" That's it bro !!! whatever may be the result..now...I cant hold back !! ", Yudi said with finality, " I am gonna go and confess everything to shalini maam ! "
" Eh nautanki...kahi yeh sab batate time usko 'maam' mat bolna.."
" Chief ! You are making me conscious ! "
Aalekh gave him a 'whatever' look...but as he started to leave...
" Yudi !! ", aalekh called him and he halted.
" Tere aajkeliye boletoh...All the best ! pan apun tereko kuch kehna chahta hai...dekh...yeh pyaar hai...koi jung nahi..pyaar aur war ka yeh fark kabhi bhulna matt..."
" Can you make it clear chief?"
" Jung mein jeetna hi sabkuch hota hai aur Pyaar mein haar jeet ki koi shart nahi hoti...samjha?"
Yudi seemed confused...Aalekh gave him a hopeless look and..
" Chal chod na...tu watakle abhi..."
and Yudi left...

" Come in.", Shalini said as somebody knocked the door of shalini's room.
" Yudi ! Tum yaha?", Shalini asked concerned, " Anything urgent cadet? Are you alright?"
" yes maam...", yudi fumbled, " sure maam.."
" Toh fir tum yaha kya kar rahe ho? Kuch hi der mein main infirmary aane hi waali thi..."
" Woh..woh..Woh maam..", Yudi stammered, all the previous confidence gone, " woh.."
" Come inside.." , shalini smiled.
She offered him water as he sat restlessly on the couch.
" Ab kaho."
Shalini had guessed why he came there and she was feeling somewhat morose considering what was going to follow...
meanwhile Yudi composed himself ... but before he could say...
" Yudi..tum mujhpar kitna trust karte ho?", shalini asked.
" Excuse me maam?", Yudi asked confused.
She looked at him and asked in a firm voice, impressing upon each word, " Tum mujhpe KITNA TRUST KARTE HO?"
" You know that I trust you maam."
She smiled.
" I know...but I wont ever hurt you...intentionally...and will always be truthful to you...Can you trust me on this ?"
" Definitely maam ! "
Yudi wasnt understanding why exactly shalini was saying all this.
She sighed and looked at him.
" I know what exactly you want to say Cadet. But Yudi...i want to say something... I'm aware of your feelings for me...and.."
" Maam, aap agar apne past ko lekar pareshaan hai..toh let me tell you onething...mujhe aapke past se koi farak nahi padta...please give yourself one chance maam ! kisi useless aadmi ki wajehse aap..."
" Yudi...don't I know? Main jaaanti hu ki tumhe mere past se koi farak nahi padta...and believe me when I say even i tried to give myself a chance...aur its only because of you that I thought of doing so...warna...mere life mein aaye past experiences ki wajehse.."
she looked away to stop her tears..
Yudi wanted to comfort her...but things happening then froze him...
He knew what was coming...that his heart was going to be broken...
" Yudi...believe me when i say, I tried...I tried to love you..but..but I couldnt bring myself to think of you as more than a friend.."
She held his hand.
" Yudi...you are my best friend ! The bestest ever ! The sweetest and cutest one ! But...but I don't love you, Yudi ! "
She was crying as she glanced at tears rolling down his cheeks..
" I am sorry yudi..I know i've hurt you badly...I'm really sorry..."
Yudi looked down...
Now he understood why Aalekh said that " Pyaar aur jung mein bahot fark hota hai..."
He smiled..., " You were so right chief ! You are always right.."
" Yudi...", Shalini sobbed...she was feeling terrible for hurting him...but she had to tell him this.
Yudi wiped his tears..and smiled.
" You know maam...i won't lie...I'm going through enormous pain as you said no...but...at the same time am feeling lighter...jo kuch mere mann mein tha, maine aapse kehdiya...waise bhi kisine mujhse kaha hai, Pyaar mein haar-jeet nahi hoti...and kisise jabardasti toh pyaar karwaya nahi jasakta na..."
Shalini was still crying...
Yudi went near her and gave her a loose hug...
" Maam...I understand ! I didnt love you on condition that even you should love me...ya..there was an expectation..but..but NOT condition...I'll always be thankful to you ,for the fact that, it's because of you, I could understand what love is..! "
Shalini smiled meekly...
" Those who think you are immature are the biggest fool on this earth !! Thanks Yudi !! Thanks for understanding."
He released her and smiled.
" yaah !! but remember one thing...I won't be considerate on one thing. I am...and I WILL be your best friend..", he said in a mock stern tone, " Don't you DARE give that place to anyone ! got it?"
She laughed even as a lone tear escaped her eye, " Yes."
" And maam...aap rote huye bilkul bhi achchi nahi lagti...agar koi shalini maam ko aise dekh lega toh chakkar khaake gir jayega ! we all love to see our cheerful and bubbly shalini maam ! "

Aalekh embraced him tightly as he let out all pain...
He knew Yudi was very sensitive...and to bring him back to life, he must let go of all the pain first.
Suddenly, Yudi felt a hand on his shoulder.
He looked back to see Huda regarding him with moist eyes.
" Oye Yudiye..tune toh saabit kardiya ki tu hi asli mard hai...oye dekhna...jab meri phoolan ne mujhe mana kiya toh maine uski aur captain ki life mein kitni problems create ki..aur tu dekh...oye tu toh bahot hi strong banda nikla yudiye...!"
and both hugged tightly, as Ali patted his head...
Yudi was glad...he had his friends to support him...

" What do you think? What should we do next?", Abhimanyu asked.
Raj, Abhimanyu and Gunny were sitting in Abhimanyu's room...
They were discussing over events in the past few days, attack on Raj and the lead that they got.
" I think, humein kuch samay keliye shaant rehna chahiye." , Gunny quipped.
" What are you saying Captain? ", Abhimanyu asked, " don't you think this will give Lala a respite? and besides we have got a lead..."
" I think...Gunny is right Chauhansaab.", Raj said, " Kabhi kabhi jung ladte waqt sipahi mahino tak intezaar karte...woh intezaar karte hai sahi samay ka...Aur rahi baat Lala ki..toh uski rag rag se main waakif hu..."
Raj paused for a while...and smirked..." Mentor hai mera !! Atleast itna toh janta hi hu main uske baaremein...ab woh obvious aisa khud kuch nahi karega."
" Woh khud kuch na bhi karein...par woh hai na, uska sikandar..", Gunny doubted, " Maj. Nair."
" Arey yaar Sikandar nahi...Chachundar kaho. ", Abhimanyu said as Raj smiled, " Aur hamare princi ki fikar karna chod do Captain Gunny...woh kaam aap humpar chod deejiye. Aisa network jamm karenge uska,ki academy ke bahar jaane ko tarsega."
Raj raised his eyebrows...and Abhimanyu winked,meaning "just wait and watch."
While gunny grinned...' Nair ki toh lagg gayi...'

And sure enough, Abhimanyu jammed Nair's network as he had promised...
He created situations so that it wont be possible for Nair to move out of the academy.
And along with that they were keeping their mission low profile for now and carrying out things slowly.

On the other front, Yudi and Shalini had gotten comfortable as best friends...
Initially there was awkwardness...but slowly..still surely, it subsided...and Yudi too realised that he was lucky enough to find a beautiful friend in Shalini...
That..it was meant to be this way..
Since, the training had gotten harder, Naina and Raj could hardly take out some time to spend together...and besides...they need to be discrete about their relation and their busy schedules did help them to maintain secrecy of their relation...
But still...there were times, when they managed to whisk out of everyone's sight and away from humdrums of academy, duties, constant threats and the mission, just to be with each other...
Like...on that beautiful evening...when Naina was waiting for Rajveer at the cliff...

Naina was standing still, staring in the horizon...
Suddenly she feels someone patting her shoulder...
She is jerked out of her thoughts and turns back with a startled expression.
" Aap???", she cools down...
" Haan main...Rajveer...", he said flirtatiously , " Captain Rajveer singh Shekhawat...Waise aaj ki shaam bahot khoobsurat hai ! Aur aisi khoobsurat shaam mein aap jaisi khoobsurat ladki saath ho toh..."
Naina gives a ' Oh really?' kinda amused expression.
" Woh...waise my wife is not here...issliye...", he said mischievously.
" Oh !! Actually mere husband bhi out of town hai...", she played along.
" What?? Aap shaadi shuda hai? lagti toh bilkul nahi hai...", he asked as if shocked.
" Woh kya hai na, main apni wedding ring sabse chupa kar rakhti hoon.", she smiled.
" Really? woh...waise main apne wife ko cheat nahi karta...magar aap itni beautiful ho ki..."
She raised her eyebrows.
" Maine bhi kabhi apne pati ko dhoka nahi diya...", she said quickly, " lekin...aap jaisa handsome, dashing insaan mere zindagi mein aaye toh..."
" KYA???", his face hardened suddenly and voice became stern , " Kya kaha tumne? Mere jaisa insaan tumhari zindagi mein aagaya toh ? toh mujhe chodkar chali jaogi?"
Naina was shocked at his sudden turn of mood..
" HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT NAINA???"
" RV main..."
" Main kya? haan? main toh kya? Kuch bolne se pehle soch toh liya karo...", he said angrily.
" RV it was just a joke...", she said softly.
" Dubara kabhi aisa nahi kehna !" , he warned.
" Nahi kahungi...", she touched his cheek , " I'm sorry..."
" Hmmm..."
" Lekin RV, yeh baat shuru toh aap hi ne ki thi na?"
" Main mazaak kar raha tha Nia...", he said.
" Even I was joking RV..."
" Dekho ...behes mat karo.", he said sternly , " Maine kehdiya na mujhe pasand nahi hai...toh nahi hai. Samjhi???"
" Okay baba !!! SORRY SORRY SORRY !!!" , she said holding her ears...
This brought a smile to his face and soon Naina was engulfed in a tight hug!

" Bullshit !!! stop that nonsense major ! ", barked the 'Sir' in the phone, " You very well know tumhara waha jaana is mandatory. Hum koi bhi dhaga piche nahi chodna chahte...iss baar...there will be check and mate !!"
" I understand lalaji...par...B.C...he is still commander-in-chief...technically it's very difficult forgoing his orders...and dusri taraf Captain Abhimanyu..."
but before he could continue, Maj. Nair was cut short by a roaring voice..
" Just stop giving me bloody excuses Major !! Tum kisi kaam ke nahi ho..tumhe paise kiss baat ke milte hai? yeh mat bhulo ke hamare rehmokaram pe tum wapas uss academy mein ho..pata nahi humne kyun tumhe paal rakha hai...useless fool !! "
Major Nair couldnt say anything...what was he going to say ?
" Theek hai...", Lala said, " Lagta hai, humein hi kuch karna padega...I'll let you know.."
and he slammed the phone down.

Rajveer was leaving the class after finishing his lecture, when he saw chaos near academy foyer.
Curious, he went ahead to see what exactly was happening when he came face to face with the monster himself.
Lala Gehlot had arrived unannounced along with his gamut , and B.C. was greeting him...
Rajveer could very well make out hidden lines of tension on B.C.'s face...the brigadier, surely, was reminded of the last time when Lala had arrived all of sudden...
Rajveer fixed an artificial smile on his face and went ahead to greet his so called mentor.
" Raj !!! ", said Lala with a huge smile.
How much he wanted to wipe that fake smile and affection from his face, but Raj kept quiet.
He smiled in return and went ahead to touch his feet.. Every little gesture crushing him million times...how much had he respected this man !! and what was he? A TRAITOR !!! A bloody traitor !! A murderer ! who had murdered his friend...who tried to kill him...his Naina and dont know how many patriots...
Naina was right that day...this person cant be his mentor...and he himself was surprised at his own thoughts...coz right now, all he desired was killing this beast with bare hands...damn the consequences !!
But he calmed himself...this was not Captain Rajveer...He was known for his famous perseverance...which he had gained after years of experience..he was calm...intellingent..perseverant...and strategist of first order...
and he cant lose all his virtues...not when he needed them most...he cant lose to this shrewd man...coz all he wants to do is beat Lala in his own game...and served the purpose he joined army for..!! for service of the motherland...for saving his motherland from traitors...
while all this was going on in his mind, Lala had stopped Raj from touching his feet..
" Raj !! humne aapse kitni baar kaha hai, aap hamare pair mat chua kijiye...aap hamare sabse pyaare bete hai...aapki jagah hamare dil me hai...aap humse gale miliye..."
and so the hugged each other...
" Lalasaab, aap yaha achanak?"
" Kyun? hamein dekhkar tumhein khushi nahi huyi, Raj?"
Raj smirked.
"Woh baat nahi hai...main toh yeh kehna chah raha tha...ki bahot dino baad yaad aayi apne bete ki?"
He was getting better and better in the game of pretending !
" Tum ilzaam laga rahe ho Raj?", asked Lala in his signature style, " Hum toh har pal sirf aur sirf tumhare hi baare mein sochte hai.."
Rajveer was smart enough to understand the hidden meaning...
Their converstation was interrupted as Abhimanyu arrived and greeted Lala...
They all headed to conference room for an urgent meeting..

Meeting began as soon as all the faculty of KMA gathered...
Shalini and Nandini looked curiously towards Lala and other members of defence ministry accompanying him and wondered their purpose of visit..
" Jaisa ki hum pehle bhi keh chuke hai...humein iss academy ke present working and efficiency par doubt hai..."
" But sir ", Abhimanyu interjected, " As per your demands last time, hamare admissions badh chuke hai...fall outs and desserter's are almost zero...and..."
" Captain Abhimanyu, interrupting your seniors is indiscipline..", Lala said sternly, " Aap apne Cadets ko yahi sikhate hai?"
Abhimanyu sat back...
" Anyways...", Continued Lala, " We are here to discuss the reasons for this and once again test the efficiency of academy first before we shut down the academy.."
The room was filled with the loud gasps of KMA faculty...
" But sir...", B.C. started..
" This is as per the orders of Central ministry, Brigadier..!! hum khud iss academy ko ek mauka dena chahte hai..issiliye hum yaha hai...aakhir galat kya ho raha hai..jo academy ka standard is tarah niche aa raha hai?" , Lala faked concern.
" May I have the permission to say something, Sir?" , Rajveer asked.
" Bolo Raj..."
" Sir, I really dont understand why this doubt is arising in the ministry...i mean, this is the second time...jabtak BC...", he corrected himself quickly before others could realise, " Brigadier Chandok academy ke principal the, KMA was undoubtedly the bestest military academy of the country ! It still is...but...as per your ministry..you know..."
Raj paused and let the thing sink into the devil...
" I mean to say, is the ministry doubting our academy or the LEADERSHIP of the academy.." , Raj said eyeing Maj. Nair..
And as Maj. Nair looked at him shocked, even B.C. couldnt stop a mischievous smile coming on his face... Rajveer was definitely the bestest officers he have produced..and he was proud of that..
Abhimanyu and Gunny were having smug faces seeing Lala caught in his own game...Raj had definitely thrown a googly...
But he was LALA GEHLOT after all !! A shrewd politician of first order !!!
" May be Raj...", he said closing that chapter, " Anyways...I'm here to announce a ' All-round' review program for the cadets and faculty of KMA..This program is to test the efficiency of both Cadets and Faculty...
Defence will send its officers to review KMA...unki report pe KMA ka future depend karta hai..."

Lala was sitting in Raj's room...
He observed Raj as he made coffee for him...
He was giving no signs that he doubted him to the least...Lala relaxed finally...he had doubt, that Raj was suspicious of his activities...but his present behaviour cleared all his worries...
He relaxed and took the coffee, Raj had prepared with a smug smile on his face.
" What do you think Raj? Tumhari baatein sunke humein laga ki you have doubt regarding Maj. Nair's capabilities...", Lala tried to take it out from him.
Only if he could have known his protegee well..
" Leave it Sir...", Raj smiled, " In baaton ko hum conference room mein hi chodein toh behtar hoga..aap bataiye...sherry kaisi hai?", Raj changed the topic.
" Aah !! ", Lala groaned, " Uski toh tum baat hi mat karo..ek din yeh ladki humein kahi ka nahi chodegi...itni ziddi..!! Har din ek nayi zidd !!!"
He ranted about his daughter while Raj noticed how self centered this person can get...he didnt even leave his own daughter !!
Though him and sherry were not that close, but were on good talking terms..and she was always polite as she interacted with him...
Raj could always feel that she respected him a lot and he always respected her as his Mentor's daughter, who was like a father figure to him and that making her sort of a sibling...
Lala's question brought him back from his musings and he became alert regarding what and how much to speak...

Since the moment Naina had heard that Raj was with Gehlot, she wasnt in her senses...
A deep fear engulfed her heart...

And the fact that Raj was a captain of Indian army, couldnt prevent her from being this protective and somewhat possessive...

Raj was dead tired...the whole day acting mushy and obedient around that traitor was demanding enough !!!
He was retiring for the day in his room, when he heard a knock on the door...
Thinking it must be Abhimanyu or Gunny, who must have come to discuss something, he opened the door...
But before he could understand what's happening, he felt Naina hugging him tightly in the door itself...
After few seconds, as he recovered from the impact, he pulled Naina inside, still in his embrace, and shut the door tightly.
Then he separated himself from her and stared at her sternly.
" Tumhari iss harkatt ka main kya matlab samjhu,Cadet Singh??"
Naina first looked at him, slightly shocked, but she could see the twinkle in his eyes, which he was desperately trying to hide from her..
She smiled and snugled into his neck again.
" I was scared, RV...", she whispered.
She could feel his fingers caressing her back as he responded.
" Thats what I'm asking Naina...tumhari iss harkat ka main kya matlab nikalu main? Dont you trust me?"
" I trust you !! more than myself ! But mujhe uss Lala pe bharosa nahi hai...woh aapko chot pahuchane keliye kisibhi hadd tak ja sakta hai."
He held her face tenderly and kissed her forehead.
" Arey...uski mazal jo meri Cadet Naina Ah' Singh ke hote huye woh mujhe nuksaan pohochaye?", he teased caressing her lips tenderly with his finger.
She hit his chest..." RV..!!! Jaoo! Har waqt mazak !", and tried to wriggle out of his grip...
But couldnt...as...
By then, Raj had pulled her flush against him, capturing her lips in a rapturous kiss...
