"Geet..." Maan said, stopping her from leaving the room by holding her hand. "You may want to cover that" pointing to the love bite on her neck "otherwise, Rajji will find another excuse to tease you". Geet blushed and re-arranged her hair and dupatta to cover his mark of passion on her as she called it.

Maan followed Geet downstairs to the dining room where everyone else was finishing breakfast.

"Good AFTERNOON didi" Rajji said teasingly, ducking her head in time to avoid a slap from Taiyji, however, not managing to escape Geet's foot which landed on hers with force. "Ouch didi...I was only teasing...no need to become a goonda on me!" Rajji whined rubbing her foot. The last comment made Maan chuckle, since he had been at the receiving end of his wife's goonda gardi.

"Maanji, Geet sit. I will bring your breakfast. Toast and black coffee for you Maanji?" Rano asked expectantly.

"Yes Mummyji. Thank you" Maan replied, sitting down beside Geet.

"And Geet..aloo paranthas for you, right?" Rano continued

"Yes Mumma. You know me so well" Geet beamed with happiness at the thought of her favourite food.

After serving Maan, Rano approached Geet with her paranthas. "Geet, after today, who will I make these paranthas for? Nobody else likes them here" Rano said sadly.

Geet looked at her food and then her mother. "Mumma, I will miss you so much" Geet sobbed getting up to hug her mother tightly. "I have decided. I am staying here with my Mumma. I am not leaving with him!" Geet said dramatically, pointing an accusing finger at Maan. Maan looked at the scene before him with amusement. He witnessed such nautanki from his Daadi, but Geet seemed to have surpassed his Daadi's abilities. "Good help you Maan...one was not bad enough?" Maan thought.

"Geet don't say that. You are married now, and your place is with Maanji" Rano said trying to calm Geet down.

"But my paranthas?" Geet whined.

"Geet are you worried about your paranthas or your mother?" Maan asked trying not to laugh. "Mummyji, I have a solution" Maan said trying to be serious, "keep making the paranthas and I will arrange for a courier to deliver them to Geet everyday"

Geet saw the amusement in Maan's face and realised he was making fun of her. She looked at him in mock disgust, turning her face away from him saying "Kati"

"Geet, seriously...kati? Are you five years old?" Maan asked in amazement.

"Kati has no age, Mr Khurana...Oh, I am surprised that you remember what kati is at YOUR AGE" Geet said, causing Maan to choke on his toast.

"Did she just bring my age into this??" Maan looked at her with surprise "She might as well be five, the way she acts" Maan thought shaking his head.

"...and stop trying to engage me in conversation" Geet continued.

"Well stop talking then, Mrs Khurana..." Maan chuckled.

"Haaaw" was Geet's only response.

Rano and Taiyji watched Maan and Geet's banter in amusement, thinking "God help Maan's Daadi..she will have to be referee between these two!"

Before either Maan or Geet could say another word, Maan's phone rang again. "Oh God, not again" Maan groaned out loud.

"Kya hua, Maanji. You seem disturbed" Rano asked with concern.

"It's nothing. I seem to be very popular today" Maan said sarcastically. "Please excuse me, I need to get this call" Maan said exiting the dining room. After a few minutes he was back and Geet was alone in the room finishing her breakfast.

"Geet" he called softly.

"Yes" she said sharply not looking at him. She still had not forgotten his teasing earlier.

"Maan, your sherni is angry...approach with caution" Maan reminded himself.

"Geet, I need to go out. I have to go to meet the union leader to talk about some issues the workers have. Unless these issues are resolved, we won't be able to leave HP" Maan said apologetically

"Which union leader?" Brij asked as he entered the room. Brij had overheard Maan talking to Geet especially the part about them needing to stay in HP if his negotiations did not go well. No that would not suit Brij. The sooner they left, the better for him, so he decided to help.

Maan eyed Brij suspiciously "Suresh Singh"

"Oh, Suresh. He is a good friend of mine. Let me come with you and we will settle the issue quickly and you can be off to Delhi as planned" Brij offered.

"Okay. Let me talk to Geet and I will meet you outside in a few minutes" Maan replied.

Brij left Maan and Geet alone in the dining room. Geet sat at the table sulking. She wouldn't get to talk to Maan now. He had to work. "Hey Babaji..is he always this busy? Will we ever have time together to talk or...?" Geet blushed before she could complete the last bit of her thought. Maan looked at Geet and saw her expression change from sulking to blushing in a matter of moments and wondered what she was thinking about..."Probably she has thought of some way of doing damage to you Maan. Be careful! "

"Geet, I am going now. I will see you in a few hours, okay?" Maan said coming to stand in front of Geet. She refused to look him in the eye, so Maan leaned down, looking around to make sure they were alone, lifted her chin up and kissed her squarely on the mouth. "Sorry for teasing" he whispered against her lips. "It's okay" she managed to mumble as he continued kissing her deeply. He left her lips abruptly and straightened up, hearing a noise in the corridor.

"Ummm, Geet. I should go now. Brij is waiting for me. We will talk later, okay?"

Geet just nodded absently. The kiss had taken her breath away and she still hadn't gained composure. It amused Maan, that he had such an affect on Geet...but then, she also affected him equally.

"Oh, Ms Roy may drop some papers while I am out. Could you take them for me?" Maan said as he was leaving.

"Okay" Geet replied meekly. She was still too focused on the kiss to think about anything else.
