CHAPTER 15: THE TWO FACED FAMILY MEMBER

Komal opened her eyes . as she looked around she saw ds, brijraj and jai. Doctor was checking her pulse

Dr: madam, how do you feel now?

K: (weakly)how can I feel good when my daughter is not there

She turns her head away and tears flows out

Dr: take rest madam, don't strain your self

(To brij)make sure she take these tablets

B: yes doctor

Ds: the lose is not only for you but everyone. But life must go on

B: yes ma, your right. But ma she was our eldest daughter. The light of our home.the sound of our happiness (he moves away and starts crying. He does not want anyone to see him crying)

J: maa, please don't worry. I have lost my sister. Now I can't lose my mother too. Please maa

They both hug each other and cry

HOURS LATER

Uday and jaggat was driving towards devgarh royal palace. They were invited for a memorial service of manyata. Also, her will would be read after the service so all her business partners were too invited

J: this royal palace always used to amaze me. Now it looks so dull, like somebody took its light away

U: but till now we did not get the result of the bone analysis

J: but uday all circumstantial evidence points that way

He fishes for something in his pocket

Here, look at this ring(it was a beautiful ring that got slightly burned at the edges due to the explosion) see the seal, it's the royal sign of devgarh dynasty and manyata never ever removed this ring from her hand. Now I got it from one of the finger bones

Uday looks at the ring, and moves his head away

They reach the palace and are given rooms to stay for the night as the service was early morning. They spot ajay over there. He was also one of manyata's business partners. Jaggat held uday's hand to prevent him from ripping ajay's head. Ajay just gave him a mock smile and nothing else

Mr shark looked at the mourning family and smiled with contempt

"what good actors they make" he thought😉

They all retired to their rooms

A big photo of manyata was kept in the durbar, a huge room supported with pillars from all sides. The person(the two faced family member)walked towards that room and looked at the smiling photo of manyata and said

"Manyata, now your dead and finally all this will be mine . I always hated you since the time you were born, now you're dead and this is the happiest day of my life, my eyes are so swollen pretending to cry and all those over acting I did, got to go rest now, b-e-t-a(stressing each letter). Finally no more pretence of love and affection are needed, I can now be free

A sound of anklets echoed in the durbar

Person: who is it?

There was no reply

The sound of anklets continued. A faint shadow like white figure was moving there

P: who is it? I say you come out

Still no reply

The sound of anklets continued. The figure seemed to come closer and closer

P: w who is it? (a fear evident)

The person quickly went to the dining room and took a big knife kept for cutting fruits .the person held it and walked into the room

There was a figure at the end of the room next to manyata's photo. It was manyata, dressed in white , but the scene in front was a creepy one,she looked unnaturally white . her back was facing the person

The person held the knife ready to strike that figure

P: manyata if I can kill you once, I can also kill you again, even if you're dead. You dare to haunt me

And the person moved forward to strike that figure

Suddenly something like a piece of thin rope came out of the blue and tightened around the person's neck ,the person was shocked and tried to remove it but could not

The unearthly figure of manyata turned and faced that person

M: how could you do this to me, where not we a loving family.i loved you dearly. Then why did you do this

P: please leave me

M: answer me first

P: right (trying to remove the rope around the neck but failing to do so)I hate you that is why

Manyata was about to say something when someone called that person's name she quickly left that place warning that person that all was not over and that she would return

The person feared to remain there alone and moved away soon

The palace was very noisy that morning, the place was swarming with police officers they were in the middle of a heated discussion centering brijrag and jaggat .soon all the people staying in the palace for manyata's memorial service gathered there . ajay stood besides uday, but both did not notice it

B: leave me , I say your arresting the wrong person, I will sue you

J:sir(as he was on duty , so no relations are considered)I have enough evidence to support my statement. Now we have to leave. You are under arrest

Komal comes there and asks

K: what's all this jaggat, what did brig do?

J: I am arresting him for conspiring the murder of princess manyata

K: what?

J: you heard it right

K: what evidence do you have?

J: enough evidence to land him in jail

K: no you don't have any evidence, you are just framing him(komal is getting more and more angry)

J: yes I have, don't try to disrupt my duty

K: you cant arrest him😡

J: yes I can.

K:(komal in a rage)he did not kill her😡

J: then did you

K: yes I did😡

There was a big silence in that room. No one spoke anything.komal realizes what she had just said and hangs her head in shame

J: so you gave the killer the contract to kill manyata?

K:yes (very sofly)

J: but why? She was your daughter

K: yes I did give birth to her, but I had no other option. Her father giriraj knew I loved brigraj, but he wanted me , what giriraj wants he gets, so I was forced to marry him, it was not a marriage of love .each day he came drunk and hurt me, hit me force me to do things I hated. I just could not forget brij. He knew it and hurt me more.Then I became pregnant, I hated the child as I hated her father

I could not kill the child and I gave birth to her one year later giri died and I was free. Maa saab allowed me to remarry as the young child needed a father , I married brig and was happy. But manyata continued to remind me of him, all the things he did to me

He left everything for his daughter . what did I get after everything I suffered nothing, but I was one of the trusties of the fortune. I had access to all money I needed. But as manyata turned 21 she took over the company and iam left with nothing , back to the previous situation

So I employed a assassin to have her killed. Yes I killed her, If it was possible I would have killed her with my own hands

"then kill me now , maa" said a voice

All looked at the source of the sound . there stood manyata live and beautiful.

M: don't look surprised, I am not dead it was a drama to catch the conspirator in my own family. Forgive me people, if I did not catch the person soon my life would be endangered again

B: komal how could you think that way, manyata was like our own daughter , no our own daughter

Ds: komal why did you do this?

J: maa, why maa why?

Jaggat: arrest her

M: jaggat there is one more person to be arrested here, she said looking at mr shark

J: who

M: mr shark, the notorious criminal, for killing rohan and many other innocent lives

J: who is he? That bas**d

Manyata pointed her finger towards the place where mr shark stood. Finally she had unmasked mr sharkin front of the world
