PART 23

FLASHBACK CONTINUES!

One day,

Geet was sitting all alone in the park, she was not able to digest the news that her parents passed away. She was going in depression as the doctor said seeing her gloomy and murky behavior. Her parents died in the 9/11 plan crash. Her parents were archaeologists and went to California for some work.

Geet's mother Rano left Geet with Meera, as they were going to return at night. But that drastic event took everything away from a little angel.

Nt and Meera tried every possible way to make her happy, but all their efforts went in drain cuz Geet didn't even glance at them.

A boy was playing with his ball, in the park when he saw a chunk of pink skin sitting all alone. He looked at her closely, 'she's cute!' he thought.

He looked here and there to see any of her friends but there was no one. Everyone was busy in their own world, playing with their friends but she was the only girl sitting all alone.

He went towards her and sat on the other side of the bench. She sensed that someone was sitting beside her but did not bother to look up.

10 minutes passed but both of them didn't say a word to each other. At last the boy asked her: you are new here, right?

Geet didn't reply.

"Hi I am Virat!, I live here only you see that black gate there, that my house."

He pointed towards the black door with his finger, but Geet didn't looked up. He was not sure whether she was even interested in his talks or not.

He again tried: Ahh' where do you live?

Geet just stayed quiet. He frustratingly stood up and said, "Itni der se mein tumse baat krne ki koshish ka raha hun tum pagal ho kya? Or are you deaf or dumb? Haan!"

Geet said at last: I am not deaf or dumb!

Virat sighed in relief: chalo kuch toh bola. Tumhe huya kya h? why are sitting all alone here, where are your friends?

Geet looked up at him with her doe eyes filled with tears: I don't have friends. My all friends are in New York. I don't know anyone here. I don't want to live here I want to go back to my home, to my parents!

Virat: Okay okay don't cry at least ( he wiped away her tears with his hankie) where are your parents?

Geet: Meera mom says they went to God's home because now I am a grown up child na, so I don't need them. But I need them.

Virat understood as his own chachu told him the same story when he was 5 yrs old and his parents died. But now he was grown up and understood each and everything.

Virat: haan, dekha ,You are such a big girl now! You really dnt need your parents sweetie! And friends, don't worry about that we both are friends from now on okay.

Geet: you will be my friend!

She asked in excitement, at last she got one friend in India.

Virat: Of course, chlo friend apna naam toh batao.

Geet: my name is GEET.

Maan called her several times, "geet! Geet! Geeettt!!!!!.

He shook her hand and she came out of her world and looked at him expressionless.

Maan: Geet ghar aa gaya h? So will you please get down now!

Geet just silently came out of the car and walked towards the door of the house. 'yeh sab kya h Geet! Again you are thinking about the past, voh vapas nhi aane vale, pata h an tujhe still!'

Maan watched her keenly. To him, she looked like a walking mannequin. She was walking senseless and was going to trip on the stairs when Maan rushed to save her.

She was going to fall down when, someone caught her, and she closed her eyes tight in fear. But when she inhaled the strong cologne of Maan, her eyes slowly opened and she looked at him.

He looked at her eyes, which were dark, and little bit hurt can be seen in them. He frowned and she immediately pushed him a little bit so that she could stand back on her feet.

Nt and Dev also reached there and Nt opened the door and everyone went inside. Dev went in the kitchen to make coffee for everyone and Geet excused herself saying she is not feeling good.

Maan sensed that something was bothering her. Maan thought, 'gaddi mein bhi pata nhi kahan khoyi huyi thi. Huya kya h iss ladhki ko? Kuch batati bhi toh nhi h.'

Maan dismissed his thoughts thinking it must her health, she is till not fully recovered. After sometime he went back to the HQ. Dev and Nt went to take rest.

Later at night,

Dev came inside Geet's room. She was sitting on her bed with her back resting on the bed rim and pillows supporting her. She was lost in her own world.

Dev cleared his throat and geet instantly looked at the source of her distraction. It was Dev, she made an angry face and twitched her lips and looked to the other side clearly indicating that she is not interested in talking.

Dev sighed hopelessly and sat on her bed. He took her hand in his hands called her, "Gappu!"

She didn't look at him.

Dev: Geet, Please yaar I am sorry. You are my saali na, maaf nhi kregi apne jiju ko! Dekh tere kitne saare secrets mujhe pata h haina. Soch agar mein voh sab teri behen ko bata dun toh kya hoga tera!

Geet looked at him angrily: aap mujhe blackmail kar rhe ho?

Dev: No not at all, meri itni himmat. Mein to bus keh raha tha ki'. Dekh' your health comes first to us Geet, uske baad sare competitions. Isliye mein tujhe mana nhikar raha hun competition mein part lene ke liye. I am just saying ki eri tabyat theeek ho jane de then'..

Geet interrupted in between:Iska matlab I can take part in the competition!

Dev: Nooo'.. I said agar tabyat theek ho jati h toh, and as I see you are not fine at all and your competition is few days away only! So 90% chances are for NO.

Geet sighed and pouted. Dev patted her head, bid her good night and went out. Geet thought, 'mein theek hun na hun, competition mein toh part lekar hi rahungi chahe kuch bhi ho jaye. Chahe yeh mera akhri competition hi kyun na ho!' She picked her cell and asked raghav about the participation form. He informed her that he registered their names and got the extra form for her.

Geet smiled evilly and cut the call and went to sleep. But sleep was no where near her as her thoughts again made way in her head,

FLASHBACK

Geet was now 18 years and Virat is now 20 yrs. She got a scholarship from her school of 20,000 rupees. She straight away went to show it to Virat but Raheem chachu informed her that he went out with his friends for some work.

Geet: mujhe pata h unka kaam, aaj mene kaha tha ghar par rehne ko but nhi meri kabhi sunni h unhone.

Chachu: Arey nahi meri gudiya, usse sach mein kaam h tha. Voh army ke forms nikalne the na aaj ussi ki details jama karvane gaya h voh.

Geet: Ohoo, mein toh bhul hi gayi. Acha unhe kehna ki sidha ghar aayen aur aap unhe mat batana ki I got the scholarship' okay'

She said this and rushed out of the house and went straight to her home and showed the scholarship to Meera and Nt. Meera was so proud of her daughter and Nt just hugged her tight and promised a party from her side.

Virat who just entered his house, was informed that Geet came and'

He left hearing the name Geet only. They both shared a relation that was more than just a brother and sister relation. They both cant live without each other.

He entered Geet's house, which was his second home and saw her jumping on the sofa and Meera showing food inside her mouth and scolding her.

He just roared: Geet khana gale mein atak jayega, theek se bethkar kha!

That was enough to make Geet sit down quietly. Meera smiled and made her eat the rest of the food.

Geet looked at him and then the food, and then towards Meera. Meera understood that she won't eat now as her virat bhaiya came and she will tell him the whole seminar story.

She took the plate with her in the kitchen and geet went towards him, grabbed him and make him sit on the sofa.

Geet: Pata h I got the scholarship!!!!!! Yipieee.

( I still remember the time when my didu told me that she got her scholarship I was also happy like Virat only )

Virat: really!! Ohh meri gudiya I am sooo proud of you.

Geet narrated the whole story of her day at the college and then asked at last.

Geet: what about your selection?

Virat looked at her twinkling eyes and then sighed.

Virat: Voh'. Actually'.

Geet sensed that something was wrong and asked: aap select nhi huye kya?

Virat: no,'. I mean yes.. passed all the tests but'.

Geet: Ohoo fir kya tension! Oye balle balle two two good news.

Virat: but' Geet' meri baat toh sun..

Geet: kaho!

Virat: actually voh meri training yahan delhi mein nhi, balki Guwahati mein karengey.

That was it, Geet just rushed inside her room and didn't talk to anyone for the whole day. She got the biggest shock, HER BHAI GOING AWAY FROM HER! She just went on crying and crying. "How could he just go!"

Virat tried to make her understand, but she just didn't listen to anyone.

Next day

He was going to Guwahati,

She was sitting in her room crying, when virat came and said: Geet mein jaa raha hun. Aaj bhi baat nhi karegi?

The door opened and she just ran towards him and hugged him tight and cried her heart out. He just held her tight to him and said: I will come back, promise!

FLASHBACK ENDS

She scoffed remembering his words.

She slept after sometime.
