Lioness Club of Vasant Vihar released a 15 minute long documentary film, titled "Ek Aur Prananjali", on HIV/AIDS in association with Maverick Productions on October 2, at a hotel in Deonar.

Dr Anuj Saxena, the tele-actor who also makes an appearance in this documentary film graced the occassion as the chief guest. A major portion of the film opens with a talk on AIDS and its treatment. The film spells hope to the victims as it revolves around how it is possible for an AIDS victim to lead a healthy life with proper treatment.

Speaking to CG Plus, the club's president Mala Shetty, states, "It is a part of our service week. Last year, we released a film on how to prevent the disease; the stress was on how to avoid having unprotected sex.

Now the focus is on the treatment aspect. We want to send the message that AIDS does not mean end of life. It is possible to lead a healthy life. Our mission is to show the film to the youth across the colleges in the city."

While releasing the film Dr Anuj Saxena, remarked "It gives me immense satisfaction to be associated with a social cause like this." The function was also attended by the staff of K J Somaiya hospital located near Sion.

Briefing us on the other projects undertaken by the club during the service week Manisha Thorat, secretary of the club, says, "We have sponsored fruits for the children of Sevadaan.

Similarly, we have tried to meet immediate requirements of various schools like giving health snacks for the poor children attending Balwadis in slum pockets of Lal Dongar, etc. Our members are visiting senior citizens homes and other social organisations in the suburb.

Providing 15 Jaipur feet, free of cost, to the underprivileged and donating sensory balls to the mentally handicapped children at the Shartul School, in Ghatkopar are few of our major projects."
