Aparna,
I liked the way you have put across JaAn impact on AnSh.
My thought process says that she is not really fearing rejection after intimacy. She likes shiv as a person and believes in his goodness. She believes in his promises. The problem is intimacy itself. For her intimacy or any touchy gestures indicating intimacy are only associated to jagya. Her brained is wired right now to think intimacy= jagya. She perhaps never thought about it till one day before marriage. All that she knew was shiv was her best friend, her greatest support. She had started to like his company. She wanted that companionship and support all her life.
Her moments with jagya will remain in her mind and heart forever ... They will fade away with time but she can never forget them..she has to work towards creating more cherish able moments with shiv with his help whih will eventually be stronger memories. As you mentioned as of now she is not able to separate her painful memories from
Pleasant... True.. Sigh..
Lets see how AnSh triumph over this situation. I hope cvs do justice to this sensitive issue since they chose to show it in an elaborated fashion.

Wonderful post and discussion.

It's been troubling me that CVs are portraying Anandi like she has been currently rather than as a strong, honest woman with self-belief who manages situations rather than run away so was thinking about it.

I think perhaps Anandi's issues run deeper than just Jagya's betrayal. Because of her child marriage, the poor child's dreams of a normal childhood and an education were crushed ruthlessly. Parents are who you trust the most and who are supposed to look out for your happiness. She was thrust into the role of a bahu when she was a kid and when she ran back home, she was brought back to Jaitsar by her parents, even though she was miserable. Then, of course, the big Jagya betrayal.

Lately, even DS manipulated her to accept Shiv when she was perfectly fine making her life's objective Jaitsar's progress. DS later even tried to get her to remarry Jagya. I figure that she's not quite sure that someone she loves will not turn around on her and make her to do something that's against her wishes. I'm not blaming anyone here but just wondering about the impact of different incidents at different times in her life.

My take is that Anandi's hesitation could also arise from the fact that she might be actually falling for Shiv already but is unable to believe that this guy who is offering her the world is for real and for always. She's perhaps holding back because as long as she does not let go fully in the relationship, she can protect herself from disillusionment later. Not fair to Shiv but he signed up for this willingly and happily. Of course, the payoff will be awesome when Anandi declares her love!

I must say though that when it comes to Anandi's relationship with Jagya, I do get confused. Clearly, they were unsuited, Jagya had no respect for her and she would have become disillusioned with him, with or without Gauri. I cannot understand that given that and that she has seen different examples like Sumi, Gehna, Sugna, Champa, Phooli and Asha, she does not reflect on what a non-marriage her relationship with Jagya was. I guess the epiphany will happen as she contrasts it with what she has with Shiv...

On the other hand, CVs like to stretch eyeball-attracting tracks so the reason could also be shipping bed death.

I hope in the future the Jagya and AnSh tracks remain separate as they can be living in the same district. Thanks to Ganga, I'm actually looking forward to the Jagya track and seeing how they will help each other.

So hopefully things will work out.

She was thrown into a situation at a very young age where she had to work at earning love of the people. She has been made to make life for herself at a very young age. With Shiv she feels she had not done anything to earn his love probably she feel she is not entitled to that love.Kind of unconditional that should have come from parents was missing in her life.So she does not know that love can be unconditional too

She may be having that fear too.May be that's the reason she was resistant to get into another relationship. She probably felt drained giving all of herself to her relationships she felt that she did not have anymore of her left to give Shiv.

Of course, the payoff will be awesome when Anandi declares her love!i agree.By not giving into him and by not letting him get closer to her she may be protecting herself.

I guess the epiphany will happen as she contrasts it with what she has with Shiv...For all her intelligence combined with common sense she has this frog in the well attitude. She believes herself to be married to him so she fulfilled her responsibilities in that relationship with Jagya. She blames bal vivah for the fate of her marriage.

On the other hand, CVs like to stretch eyeball-attracting tracks so the reason could also be shipping bed death.

I hope in the future the Jagya and AnSh tracks remain separate as they can be living in the same district. Thanks to Ganga, I'm actually looking forward to the Jagya track and seeing how they will help each other.I hope so too.

I am glad Shiv showed so much restraint and so much maturity. Although I'm sure no one is actually treating BV as a benchmark on how to loive their lives, but Shiv is having to adjust a whole lot and Anandi's baggage is BIG.

Though - when I look back, Sugna who was resistant to her husband(forget his name - X) coz of her older memories of her dead finace, even X had had to bend over backwards for a long long time. He had to appease his family and please Sugna and he got nothing but resentment from either end for the longest time. By comparison, Shiv does have it very easy - so maybe I shudn't pity him so.

But Shiv is so so very cute and lovable, why can't Anandi just plain n simple lust for him ??? Why why why ???

i agree how can she remain normal with him n still resist him after tht hug...here whole bunch of anshians r ready to jump on him n anandi is so frigid...well how can she :-X
thts the trend in telly shows...they depict female lead as asexual beings who r happy serving cooking n cleaning...thts typical patriacal mentality...female sexuality is considered a disgrace :-(
so BV is not showing somthing out of context

True Niks ! The female libido exists. No matter how they try to hide it, women want it too, its just that men feel no shame in actually asking for it first.

How can a bride run away to the kitchen and dress up like a doll and keep hiding from her hubby and for how long ? The reason the guy gets the girl home is so he won't have to go out to look for excitement any more. Let me clarify he ofcourse wants her to be a true soul mate, a best friend for life, have compassion, be educated, be sensible, have love for his family too. But the fire has to burn at both ends. Who lights who's doesn't matter. As long as eventually it sizzles on both ends.

I don't agree with the BV sermon that it is ALWAYS supposed to be the guys job to light it. Girls have hopes and ambitions too and girls too have dreams and aspirations. Girls shudn't have to always show restraint and unwillingness - in order to prove they are paragons of virtue.

They don't go out to woo just a combination of cook/cleaner/nashta server/bhajan singer on a ghodi with the entire family dancing. The resume requirement has other jobs/'perks' too.

I for one - am waiting for Shiv to start woing and eroding her defences 😃

Somehow I am not able to still get convinced CVs potrayal of Anandi's feelings. It more seems like she is not able to see anyone else her husband and close to her as she saw Jagya more because of her love towards him. Somehow Shiv said the same thing. With so much hummiliation and rejection from Jagya why the past bad memories are not accompained by sour ones and make her feel disgusted of that cheap fellow. Now the meaning of "aap mere aur mere ateet ke beech himalaya ban kar khade hain" goes into drain. Positive impact should have been that with Shiv's friendship of so many months she is ab;e to move on without any difficulty. They should have showm some other reasons for not having intimacy.. not FBs of that stupid Jagya, which now every time I see seems so creepy.

Not everyone is so capable like Shiv, people who accpet/love Divorcee Girl shouldn't see it as an impossible task of wooing their wives.

More than the person it is the situation she is remembering and it pains her that situation is connected with him.As time passes by the memories may stay but they will stop affecting her.

When she is interacting with J in person she is not reminded of all these things. But most of the events in her life are connected with him and this is one of them.

Actually we r uselessly wreaking our brains...CVs want to drag AnSh track to streatch the story line...If they show things going smoothly then where's the drama where's the fun.
Foe the sake of dragging they will show any thing so just relax n pray for ansh romance 😉
