Well said Cruiser - where Sana and Rajev are concerned, Sana is not an innocent damsel being taken advantage of, she is a capable street-smart girl who is well able to take care of herself. She thrives on attention - be it of any kind - that is why she was so pleased with lukkhas like Raja, Ashutosh and Kashif trying to woo her.

But where men are concerned - most Indian girls are so used to being pawed and groped and stared at from childhood onwards, that by the time they are in their teens they are quite capable of identifying which guys are dangerous, and whom to befriend.

@scofield - ever pause to wonder - why YOU were the one with a girlfriend and her friends would not consider YOU a threat, but they would shy away from your friends. If you were part of the same gang then these girls should have stayed away from you too. What was it that made these girls trust you but not the others?

Another day and another rape..

Remember I was saying that most sexual assaults happen are done by people known to victims? Well I was right again. This time a 17 year girl in South Delhi was raped by her friend on new years eve.

This is why you ladies need to watch out; this is why Im warning everyone to keep their guard up and trust their gut feeling.

Below is the story.

I'll be honest man. Yeh jo 15-18 age hai na baut kachi umer hai. It is very easy to convince or persuade a girl. They easily get caught in the net. I'll be honest she is naive and stupid to go meet a stranger that met her online. Girls, you really need to open your eyes and fall for this nonsense crap. Girls naive hoti hein unki galti nahi hai likan they need to think twice before picking up a step.

In this case the girl went by her gut instinct - would've rather she'd listened to her head instead.

Actually scratch that... Its pretty hard to deal with situations like that. I can basically tell everyone to cut off any relations and hide in a cave but that would be very stupid of me. On a second thought if you cannot even trust your own friends then who else.

Depends on how you evaluate who you are friends are - at 17 one is too young to judge people. Teenagers feel they know everything but they don't - unpalatable but true.

Secondly, why would anyone trust someone they met on a social network? And that too so much that you would go out for a party with them? Why would a teenager be partying in a group that was clearly not the same age group?

Not blaming the victim here, but the parents who are not part of the girls' life at all.

I won't say cut-off relationship with everyone - but set your limits and stick to them. If you meet someone over a social network - ensure that an adult from your family is around to evaluate the person. Trust the judgment of your parents a little more - they have experience behind them and have your best interests at heart (in most cases)

Well the times are changing, the social media is evolving, there are many friends who are on facebook, and then there are facebook friends who become friends and vice versa... It would be too much of a broad statement to caution everyone as fake, untrustworthy etc.

I totally understand people need to more stringent and serioous for their privacy and their friends circle, but more often than not even the best of the best fall victim.

I agree that times are changing - but have you wondered why there are so many crimes around social media? That is because people tend to suspend judgment when it comes to meeting people online.

IF someone agrees with you, that person becomes your best friend, if someone flatters you that person is treated as more than a close friend.

15-25 is when people are not just acquiring an individual identity of their own but also learning to deal with the world on their own. it is important at this age to rely on someone other than your immediate peer group, even more than one person if necessary. This is not just for girls but all individuals.

A 23 yr old man is as likely to commit a crime after being incited by his friends as an 18 yr old girl who would trust the wrong person after being encouraged by her friends. In both cases the youngsters ruin their own lives and those of others due to a serious lack of judgment and guidance.
