Chapter 6- The dinner

"Need a hand sweetie?"

"Alia I think we're in the wrong house. ' Did I just here that jerk Arnav's handsome husky voice or is it just my silly brain making stupid noises?" "No no we're not in the wrong house and your mind did not make any silly noise cuz even I heard the voice of that sexy beast eka sexyzada."

"hellooo that sexy beast of yours is standing right in front of you' and I heard what u were talking about me."

Both of the girls dropped the bags in one swift movement. Khushi's face was scary' her eyes were wide like 2 saucepans and her cheeks were crimson red and Alia had her jaw dropped seeing Sid and Arnav right in front of them.

"Ohh girls you're here. Well surprise' these 2 will be joining us in dinner tonight."

"the guys started laughing at their awkward expressions and the girls started picking up the dropped things and started whispering to each other. "

"Gawd Khushi ' why didn't I see this coming' shit shit ' how do I look?'" "you're not the only one who didn't see this coming' by the way you look like bull poopie' lol and I'm the same'shit I can't believe I just called Arnav's voice 'sexy' right in front of him shit shit'" but none of them knew that the guys heard the whole secret conversation since their hearing's way better than normal human beings.

"Girls go change yourselves and come downstairs"

The girls left the hall shooting daggers at the laughing boys.

: Dinner:

"soo Siddharth what are your future plans? Anything special?"

"umm no auntie' I'm just interested in management and stuff."

"What about you Arnav?" "Nothing special auntie'I like fashion designing' but I change my mind very quickly. So can't be sure of it." "Lol that's funny' you and fashion designing? Ha-ha that's the most hilarious thing I've heard since I've got here. Seriously?" Khushi started laughing only to be threatened by Alia's mom. "Shh Khushi behave'" "Sorry auntie"

"Umm so auntie what have you decided with these 2? Family business?" Arnav indirectly turned the discussion to the place he's aiming to get. He wanted to know more about whether they are still interested in hunting or not. "Um no beta' it's not my choice to make' I 've given them free will to choose whatever they are interested in. I really don't want to push these 2 girls in to family business. Well actually our parents and grandparents made sure that we stick to family businesses but everything stopped when Khushi's parents died in a tragical accident. After that our families separated. They fled from the country and family stuff just got away'so I prefer them to do what they like."

Arnav's plan worked just as he wanted it to be and he was glad that though this family has the hunting bloodline they have stopped it. His mind was having a small victory party in himself but that didn't last for long for its Khushi who broke the silence.

"Auntie they did not die of a tragical accident' they were killed and I know it. You don't have to hide it from me nor from anyone in this family." "Khushi 'we had this conversation long ago and I don't want to talk about it. Plus you don't have any solid proof to say that they were killed. Khushi we'll have this discussion later." "No ' they were KILLED. I have no proof but my heart, my soul and my mind says that they were killed' and I was there when all three of them died."

Arnav almost choked his soup when he heard 'three'. "Three?" asked Arnav. "Yes three. My mother, my father and my little brother. Mom was pregnant with my little brother when she was killed." Replied a teary Khushi. "Well ummm I think that's enough sad talks for the evening" said Alia's mom looking uncomfortable. The rest of the dinner went fine except for the fact that Khushi was silent throughout the time which didn't go unnoticed by Arnav.

"Hey umm Arnav thanks for bringing us home last night'" said Khushi. "Ohh don't mention it." Replied Arnav taking a sip of his Wine glass

Just then the light went off. "Ohh shit power cut' Khushi close your eyes don't open them until we ask you to." Alia screamed from where ever she was. "Ok ok I got them closed 'and I'm not gonna open them until you ask me to." Said Khushi while holding Arnav's hand tightly entangling her fingers with his.

Arnav could hear her heartbeat. It was fast. As if she was running a marathon and he knew that she was scared to hell.

"Hold on a sec I'm looking for the candles. Alia you have the box of matches?" no mom I don't have it with me." "Ummm why did you ask Khushi to close her eyes? Is this some kind of a surprise party?" asked Sid curiously who was standing a couple of feet away from Alia. "Actually she's dead scared of the dark. She can scream until she faint. If she open her eyes her mind will draw crazy stuff with the shadows and she'll start screaming. She says that darkness reminds her of her of the night that her parents died." "Ohh that's bad." "Khushi where are you?" asked Alia's mom. "Auntie she's hanging on to my arm saying her prayers." Replied Arnav. He could feel her grip tightened.

"Khushi there's nothing to be scared of dark'" said Arnav trying to calm her down. "Well you're not the one who's scared of it ' so shut the f*** up" replied Khushi. "But you're hanging on to my arm" "so what? Helping for a needy person won't kill you. Plus I won't rip off your arm. So be supportive." Snapped Khushi. This little bickering conversation of theirs helped Khushi to clam herself down and she forgot that the lights were gone and she accidently opened her eyes.

Arnav and Khushi were facing the kitchen window. She opened her eyes and she saw a shadow of a man through that window. She panicked.

"ARGHHHAAAHHHAAA"

SCREAMED KHUSHI FROM THE TOP OF HER LUNGS. Arnav realized what happened and he held her from both of her shoulders and shook her screaming back out at her to snap out of it. In return Khushi accidently hugged him crying like a little baby. he felt so human after 100 years with her hug.Just then the light came back and everyone gathered around Arnav and Khushi. Khushi was sobbing. Arnav pushed her gently and held her from her shoulders. He was dumbstruck with the sight he saw. Her eyes were blood shot and her face was pale like a white cloth. First of all he thought that she was acting a little to get his attention but now with the sight in front of him he cleared that thought from his mind because she really looked scared. Her skin was cold and her body was weightless. He carried her to the couch and laid her there sitting next to her.

"Khushi what happened' I told you not to open your eyes'" but Khushi didn't speak she just turned her pale face towards the window and stared outside. "Khushi!!! Khushi!!! Snap out of it." Said Alia's mother. Just then Arnav turned himself towards the place where Khushi was staring. "I I I I saw'. I I saw a man ' outside'outside the window' he he was staring right at me'and and he had blue eyes" replied Khushi. "Uffooo' again you brain has outsmarted your senses. Arnav and Siddharth could please go out and prove our little Khushi over here that there's no one outside." Said Alia's mom gently trying to calm her down. "Sure auntie..."

They both went outside. "Sid ' she was telling the truth'" said Arnav. "Someone has been here. Can't you just smell it? It's not a human. It's a vampire." "Yeah I know' but how did he sneak out here without us noticing his presence. Was he searching for us?" "Sid I don't think that it's the right time to talk about this' we'll talk about this when we get back home. I've never seen anyone so scared of the dark."

"Well yeah me neither'on the bright Side you got a free hug." "Shut up Sid' this is not funny. I have a bad feeling about this."

The boys entered the house.

"There's no one outside' must be your wild imagination." Said Arnav to Khushi who looked slightly calmed. "See I warned you so many times not to read such scary books" said alia. "What do you want me to read? Nursery rhymes?" snapped Khushi.

"Yeah must be my imagination'uffooo why did I even bother to open my eyes'it's all your fault..." "MY fault?" exclaimed Arnav stressing on the word 'my'. "Yes your fault!! If you didn't start that fight with me I wouldn't have forgotten the fact that the lights are gone and I wouldn't have opened my eyes. So it's your fault."

And the fight continued. In the end Arnav and Sid left bidding them goodbye.

Precap- she's just jealous of us. Don't you trust me." Said arnav looking innocently at zoey while giving side glances at khushi. Who's face was now as red as an apple.
"of course I do' yeah right some people are just jealous enough to make their faces go red when their plan flopped. Ohh arnav I shouldn't have doubted you for this hag over here. I'll be right back." Said zoey and left the place.
'5 whole points for arnav and big 2 zeros for khushi' he thought.
'yeah right jealous'jealous my butt' I'll teach him a lesson humph.' Thought khushi and left for her next class.
