Appu, Pari, and Heema: thanks so much for adding your invaluable thoughts to this discussion👏
Okay I see what you guys are saying and agree with part of it. I think what Pari and Heema are trying to say is that even though they don't support physical violence, there are valid reasons for one to engage in it and invalid reasons to engage in it. So Rishi's case after the abortion issue may be a valid reason. But Malik may not be valid because his act seemed more pre-meditated than just a instant reaction. Am I representing your views correctly? I agree with this - people may get angry for very valid reasons and in the heat of the moment, a slap may be the only way they can express their anger/frustration (I think this applies to the real life incident Heema narrated). But...I still don't think it makes it right. No matter what the reason, violence should not be accepted as a means to express our frustration. It is understandable in many circumstances but never justified.
Appu, yes we are talking about ideal situations. Real life is much different. But, even if the real life conditions are not ideal, I still will stick to my original statement. Regarding courts and judges, I don't know how things work in India but again theoreticaly, the judges ruling is not just their personal interpretation but rather a compilation of all the evidence and appropriate laws. But if this does not happen, then I think we should work towards making it happen rather than pass out punishment to people on our own. (BTW, I love how you are able to explain what I'm trying to say in a much more clear and succint way😊)
Okay, the last thing I want to say is that I'm a strong believer in the principle that I rather see a 100 guilty persons be set free than see 1 innocent person go to jail and I apply this principle to our current discussion. I actually apply the same principle to police toruture as well (I'm vehemently opposed to it)- I rather see a guilty person set free than see an innocent soul be tortured.
On a much lighter note, I don't think either Indira or Rishi mind the slapping- so agar miya biwi razi to kya karega kazi 😆

HI Dia, Appu , and Pari.
Sorry it took me this long. Very busy day !! I had half hour free and I was tring to be Diwani . You know what I ment . I hope we can get out of this diwanapan . Whatever!!!
Now I want to rest my case. We can go on and on !! Dia will get fed up with us . But I see what's happening ! You ladies live in India. Law and order does not exist . Money can buy any one and any one takes law and order in their hands , jury system is not used and judges can be brought , this is why you have some of the veiws and frustations ., and I understand because my family in India has same veiw points and girls in family very frustrated and worried about their future . Educated one also have same frustrations !!
When person has difficulty with inner conflict and anger and this results into aggressive behavior or physical assault , they need help and not punishment ,unless that crime is hideous and premeditated That person needs to be jailed and punished. When some one uses physical abused one time due to rage or justifiable reason and they are sorry later on they must go though self analysis or anger management training or therapy because if this happens one it will happen again !!! Repeated minor incidant offenders must get treatment with medication and psychotherapy . Jailing every one does not solve problem . Education and finding roots of the problem is very important . Many times person is jailed for minor problem comes out of jail and commits major crime and has other training from criminals and their friendship . We do not have enough jails and major crimes needs the space .
Every psychological issue cannot be solve by law needs understanding and education which we lack in India and that's why we see so much domestic violence and women are victims!! So think about this. I do believe in prevention , treatment comes later if needed , which might not work !!
Thanks all of you . It was great discussion!! This was probably one of the healthiest one in my opinion!!!
