Khushi's eyes fluttered open feeling thirsty. Getting up she looked for the water on the side table but the glass was empty. She got up from the bed and taking small steps hardly managed to walk towards the bedroom door.

Arnav reached in the ground outside their department;

"KHUSHI" He called out and spun around as he ran his fingers to his hairs. He turned around hearing the tinkling of anklets. He saw her running clutching her shawl to her chest but her state …… He could not think further!

He stepped towards her calling her name but she wasn't listening to him. He came in front of her and then she bumped into him and fainted in his arms

"KHUSHI" He screamed her name loudly

Arnav was staring the ceiling recalling the past. In these four years, if one moment Khushi started trusting Arnav something would happen and she lost her trust in him, and now when finally she started trusting him, all this happened. He sighed painfully

His thoughts interrupted at the clicking of bedroom door.

"Khushi" he immediately got up and with the lightening speed, he held her giving her support

"If you need something you could wake Lavanya" Khushi looked up at him trying to brush off his hands from her arms

"I don't want to disturb her sleep, I was thirsty so ……" Without letting her complete he take her towards the kitchen

He made her sit on the stool and fetched water for her

"Thanks" Khushi drank the water and placed the empty glass on the counter

Arnav took a seat beside her on the other stool

"You were awake?" She asked

"Yeah, seems like sleep wont coming to me tonight" he smiled slightly

Again the awkward silence filled the atmosphere, Arnav once again broke it

"So, what do you think now?"

"About what?" She didn't get it

"Remember I said that I'll make sure you'll not find this place as dirty" Khushi smiled absurdly

"You kept your words" She said

"Thank you" Arnav shook his head

"Can I ask you something?" Khushi looked up at him apprehensively

"You don't need permission, you can ask anything"

"Why …. Why we left haveli … at …. You know ….. abruptly ….. in night ….. what will everyone think?" Arnav was flabbergasted, so did she not remember how his father came to their room and asked them to leave

"You don't remember?" He asked

"No"

"Baba and I had an argument, he ordered us to leave Haveli so we left" He shrugged his shoulders like it was not a big issue to him

"Why …. Was he anry at you?"

"Khushi, I think we should go to sleep n ……" He was about to get up when she stopped him holding his hand

"Because of me!" She was sure of it because in the evening only she pleaded him to let her continue her studies

Arnav didn't say anything but she understood his silence;

'I was … and I am always a problem for you" Her voice became moist as she spoke, Arnav shook his head as his hands wiped off her tears

"No Kh …."

"NO I AM" She bellowed hysterically, "I always put you in trouble because of me, and see now you have to leave your house and that too ….."

"Khushi stop it, you have nothing to do with anything" Arnav stopped her not letting her complete, "Stop thinking these non sense ok"

"But I ….." She opened her mouth to speak but instantly stopped by him

"Be positive Khushi, look at the brighter side of the picture, you will complete your studies without any resistance in it" He cupped her face wiping her tears off

"And … and what about ….. us!" Her questioning gaze bore into his eyes

"I will not leave you" Khushi was stunned as his words take him back to the past when he said the similar words but the situation was different

No, She won't give up! With the thought Khushi mustering up all her strength bite him hard on the sensitive spot of his neck. Rishi yelped in pain as his grip loosened on her, not missing the opportunity she quickly took her shawl from the floor and ran away. Her heels were bothering her so she get rid of them and continue running, the only thought in her mind was to save her, to protect her dignity.

Suddenly she got hit into someone. Helplessness and fear overtook her as she felt a pair of arms embracing her, Having no strength to fight back, Khushi fainted in that person's arms but she heard the screaming of her name from that person before going unconscious;

"KHUSHI"

He saw her disheveled state. Holding her, he set his blouse and hooked it. Wrapping her shawl around her he picked her and went to her hostel

Khushi stirred as the unpleasant happening flashed in her head. She opened her eyes and find Lavanya sitting near her on the bed.

"How are you feeling now?" Lavanya asked worriedly but Khushi fumed in anger as her eyes fell on Arnav who was standing near the bed

Ignoring her question, Khushi got up from the bed and stepping towards Arnav she came to him and stood there

Arnav was confusingly looking at her strange behavior before he could understand anything the next she did stunned him, he looked at her holding his left cheek where she just slapped him and now she was glaring him like she will eat him up

"Khushi wha ….."

"DON'T MR. RAIZADA" She stopped him raising her hand while Arnav was taken aback at her reaction

"Today you proved yourself that you are my master and you tried to make me mistress of that Rishab" She yelled while Arnav was dead shock at this accusation, he cannot even imagine Khushi with anyone and here she was saying that he tried to …… how easily she used this word while he cannot think about it even in his nightmares

"Khu ….."

"I don't need any explanation, just leave me alone" She pointed towards the door while Arnav shook his head

"No, I will not leave you …. Not unless you know what's the truth"

"I DON'T WANT TO KNOW" Khushi cried, Lavanya came and hold her and pleaded Arnav to leave

"But I want to know, what did he say to you and …"he hesitated before asking further but she mistook her silence once again

"You would be disappointed to know that I ran away from there and I …." She paused as she remembered how she saved her from that beast, "Get out before I'll do something which I have to regret afterwards" She moved to the bathroom when he came in front of her

"What will you do" This was all getting serious and out of hands, Lavanya was helplessly looking both of them who were spitting fire to each other, she decided to intrude

"Arnav it's very late now, can we please talk about the matter tomorrow" Lavanya said politely but Khushi gets offended

"Excuse me, you think I am just fussing with him" She shifted her rage now towards her

"No Khushi I didn't mean tha ……"

"Right Lavanya, Let's end it once and for all" Arnav interfered as both of them stared at him, "From this moment we both are nothing but class mates to each other, I will never come in your way again"

Khushi hadn't seen his eyes this cold before, the gaze was piercing her heart and when he turned to leave her heart was silently crying pleading him not to leave but then he left and Khushi could do nothing about it

She knew she was wrong at that time but then she has to pay for this mistake but how! She closed her eyes as she remembered about that incident,

"Khushi" His voice broke her train of thoughts

"Haan"

"Let's sleep" He picked her in his arms ignoring her resistance and headed to the bedroom

Gently making her lay down on the bed he caressed her cheeks lightly, "Good Night" and he stepped out of the room while Khushi watched him going away the images from the past flashing in front of her eyes
