Like JTHJ for example... it stuck around due to star power, but it didn't have the best word of mouth, hence it didn't go around breaking records.

If a movie is critically acclaimed, but doesn't do well, it's probably due to lack of stars or lack of effective advertising.

But yeah, a status of a film - disaster, flop, below average, average, above average, semi-hit, hit, superhit, blockbuster, ATBB - depends on profits and money; not whether people liked it or not. But if a movie makes a lot of money... the majority probably liked it.

Take a example for JTHJ the movie worked coz it has SRK+Yashji+ARR music. Many would say movie was so good coz their fav in it some would really like it. Now look movie making so much but coz people who went to watch and spent their money but it did not showed did ppl relaly liked it. I think thats what called business is. Well I guess in this industry these things works.

BO status is not a deciding factor or rather a parameter to decide whether a movie is good or bad quality wise. It depends on the output of the movie and also the viewer's choice

For example a critically acclaimed movie with less BO will satisfy one viewer while disappointing another vise versa. But there are instances where a BO blockbuster caters to viewer's expectations. It's very subjective
