy would have been plotting to humilate her but Asad did not.

"toh friends?"

Asad blinked as zoya extended her hand.

"jee? yeh aap.. hum .. hum aapke dost kaise? zoya ji..?"

" bas kijiye Mr. Khan.. ab aapki soch ithni puraani toh nahi hai na! yeh mat kehna ki ek ladki aur ladka kabhi dost nahi reh sakte.."

" zindgi ke kuch usool hai... jinhe hum nahi tod sakte.. khudahafiz"

zoya grabbed Asad's arm, "sorry ji. mujhe patha hai! main newyork se hoon iska matlab yeh nahi ki main usoolon ko nahi maanti. Lekin dosti ki ko usool ho sakti hai kya.. please ?"

"par zoya.. log kya sochenge aur.. aap.."

"Mr. Khan log toh sochte hi rehte hai, aap unpe dhyaan mat do! aur aap mere Hyderabad mein pehle dost honge.. please.. warna main yahi samjhoongi ki aapne mujhe maaf nahi kia.. "

"OK.. OK.. Ab aap jayiye .. mujhe kuch kaam hai.."

"toh friends?" zoya asked again, extending her hand.

Asad shook it. He wanted to blame her, but he couldn't. He knew it wasn't zoya's fault. He only could blame the situation.

"friends.. "

He was friends with a girl. Ammi kya sochegi.. aur Ayaan?

"Mr. Khaan.. acha hua aap maan gaye. warna main aapke office ke saamne hadtaal bhi kar sakti thi.. " zoya was laughing.

"jee.. hum baad mein baad karein?"

"hmm.. par kaha?" smart move, zoya.

"jee..?"

"haan jee.. kal milte hai! tank bund pe.. mujhe pataa hai aap har din wahan jogging keliye aate ho!"

Asad raised a brow.

"kya?" zoya asked.

"kuch nahin, zoya ji.. main soch raha tha.. ki ab hum mein se stalker kaun hai..? hmm.."

"woh.. uh.. nahi! Mr. Khan.. main stalker nahi. jus aapi ke saath gayi toh aapko dekha.. I'm an american citizen .. par mein ladkon ka peecha nahi karti.."

It was Asad's turn to laugh, "mazak tha... achha kal milte hai, allahafiz.."

Zoya left the office with a smile, ooh king khan has got some sense of humor.
