Waited three years to cast Akshay: Neeraj Pandey
After A Wednesday, director Neeraj Kumar's Special Chabbis is set to hit theatres soon and Neeraj has waited a long time to get Akshay Kumar on board.
Given his track record in 2012, Akshay has had his fair share of hits and also his flops. But this did not deter Neeraj Pandey from casting the Khiladi for his next.
"I waited three years to work with him. It's great working with him and I'm glad he accepted. We found common ground. With Special Chabbis,Akshay's image will be that of an anti hero, something he's not really done before", says Neeraj.
"I was not skeptical about casting Akshay just because some of his films flopped last year. That's not how you cast actors. You take them in your film because they fit in", addss Neeraj.
Contrary to rumours, Special Chabbis is not based on any one particular incident, especially the 1987 jewellery heist where conmen posed as CBI officials and raided a famous jewellery store in Mumbai.
The film has been inspired by many real life incidents and has been shot in different cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Chandigarh.
