The four of them reached the hospital sharp at 7:45. Jeevika was already there making some arrangements for Veera. She soon took Veera inside this huge room, which was reserved just for her. They all waited for the doctor to come in and start the process. Virat had to leave before the doctor came in as he had to meet up with Veera's counselor to explain the whole situation.
dr - "Hi Veera, so we based upon your blood reports from yesterday I'm going to be giving you a stronger dosage of chemo that we expected. It maybe a little painful towards the end as you'll start getting body aches. Bt don't worry as soon as you feel like its getting intolerable we'll give you some medications to help. I'm going to inject you now okay?"
Veera nodded but she was scared. She looked at her brother for comfort who was wiping away her tears and holding onto her hand tightly as the doctor started injecting her. The doctor left some time thereafter and Veera started to fall asleep. Well she pretended to be asleep in the hopes that Viren and Jeevika would talk everything out again and she would get a chance to listen. They didn't say a word to each other. Instead Jeevika got out her books from her bag and started reading as she had a final in one of her classes soon. Viren just sat there next to Veera, occasionally glancing at Jeevika. He always loved her big beautiful eyes that would always sparkle. After an hour or so'
viren - "I'll go pick up some food for us. I'll be right back"
Viren left and Veera thought this was the most perfect opportunity to talk to Jeevika. She slowly opened her eyes making it seem as she just woke up.
veera - "Jeevika?"
jeevika - "Hey veera, you alright?"
veera - "I could be better, but can I ask you something?"
jeevika - "Go ahead"
veera - "Do you still love him?"
jeevika - "Who?"
veera - "My brother? You know he told me everything about you from what you like to do to how gorgeous you are. But he never showed me a picture of you or told me your name cause he thought i would stalk you on Facebook or twitter or something. He really loves you"
jeevika - "Veera, somethings are just not meant to be"'
veera - "I agree with you, but sometimes second chances are there. I kind of feel somehow that God send me here to bring you two back together. You know he didn't love Maya and he never did anything with her. She had blackmailed him many times on getting him fired at the law firm, but he didn't care. And that night when you saw him picking her up, it was all her plan at first. Viren bhai knew she wanted to separate the both of you and he promised to never see her again. But that one night when you saw him picking her up it's because she was wasted. Someone used her and trashed her and he just wanted to help her. He could never even think of breaking your trust"
Jeevika was confused. It seemed hard to believe what she was saying and she wanted to believe Veera. Had she made a huge mistake?
veera - "I want you to be there for him because he's a better person when you're around. He doesn't stop thinking about you and I think it would be fair to say that he loves you a little more than me which I don't mind. I mean if you and him get back together, you'll be like my older sister. Well you already are based on how much you've done for me the past few days, but it will be more official"
Jeevika was crying, but Veera brought a smile to her face. Viren came in soon after and saw both his favorite ladies in a deep conversation. Jeevika quickly wiped away her tears. Viren noticed it, but didn't say anything to her. He handed her a cup of coffee and a bowl which seemed to have her favorite Chinese food in it.
viren - "Sorry kiddo, you can't eat yet"
veera - "Its okay, as long as my bhabhi *cough* I mean Jeevika can eat it, its okay" she smiled at Viren and winked at him.
The doctor came in periodically. After a few hours she came to give some more medicine to her. Veera was starting to get ansy and uncomfortable. The doctor told her to pull through another half an hour and then she would be released. Jeevika just strolled her hands through her hair as she fell asleep again, in reality this time. Viren was holding Veera's hand also. Veera's body started shaking crazily, it seemed like she was having a stroke. Jeevika quickly paged the doctor and buzzed the emergency button on Veera's bed. The doctor came in quickly and told Viren and Jeevika to go outside. Viren had started crying and Jeevika held onto his hand for support. They wanted to know what was happening to poor Veera. The doctor came out after sometime and informed the two of them how Veera's body wasn't responding well to the new medications. She told them that it was just a matter of a few more months before Veera would leave them. Her cancer level had come back double in the blood report that the one in India hence the doctor gave a stronger chemo session, but her body was to weak to take it. They were going to try a few other treatments, but didn't know what the success rate of that would be. Virat was there too now and couldn't believe what he was hearing. The three of them were shocked and Virat and Viren were in bad shape.
jeevika - "Virat can you stay here with Veera. I'll take Viren home for bit and we'll be back soon"
Jeevika left with Viren and drove to her apartment. Viren was still not believing anything that was happening. Why was this happening to him for the second time? First his dad, and now his sister would leave him too? Jeevika got out the car and walked hand in hand with Viren to her apartment. She went to make him some coffee as he sat on the sofa staring at the ground. She gave him the coffee, but he refused to drink it.
jeevika - "Viren listen, you have to be strong for Veera. You're her older brother and you're her main support. The love and respect she has for you is out of this world. I know this is hard for you, its hard for all of us right now. We will give her every happiness in this world okay? She will do everything she wanted to and won't regret anything. Please you have to be strong for her"
Viren just started crying more and hugged Jeevika really tightly. Jeevika hugged him to and enjoyed being in his arms. She hated the fact that it was because of a sad thing like this, but she was back in the arms of her true love.
jeevika - "I love you Viren"
Viren broke the hug and just looked at Jeevika. Jeevika got up and took him to her room where she told him to lay down for a bit. She was leaving the room, until Viren held her wrist and signaled her to stay with him. Viren fell asleep soon in Jeevika's arms and jeevika couldn't get enough of him. She couldn't believe it that she was with her Viren again, and it was all because of the sweet angel god had sent, Veera. Jeevika fell asleep soon too in his arms. Viren woke up after a few hours and saw Jeevika right next to him. As he was getting up Jeevika woke up. He knelt down on one knee and took a ring out from his back pocket.
viren - "Jeevika, I love you more than you can ever imagine. You are my first and last love. Will you please mary me? My life will not be complete without a life partner like you"
Jeevika just nodded yes and Viren put the ring on her finger. She grabbed Viren giving him a hug first and then she kissed him like she never had before. There was something different about this kiss, it felt more passionate and more real than it ever did.
jeevika - "I love you Viren. I'm sorry for not having trusted you before. You are my everything. And how did you have this ring with you"
viren - "I love you too and I'm sorry for not being more responsible. And for the ring, well I never let go of it. I kept it with me everywhere and anywhere I went hoping that one day you would take back the thing that belonged to you"
Jeevika just smiled at her now fianc.
viren - "If you don't mind, can we go and tell the person whose responsible for this. I think she would be out of the world happy to see us back together"
jeevika - "Let's go"
Viren and Jeevika went back to the hospital. This time they entered hand in hand. They knew that Veera would be the happiest seeing them two together, and at the back of their minds they knew this was something she really wanted to happen. Viren and Jeevika entered her room and found Virat sitting next to her on a stool asleep with his head on her bed.
jeevika - "Virat, why don't you go freshen up. Me and Viren are here now. Go get yourself some coffee"
Virat left soon after and they were both waiting for Veera to get up now. As she opened her eyes she saw her brother and Jeevika standing right next to each other. They were so close it was kind of heard to believe it, and Veera felt as if she was dreaming.
viren - "Hello my princess, how are you feeling?"
veera - "Am i really dreaming or are you both holding hands?"
jeevika - "we're holding hands, but we have to tell you some big news too?"
veera - "What?!?!"
Jeevika showed Veera her hand and she noticed the big ring on her finger.
veera - "Did my stupid bhai finally propose to the bestest girl in the world?"
Viren smacked her head jokingly.
veera - "That means you're almost officially my bhabhi right? OMG this is the best gift of my life. Bhai can I tell you something. I already knew that I didn't have much time left. That's the reason I left everyone in India, to come here to you and Virat bhaiya. I'm not sad at all that I don't have time left, I just want to see the day where I get to see you get married and maybe have a baby"
viren - "Veera, you will be there for everything. You're not going anywhere from us okay. Don't ever think that"
veera - "Incase I do, just make sure my niece and nephew aren't like boring as you are okay. Please"
virat - "Hello what about me?"
veera - "I'm not concerned about you at all, you're such a stud I'm sure some girl will fall for you"
virat - "Very funny, by the way congrats bhai and soon to be bhabhi"
veera - "So now can we start the wedding plans? Please please please?"
