Swarganga Award for Mona Singh

Pune, October 9; Eminent personalities from p***ri-Chinchwad area will be felicitated with Swarganga awards on Thursday. Those chosen have carved a niche for themselves in the fields of education, sports, entertainment and work in the civic body.

The awards have been set up by the Goel Ganga group. The upcoming plush green Swar Ganga complex in the heart of Vallabhnagar in p***ri will be the venue for the award function.

The award winners are educationists P D Patil and B F Khilanani, industrialist Satish Tandon, Mayor Mangala Kadam and Centre's labour welfare committee member Satish Deshmukh. Mona Singh of Jassi fame and sports star Dhanraj Pillai's will also be honoured.

Goel said that they plan to continue with the awards every year if it proved to be a success.

The highlight of the evening would be an entertainment programme of internationally-acclaimed Satish Dehmukh from Mumbai who will mesmerise the audience for about two hours with magic. While stating that it was his first show in the city, Deshmukh said, ''To add a Maharashtrian touch to the show, the illusion stunt is going to be with a baithakichi laavani dance performer from Indore. The logo will stun the audience.''with magic.
