**PART 16**Rathore reassured everyone that Riya is keeping well, little they knew that he was lying straight at their face. Reema could see Rathore worried and lying at same time she held his hands softly in a low voice asked 'Sameer, aap theek ho na, mujhe pata hai Ri ki halat nazuk hai'
Sameer's eyes welled up, he softly apologized her for his earlier behaviour. Reema smiled and accepted his apology, while he embraced her into a hug. 'I'll take Nikki with me and bring her back in the morning.' Shree walked up and picked Nikki, Rathore simply nodded and stayed at the hospital wondering about Arjun's whereabouts.
The day was quite filled with drama, emotion, love and testing thought Rathore as he dozed off to sleep on the chair outside the ICU room.
On the other side Aman was unconsciously worried a little too much for Riya and Arjun at the same time. Aman was tensed as Arjun failed to regain consciousness as it was long due for him to gain it.
At the same time Aman could only hope Riya's body to respond quicker than usual to the glucose, medications and blood that went in her body through the salain.
It was almost daybreak the birds had started chirping, few rays of sun fell on Arjun's face. He silently winced in pain. Shortly he screamed out "Riyaaa.." as he woke up.
The sudden jerk impacted his head slightly spinning it around for few seconds. But soon he was back to reality.
'Ohh Riya''. Arjun thought as he ran his way out of his room.
Rathore was awake he went to meet Dr. Aman in his office. 'Aman, I hope Riya ke complications badhe nahi hai na' Aman looked at Rathore and smirked 'Nahi Rathore' after a pause he continued with a blink 'Lets go and check shall we' Rathore nodded in reply and they went off.
Aman checked Riya's pulse, her hearbeat everything seemed normal as if he was dreaming that she was serious thought Aman in his mind while a snoothening smile appeared on his face.
'Why are you smiling, sab theek toh hai na' questioned Rathore, soon Aman nodded his head as he plug out the sthesestcope from his ears.
At the same time Arjun ran around finally halting on the information desk and inquired about Riya as he took deep breaths. He was then guided to the ICU. Arjun stopped in front of the door puffing heavily, he glanced through the glass he noticed a Doctor examining and Rathore with him. He siged taking in deep breaths to control his puffing and he sighed in relief.
Rathore noticed Arjun standing on the other side of the door, Arjun looked helpless while Rathore gave him a hard stare indicating 'Don't you dare come in' with his eyebrows arched.
Rathore and Aman discussed about Riya's health and her discharging time, while Aman informed Rathore that if she recovers like this then she could be out of here early tomorrow morning.
The duo walked out Aman greeted Arjun 'Ohh wow' MR. Arjun aap yaha, kab jage aap' 'Hai Doc, how are you, just woke up' replied Arjun shaking his hands with Aman.
Rathore surprisingly 'You both know each other? Immediately Aman smiled as he replied 'Yes, inki wife was my patient'
Rathore ignored while Arjun interrupted 'Woh, kaisi hai?' he questioned I hope she's doing well he concluded
Dr Aman questioned Arjun 'How do you know Riya?' Before Arjun could reply Rathore said 'Ohh just collegues Aman' 'Ohh..so, Arjun how's your wife?' Soon there was an awkward silence between the trio.
Arjun had balled his fist in anger, while he clenched his teeth. Rathore kept shifting his gaze from Arjun to Aman. Arjun with a heavy heart said 'She is no more' saying so he walked off upset. 'Junoo''Called out Rathore but he didn't stop. Rathore stayed with Aman discussing about Riya's health. Aman curiously interrupted 'Are you two close?' While Rathore nodded in a yes.
Aman tapped Rathore's shoulder and asked him to follow.
After an hour in Aman's cabin Rathore's cell rang. 'Excuse me, its Commisioner Sir's' Aman smiled and Rathore left the room. Shortly he walked into the room 'Aman I have to go we'll continue our discussion later!'
Rathore drove furiously to the ETF office while he conferenced the trio (Arjun-Chotu-Shree)
'Sab jaldi aaoo, we have unfinished job to do' 'Conference room in an hour' ordered Rathore. While everyone reached, they were half an hour early than the assigned time. But Rathore was missing.
It was 45mins past Rathore's call the room had build up an awkward silence.
Rathore stormed in, 'D-A-M-N-I-T!!!!' he said throwing the file on the table. 'Shree, mamla bahut garam lag raha hai' whispered Chotu. The trio (Arjun-Rathore-Shree) gave him a hard glare. Chotu soon lowered his gaze staring onto the table in front.
Okay boys!!! 'The commissioner has asked us to go on with the case despite being short in a team member' blurted out Rathore annoyingly, he then continued 'Commisioner ne ye bhi kaha hai ki koi substitute new officer will join us for this case soon'
Shree interrupted 'Sir, jo manager gayab tha, won mil gaya hai' Shree paused as he watched Rathore glaring at him 'Go, on'' he said irritatedl
'Sir who jhut bhi bol raha tha' As per the information me and Chotu gathered it seems manager dabav mai akar publicity ke lie keh raha tha. Par bechara khud hi mara gaya' Completed Shree taking a deep breath.
'Mujhe pehle se hi waha ke environment mai gadbad lag rahi thi Rathore' informed Arjun.
'Okay!' 'Shree go and research karo aur pata karo kitne ladkiya gayab hue hai aur kabse'
'Mai waha ke Manager se baat karta hoon is bar' said Arjun but there was no reply from Rathore's end. Rathore continued 'Chotu apne informers ko alert kar do' 'I'm sure they would know about the missing girls and maybe we might be lucky to grab some details from them' completed Arjun while he gave Rathore a death stare.
Dismiss mujhe ek ghante mai sari info chahiye 'By hook or crook' ordered Rathore.
As soon as everyone left, Rathore called up Aman, to know about Riya's developments. Aman informed him that she was doing much better than before and reassured him she would be normal by tomorrow.
Arjun had stopped his way out of conference room as he heard Rathore inquiring about Riya. He sighed as he heard she was alright just by watching Rathore's expressions through the corner of his eyes.
*** After an hour**
Arjun was back from his R with D..(Research with a Development😆) but there was no Rathore in the conference room nor in the common room. 'Where could he be' thought Arjun.
Arjun slowly tiptoed to Rathore's cabin as he heard a female voice arguing with ACP Sameer Rathore. 'No.. You can't work on this case' screams Rathore
'Sam.. I want to' requests a lady.
The argument went on and on until Arjun knocked Rathore's cabin in curiosity.
'Come in' said Rathore and Arjun walked in.
He was shell shocked to see Reema arguing with Rathore. 'Ye yaha kya kar rahi hai' questioned Arjun.
'Juno tu hi apni behan ko samjha yaar, ye uski bas ki baat nahi hai karke' complained Rathore to Arjun.
While Reema turned around and interrupted Rathore 'Dada(bhai)'you only tell him na that I can do anything and everything' after a pause she continued 'Akhir ACP Arjun Rawte ki behan hu, I would be very useful in this case sachi mai, hai na Dada' both questioned and answered Reema childishly.
'Ye yaha kya kar rahi hai' roared Arjun as he lost his temper seeing his sister in ETF office.
Reema stood frozen with the roar, she was shocked and her eyes had welled up immediately and streams of tears started flowing down her eyes.
Arjun couldn't see her tears, he ran behind her 'Chutkii'. Aarey listen to me I'm sorry' Reema continued walking away, while Rathore gave a Whatever reaction as he was fed up with these two mad brother and sister😆
'Stop right now or I wont talk to you' taunted Arjun, but Reema stopped and stood still where she was. Arjun came in front of her and cupped her face.
While Reema blurted out 'Dada..you and bhabhi are the best' she said with a smile.
'Tum Roshni se mili thi?' questioned Arjun
'Roshni kon dada?' Reema once again questioned in her childish behaviour forgetting about the present life.
'Aarey bhai who Roshni' tu bhi na'.' said Reema mockingly as she hugged him and Arjun hugged her back and Reema continued 'Apni..Sunshine ko bhool gaye'
Rathore had reached the scene but he was unsuccessful in stopping Reema.
Arjun broke the sibling hug and said he had some work, while he requested Rathore if Reema could join them just for one case. As he always wanted to work with his sibling on one case together.
Which Rathore agreed to and Arjun had got into his work. But his mind played the flashback of Reema reminding him of her bhabhi his wife 'Sunshine?'
Arjun mocked himself and said pagal hogayi hai voh aur abh tu bhi' Chutki toh baachi hai abhi bhi' he finished the sentence with a smirk.
The last sentence Arjun mumbled was heard by Rathore who had his eyes well up in sadness.
