How come both Betiyan Shows???

How come both betiyan shows include Gujrati Families.. Does that mean sex discrimination appears most in guju families?? are they trying to show that?

there probably trying to make people realize that there are some people in our society that are not treating their daughters right and maybe they know some people from guju families that this has happened with. you can just guess

I don't know why that is. I would think that they would pick on Punjabi's too because they have they biggest aboration rate.

Well being gujju i heard lotta stories it did happend long time ago in gujarati family or say marwari or rajput.
who are rich because they have to give dowry during olden times and still i have my freinds who are gujarati/marwari she got married and her father gave (they dont mind) close to 50 lakhs and it wasnt asked from boyz side either coz the boy is already crorepati and upon that the wedding was so lavishly done that i was soo amazed though she is a daughter

But olden times also they did same ceremony so that everything goes well in daughters family and she do not come back (meaning divorce or problem) so they keep in-laws happy.

And still as i told you they do give money jewelry and marriage is done with lot of expenses. ( i guess 3 wedding can be easily with that expense)

Why this serial picked gujarti family because it happend alot in gujarati in olden times so you can see the family is not modern at all (except Yuvraj) they still have old fashion house and riti rivaj

dats so wrong, all dis shizzle dont even happen no more! dey jus picked up a concept for a show bak in 60's it myt happen in some village in india, but doesnt hapens at all in urban india AT ALL! n not at all outside india! a very old concept wid a bad choice of new comers--they CAN NOT ACT! yuvraj irritates me!

I find that unfair!!! I m guju n no one in my family does it!!! I dont like how their base on my people!!!

well its just a show and the same people never made these drama's so it doesnt really matter its not like they said were only doing gujrati's n i think that the the way some of you r thnking is wrong

if you guys also noticed...Thodi Khusi Thodi Gham..which also shows discrimination among girls also shows a gujju family...

Well I think it still happens all over India specially in villages.Thankfully due to literacy rates on the rise,now it doesnt matter that much.

As for this show..there was a huge controvesy as Rekha Modi (writer of the Star One show) claimed that the Zee concept was stolen from her.SO I guess thats how both shows ended up showing Gujrati families.And moreover serials depicting Gujrati families become more popular so I guess that must be one of the reasons they show it.

I think it happens in everywhere in Pakistan and India. It happened in Punjabi, Gujrati and all type of families. but writers or director could be Gujrati aur they might live in Gujrat that's why they picked up Gujrati families.
