Lakshman's temper

I have never before heard of Lakshman having such a heated temper. I was always of the belief that all four brothers were of the same nature.

Can someone tell me if he is being true to character or if the CVs have modified Lakshman a bit?

Very true Julie...i too have this doubt too..

I had requested in another post as well to the Show's team to not deviate from the original version since its our history and we would like to the actual one that happened.

actually lakshman is much more hot tempered than wht they are showing it here...lakshmana is believed to the avtaar of lord shesha hence by nature he is impulsive dedicated and EXTREMELY SHORT TEMPERED he was one who could never bear anything wrong...he threatened parsuram in the swayamvar in the original valmiki ramayana he went against king dasharatha and queen kakeyi even threatened to kill them ...in ramcharitmanas he spoke harsh words for dashratha and kakeyi wen sumantra the minister dropped ram sita and lakshman to the forest...in the exile period wen bharat came to meet lord rama lakshman became extremely furious he was so angry tht he took out the weapon and vow to kill bharata as he thought bharat has come to harm lord rama...after sitaji abduction sugreev had promised to help lord rama to find sitaji but wen he didnt turned up it was lord lakshman who grew so angry tht he went to king sugreev's kingdom and threatened him...there are other instances given in ramcharitmanas and ramayana tht clearly depicts the aggressive nature of lord lakshmana...inspite of being hot tempered lord lakshmana was highly intellect he is considered to be part soul of lord rama...his alter ego the one who completes maryada purshottam Ram...at many places lord lakshmana had guided lord rama to summon up he and lord rama are considered as nar and narayana. where lord rama is NARAYANA i represents "NAR" thts a perfect man...

here the ph have actually toned down lakshmana character he is not a angry guy but a intense and a passionate person...

yes he was very fierce and every one use to fear of his anger..he is avtaar of lord shesha...
i think only half anger is yet shown in the episodes 😆.in zee tv ramayan a more intense lakshman is shown..he was much more sarcastic also.i thought lakshman's anger is well known to all...its nothing new...😕..if u remember lakshman even cuts the nose of sooparnakha...such was his anger...😳

if u watch 1986 version there lakhshman used more sarcastic words to parshuram...

it depends what you consider as original version.😳..original as per TV shows already shown??? or as per scriptures ???...in disclaimer they have very well written some parts are taken from other versions of ramayan as well..we had a interesting discussion on it..and if you want to know more about lakshman's character..here we have created a separate thread for it...u can find some interesting tales about lakhshman and his nature...😊

aah thnx...will surely visit...for me original seems any version cos i would not want the same version which we have seen...just that i wanted the original version be it anything without any modifications made by the team 😊

I googled and found this...on Lakshman - Anger!

The anger described as regards Lord Lakshman, Lord Ram's brother was more a symbol of his intolerance against injustice, untruth etc. Lord Lakshman, being a complete Brahmachari and very spiritually enlightened was above the lower traits such as Kama or Krodha. In mythology where instances of his anger are described, it is to be known that the word anger is used to denote his fiery power against 'Adharma' and not the ordinary anger Krodha.😊

Even my mother used to always tell me that Laxman is a very hot tempered person and can't take anything against his brother.

wow krishni very interesting...yes its was his intolrenace again any injustice or bad things.
