Oh absolutely, anastasia. Indian show makers can definitely learn a lesson or two about depicting relations and realationships correctly and in a realistic manner from Americans. And who ever came up with that interpretation of Americans not valuing their relationships. I mean that is such a cliched mentality and a highly judgmental opinion that a majority of Indians have.

Anyways, coming back to your point. I'm really not sure what specific American shows Ekta is borrowing concepts or getting inspired from. I couldn't think of a single show that is as horrible as even the so-called best shows that Balaji Telefilms has ever produced.

I just read today's written update and again not amused at all. So now the writers decided (most likely in their sleep) to show that Ovi doesn't want a kid and she is carrying this baby just to foster her relationship with Arjun as per Savita's advise. Can it get any better when it comes to portraying characters as extreme in EK's shows?

How far will the writers go to degrade certain characters so as to elevate a few others?
