Dilshad and Zoya...these two women are the reasons why I watch QH and today both stood their grounds and moved forward a step closer in my heart...

Dilshad has always been the epitome of grace...dignity...and courage. She was the woman who was rejected and deserted by a man who never stood by her when he needed him the most...she brought up her children all by herself which is praiseworthy especially considering the patriarchal society she is part off. But what she did today was beyond anything I anticipated...she forgave the man who wronged her and her children. "To 'forgive and forget' is among the best deeds of a great person."Did Rashid deserve forgiveness? No he doesn't...but why did Dilshad feel it was necessary to forgive him at this time...was it her weakness seeing Rashid on the ground ? Maybe or maybe not ? But what I felt is that it was necessary for Dilshad to forgive him to move on forward with her life. My question is: which is more difficult to forgive or to live with anger and resentment? Forgiveness is indeed difficult. But carrying around a huge burden of bitterness and anger is more difficult and brings us nothing of value. This negative feeling spirals into hostility until it tears down a person completely. The only way to end the downward spiral of bitterness is with forgiveness. Dilshad did the same...she forgave Rashid because it was important for her to move on...I don't feel Rashid should have that power on Dilshad for her to have any kind of feelings for him...it's just not worth it. So does it mean that Dilshad is a weak person...absolutely not...Forgiveness is not a sign of weakness. It is an act of strength. It takes courage to forgive and let go and Dilshad did the same.

But saying that I do want to make a note that all crimes against women shouldn't be forgiven or forgotten...atrocities against women ...rape...kidnapping...domestic violence...molestation...manhandling...Eve teasing...even casual flirting should be reported and the accused should be punished. Some crimes cannot be forgiven or forgotten.

Zoya my girl brought a huge smile on my face when she rejected Asad's help and had the courage to show him what she is made off. She is not the women whose spirits would be crushed by an ordeal in life...she would not fall into pieces...but would stand up to face it. I am still hoping once she is physically strong she reports the criminals...it seems Asad has no intentions in reporting Akram. Anyways...I was extremely delighted to see Zoya making it very clear to Asad about his very regressive and judgmental views.

A huge applaud to all my fellow women who take a stand in their life to protect themselves and their very precious children and loved ones...each and everyone of you is my inspiration.

Priyanka

Priyanka, what a beautiful post. I agree, Dilshad and Zoya are amazing characters to watch. I loved how Zoya handed it to Asad. She is simply adorable.

In addition to admiring the qualities you mentioned, I also love the equation between Dilshad and Zoya. She treats Zoya just like her daughter.

Beautifully written post by you Priyanka! You've penned down everything I was feeling whilst watching the episode today.Dilshad is one character that makes me feel so good about everything as she has this warm radiant aura about her that feels so soothing and calming and the dignity and grace she carries herself with is just something else.To me she is the most elegant, graceful female character on Indian Tv I've ever come across and today she also stole my heart some more when she forgave Rashid for all the pain and hurt he's caused her and your right!A cowardly man such as Rashid who chose money over love, wife and kids does not deserve her forgiveness but her being the bigger better person was able to do it so that both can move on in life. The more I see of Dilshads character revelation the more I want to better myself as a women as a person who has less ill feelings towards people and who is a good example for other women.Zoya is also another gem of a female character who's strength and spirit I just love and admire.I am glad she gave Asad a piece of her mind and told him how judgemental of a person he really is but I would have loved it even more if she had left his house and I am still hoping that she does exactly that when she is feeling better and also sees to Akhram and co getting the punishement they deserve since Asad still doesn't seem to have done anything at all about it...so on that part a major dissapointment!

I love the relationship between Dilshad and Zoya...she not only treats her like daughter but they have a special understanding between them...a special softness...a sense of belonging.

Thanks Shaz...Dilshad's character inspires me. It made me very emotional while I watched her today...I could see the pain in her eyes while she mentioned Rashid that he chose money over her and the kids. Gosh...what a coward Rashid is ? I am just appalled by his audacity to enter and play with Dilshad's life at his own convenience. He made his bed and hence he has to lay on it now. I was so happy to see Zoya back with her spirits...showing Asad exactly the way things are. I do hope she reports the whole incident...it looks like Asad is not going to do anything about it.
