Jyothi,
As for all the absolutely valid points you have listed, these seem to be par for the course in PR. Onir says it was just a 'slight stress attack', which was not just nicely modest but probably accurate, whereas the other doctor talks as if she was at death's door and Onir had pulled her back by some sort of voodoo magic known only to him. If anyone talks of 'complications' and 'treatment; once more, I shall do something drastic!😉
I don't think he said he was going to leave the country after the Durga Puja, just Kolkatta. Probably to go to one of the villages he was talking about to his friend. But even that seems to have been blown away in the wind.
Today's episode was curiously ambiguous, with Onir asking whether the family should be told (about something) and Purvi nixing it. Initially I thought it was about the baby - for they talk so many times of their marriage, including today, that one cannot question that. Finally, after listening to Purvi talk to herself about Onir still being angry with her and expressing her confidence that he will soon understand her and forgive her, plus that soft little scene with the sun in his face and the pillow, I concluded that he was miffed by what she had done and that was his way of showing it. And that his question had also been about that. Especially when Purvi compares their relationship to that of her sainted
aai-baba (in effect, though she says she is not doing it), and Onir refers again to his
biwi and his
bachcha. As for not getting too attached to Onir, I suppose you are right, but then again, if one is not attached to
any character in the serial, Jyothi, then why watch it? I watch PR now basically for Onir, as our old favourites have had all their charm and appeal and personality leached out of them courtesy the CVs, and I do not care a hoot for the rest. I know that Onir might not last ( but then again, if there is another major leap come summer, he will), but even if he is here only for a while, I will enjoy his scenes while they are there. He is so transparently loving and caring towards his wife that it warms one's heart to see it. And Purvi and he are so very comfortable together. Poor Arjun, he has drawn the shortest stick, and has been left to lump it.

The good BT Doc just takes pulse and puts her on the oxygen levels monitor and pronounces his verdict :) Shldnt the nurse have hooked up the patient by then? :) I hope the specialist is gonna do more than that !! Even in Cal, he hardly examines Ovi in that barely a clinic, and pronounces her womb as weak :) not even an ultrasound..How they show the medical professoon, really !! This is not about Onir but the way the scenes are written...apparently even at this young age of what 27-30 yrs, he is the only doc in all of India that has the magic hands to treat the brat ! They cldnt come up with a better idea? Wasnt he supposed to leave the country after dassera? Such a conscientious doctor and he decides to stay back in Bbay and treat ovi? What happens to all his poor patients in Cal ? The whole picture of showing him as a doc with noble ideals is falling apart, I feel.
I am not ga-ga over Dr.Onir but do think he is a nice, loving, decent guy with good values in life. But, he is at a losing end here. He is gonna pack his bags in a couple of months for sure... So, please dont get too attached to him...
Anyway, my take in this :)
