Hey guys.

I just wanted us all to have a moment of silence for the poor soul who passed away today.

It's scary to think that it might have been any of us, at her position. Circumstances have made it her, she didn't deserve it one bit.

I hope she rests in peace, wherever she is. God give her family the strength to overcome this tragedy.

I salute you. For fighting for so long, when the odds were against you.

Her name was Nirbhaya, according to the media (pointed out by a member of this forum, thank you). We don't know if that was her real name. We may never know too.. It means Fearless.

Frankly, I would rather the world ended than to have to witness such barbaric and inhuman acts by people.

God bless her soul. May she be at peace and my sincere condolences with her family. I cannot even begin to imagine what a horrific experience this would've been for all those involved.

And please excuse my language, but those good-for-nothing twats (can't call them men) deserve the death penalty. And if not that, they deserve to be castrated, so they can never do something like this again.

Karma - What goes around, comes around.

I was so horrified by the entire thing. And there are thousands of these rapes that are happening every second. Hers is just one story we've heard of.

Right at this very second, a girl is being raped.

I know, they should be castrated. Those ____________ deserve the worst kind of pain known to man.

I agree completely. I am ashamed to be associated with such worthless beings, even by species. They are monsters, not humans. It is unfortunate that this girl's life had to be sacrificed to bring such awareness about the issue of horrific rapes that occur, what will the national uproar and protests that've occurred.

I'm really glad that you made this post because I wanted to say something related to this... I honestly REALLY feel ... Disgusted... Ashamed... And words cannot describe what I feel in my heart regarding this atrocious incident. I just... As in right now before I make this post... I gave her a moment of silence as a sign of utmost respect and kudos to this girl. I hope that God helps her family to pass through this phase of tragedy ... But most of all... I BEG God..to give this girl's soul justice... I don't know if any action has been taken towards those ...those... I really don't have words to describe those guys that did this... BUT..I hope that the country takes action against them and punish them SEVERELY... I DEMAND JUSTICE for that girl...

I may not know who she was...
I may not know her family...
I may not know ANYTHING about that girl... BUT if there IS something I know... It's that .. She did NOT deserve ANY of those heinous tortures done to her..

R.I.P.

I respect you immensely because of your fighting spirit.. And I pity those people who did this.. Because they probably don't respect their mothers and sisters that's why they do such disgusting and horrendous crimes.

Her name was Nirbhaya. It means Fearless.

The most appropriate name for this braveheart.

R.I.P girl. She is a symbol of countless Indian women's struggling against oppression, and crimes of the worst kind. Such a tragedy.

It's terrible that we needed such a horrific crime to take notice... A country where a women gets molested every 26 minutes as per one statistic, and this only refers to reported cases.

BTW, Nirbhaya, Amanat and Damini were names given by the media. It is against the law to divulge the victim's name and these were given by different media houses... Times, NDTV, etc. to identify her.

I believe her brother was upset that some media chose to give her a name. At least that's what NDTV reported a few days ago.

We will never know her real name... It doesn't matter... Because she will remain in our hearts as the girl who fought back, the girl who wanted justice and the girl who wanted to live.

And I hope our fight against partriarchal establishments and mind sets, against the system continues... So justice prevails and there comes a time when every girl or woman in our country can breathe safe.

Thank you for pointing out that it wasn't her real name. I wasn't that sure to if I was in the right.

I know, I'm so disheartened by the turn of events.

I don't know where the world is heading. Humanity is lost.

Its the darkest hour for every woman in the world and a shame for humanity. I heard this news in the morning and am still disturbed. Her soul will know no rest until those demons are given horrifying deaths. Capital punishment to those animals and nothing less.

R.I.P Damini and all our prayers and solidarity to her family.

I am ashamed to live in a society that targets us because we are women and even more ashamed to be around men who are not human, but ruthless brutal monsters. :-(
