Every culprit involved in zoya's kidnapping and torture should be charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault. Both is considered haneous crimes and should be shown as such accordingly. Each and everyone involved should know that they simply cannot get away with this crime they have committed including the women involved.
Just showing Asad fighting the goons and rescuing Zoya is not enough...there has to be a proper awareness and rightful action has to be taken. People simply cannot get away by kidnapping a woman in broad daylight by terrorizing and threatening her ... this is happening too often to too many women. in the wake of the recent diabolical crime of the Delhi gang rape which has left the world in shock...many 'solutions' have been put forward by people across the entire social spectrum. While some have demanded capital punishment for the ones accused, others have put their fingers on life imprisonment, and yet others have zeroed in on chemical castration. Opinions are many, varied, and will perhaps never be unanimous. There will be differences, and there will be debates. What really needs to be answered is whether or not we, as women, will be able to live a life which is an iota more safe and peaceful than the ones we have been leading thus far. For while Delhi boils with pent-up anger, the rest of the country is loyally pouring in reports of gang rapes and kidnapping from their bowels. And gradually, people are getting close to the miserable, hopeless realization that perhaps a real 'solution' is far from being transformed into reality.
This is the right time to send a message that such haneous crimes like kidnapping and rape will not go unpunished. We as women of every part of life will be able to walk on the streets in any hour of the day without having to look behind to see who is following us or am I safe. Unfortunately in reality there are no Asad's coming to our rescue...we are alone and have to fight it out ourselves as hard as we can.
