This is probably one of the last chapter which is based on the serial. After this, story will turn but will use the same backdrops and characters.

Chapter 13 – Kuch Toh Hua Hai

Her smile as bright as the sun

Never fails to make my day

Every time

I lose my self, when i look in her way

World seems to vanish, as i look in her way

Need to stop my self, before i start move towards her way

Next Morning

Maan wondered how he was going to face her after night's hug. Her tears and his own attraction towards her was making him loose his senses. Even after convincing himself umpteen times, he could neither forget the desire to wipe her tears away nor the shiver his entire body felt at her mere touch. Lost in his thoughts, he was walking fast when he collided with her petite frame making him once again enchanted by her eyes.

Maan rushed to his cabin as he broke the eye lock with determination and effort with Geet following closely with his appointments. She had decided that not mentioning anything about the night was the right thing to do.

Though she had found immense peace and an undescrible support in his arms, she could never accept or expect it again. She had felt relieved and after a long time happy from within but then she just wanted to hold onto the feeling as a memory and nothing more.

At the same time, last thing which Maan wanted was to face her but could not stop her from coming into his cabin. Even he was determined not only to ignore last night's event but also to stay away from her.

She entered the cabin, smiled and started ranting off his appointments for the day when she suddenly stopped. Maan looked at her quizzically wanting her to contine and her next set of words petrubed him.

"Sir…aapka coat"

"What?"

Geet got nervous at his loud and irritated voice and replied with a stutter

"Sir…aapka coat acha hai…bahut acha hai lekin aapne buttons galat lagaye hain."

Cheezein main rakhke bhool jaata hoon

Bekhayaali mein gungunaata hoon

Ab akele mein muskuraata hoon

Badli hui si meri ada hai

Kuch to hua hai, kuch ho gaya hai

Maan cursed himself and then Geet in his mind. He had completely lost it. Even Daadima had commented on the breakfast table as he has been so lost in Geet's thoughts that he had ended up buttering his hand instead of toast. On top of it he had ended up smiling at Nakul when he had passed him coffee. For a moment he thought it was Geet and worst was after Daadima checked if he had fever seeing him smile, he had still wanted his illusion to stay.

He started fixing his buttons and spoke out rudely to hide his inner turmoil "Anything else or are now you going to fix my buttons also."

Both looked each other shocked. Geet because she never expected a statement like that from Maan and Maan because he could not fathom how he could loose his cool and speak such rude words to her.

Geet immediately excused herself and just ran from there and paused after closing his cabin door

"Babaji…aaj bacha lena. Kahin Maan sir kal raat ki wajah se toh…nahi nahi he must have forgotten all that and you also stay normal. He just seems to be in bad mood and I pointed his mistake, isiliye aisa bola hoga…hai na Babaji"

Maan sat down but he was not alone anymore.

Pighla pighla hai dil mera jab se

Achchha rehta hai mood bhi tab se

Hanske milta hoon aaj kal sab se

Khush ho gaya hai jo bhi mila hai

Kuch to hua hai, kuch ho gaya hai

He snapped open his eyes to shake the image his mind had conjured - "Yeh ladki mujhe sach mein pagal kar degi"

Maan got up to go to the meeting but didn't know where he was walking. Still lost in Geet's thoughts, he reached Pantry and was shocked when Sasha asked what he was doing here. Everybody was confused what he was doing there for the first time and rushed out from there seeing his angry glare.

"God…mein Pantry mein kyon aa gaya. Mein yahan kya kar raha hoon. Now, let me make a cup of coffee otherwise if I go back empty handed…everyone will think Maan Singh Khurana has gone mad.

Maan started to make coffe when he started thinking about his own behavior.

"Why am I behaving so weird?"

Geet came to pantry only to find Maan lost in his own thoughts and talking to himself. His cup was full with water and was now overflowing but Maan Sir just seemed somewhere else. Geet shook him out of his reverie and offered to clean up the mess he had created.

She was stunned by his reaction – "Nahi…No…just stay away from me…haan…I have made this mess and I will clear it…you just stay away ok…"

Rang chamkile saare lagte hain

Raah mein bikhre taarein lagte hain

Phool ab zyaada pyaare lagte hain

Maheki hui si jaisi hawa hai

Kuch to hua hai, kuch ho gaya hai

Geet nodded her head in agreement and then remembered the card she held in her hands. She gave it to him telling him that it was some invitation card left by one of the clients.

Maan took the card and suddenly his eyes widened in anger. Not understanding his reaction, she took the card back and just then noticed that his name was printed incorrectly as "Maan Singh Phurana". Spontaneously, she burst out laughing reading the name and Maan just looked on at her innocent and pure laughter as her sweet twinkling voice filled his ears.

Dhyaan ab apna zyaada rakhta hoon

Sochta hoon main kaisa lagta hoon

Aaina ho to dekh leta hoon

Kaise yeh chehra aisa khila hai

Kuch to hua hai, kuch ho gaya hai

His trance was broken when she suddenly stopped seeing his intent gaze on her. She gulped her saliva mistaking his stare as anger while Maan walked away angrily, rritated with himself and his behavior. He remembered his resolve from last night.

"Ab bahut ho gaya. If I keep on behaving like this then that day is nor far when whole world will know her affect on me. They will again take advantage of me…again hurt me…again laugh at me"

He immediately called few numbers to control the situation and called for a project meeting next day.

Next Day

Everyone collected in the conference room as Maan marched in with another man behind him.

"Hello Everyone. This is Mr. Rahul Singhania. He has recently joined our company as head architect in Chandigarh office.

We all are aware that Mr. Chopra's project is quite huge and needs full attention. Hence, I have decided that a separate dedicated team will look at this project while I will focus on our other projects. This new team will report to me on a regular basis but will be lead by Mr. Singhania. Sasha, please allocate Virat from your team on this project and Adi you allocate Romeo.

Geet, Mr Chopra is very happy with you and hence to guide Mr. Singhnia on the history, you will stay on this project and report to Rahul. Along with being his secretary and assisting with creativity, you will also be leading on client relationship. I am giving you a temporary increase in your role and if you do well, I may consider this for your next assignment. So take this as an opportunity and give you best.

Adi, Pinky will be assisting me for next six months till Geet is working with Rahul.

Rahul, your project team has been set up on the floor below."

Geet did not know what to feel. On one side she felt insecure and empty at the thought of not working with Maan sir but on the other side she could not thank him enough for increased role and his trust in her abilities. She had never thought that some one with her qualifications could achieve so much in so less.

Today he has shown faith in you and given you this chance. You have to work well. Not only for yourself but for Sir too. You can't let him down."
