watching old epi - ques about contract wedding

I started watching IPKKND after the marriage,somewhere around Khushi & Arnav in Gupta household post marriage...

Of course after the closure am now catching up from beginning.. but generally skipping parts not having Arnav &/or Khushi in the frame...

I watched... the fantastic pre-wedding awareness building up between Khushi & Arnav.. all the dhak-dhak... sensing each other etc... I also understand Arnav accepting Khushi & on verge of saying something before the Shyam betrayal catching him unaware... and the resulting anger & his revenge... that I get...

What puzzles me is that Di & Nani get aware of Arnav's feelings for Khushi, around Khushi kissing Arnav near poolside... they become aware of Khushi feeling towards Arnav too... then they start plotting... so WHY did they get so upset when Khushi & Arnav wed?

At least the Guptas POV I can understand.. they had no clue.. but why Di & Nani?

They know Arnav.. what his nature is... he doesn't believe in any ceremonies, he didn't even come to a Pooja until he came to keep tabs on Khushi.. a guy who wanted a live-in with La, at least he married Khushi... a big step for him... They should also know that it was all Arnav's doing, Khushi would have preferred a traditional wedding with family & friends.. so why upset with Khushi???

If they were upset by his marrying without family (eloping). They could have insisted on doing a full ceremony instead... By skipping around the scenes, did I miss anything that explains this???

Of course if that did happen, I guess there would be no "official marriage" 6 months down the road..

Both nani and Anjali were not against Arnav marrying Kushi. But they were unhappy about the way they got married. They never expected this from a traditional girl like Kushi.

Yeah actually they didn't like it that they married without the family. i.e eloping. I guess they thought they were already fully married so they let go...

Infact in one if the episodes after the force marriage ( I think after the pag-phere) when arshi return, anjali comes to their room and even says that nani & she actually liked khushi, its only the manner in which the rushed to marry upset them

And that contract marriage thing never got reveled.

Thank you guys.. I still need to watch post marriage.. will keep an eye out for Di segment... Just at the Thappad scenes still... hopefully this weekend will eke out some time..

On top they had seen Khushi every single day before that. but why would Nani bring Khushi in Arnav's life when he was engaged to La?? Guess I should go back & not skip any parts.. wish they would rebroadcast from episode 1...

At that time La and Arnav were not engaged. They were in a relationship. The actually were never officially engaged. Because they broke up their alliance before getting engaged. If you recall they had just announced their engagement on Diwali and were going to be engaged on the same day as PAYASH. LA was brought to RAizada house upon Shyam's suggestions with the deadline of a month to see if she was fit to be Arnav's wife and train her to be a Raizada Bahu. And yes those episodes surrounding La were very entertaining. Esp those with Manorama Mami
