Having read the latest news about IPK I for one, am rather delighted at the latest rumour mill.Why? The entire storyline was based on the the two leads' marked differences in lifestyle, upbringing, temperament and emotional make up. As opposite as the North and South Poles! Yet amidst this vast arrid desert of difference and never the twain shall meet, throbbing,vital and raw attraction was palpable at every meeting that took place between the pair of them.Be it anger, compassion, puzzlement, pure fury, pity, shock, amusement, endearment, ultimately and finally all these emotions leading to the one determined and unstoppable emotion they both tried to run away from...LOVE!!!
The love that ripped them apart and yet helped stay together inspite and despite all the differences, hurdles and idiocies that stood and hindered them in the run up to their ultimate goal of love. Who said the path to true love was smooth sailing!
In amongst all these chaos, displeasure from us viewers, the highs and lows of the journey of IPK and in particular the journeys of our two leads Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti has been as much in the media attention both in real and reel. Why? Very simple really. Both actors par excellence and incredibly good at their art. Both have/had such superb chemistry on set. The pair of them complimented each other in their beauty and personalities. Her fraility and his strength combined with their sizzling portrayal had us all captivated from the word go. They held the show together! They made the show what it is. Taking it to heights I would imagine no other Indian drama has been taken. International recognition, adulation and acceptance of the pure poetry in motion of this couple. Yes we moaned, we grumbled we 'bashed' ( still have problem with that rather misused word) we laughed, we loved we in the end had so much passion oozing out of every pore as regards this show be it positive or negative. Either way the attention and the frenzy we heaped on it was simply outstanding in its variety and emotion. Barun bashers, Sanaya bashers and whoever and whatever bashers, we had them all throughout the serialHowever the one thing we wanted was for Khushi and Arnav to come together and end it together. In bringing about this by pulling the plug on this show for whatever reason at this particular moment in time, to my mind, is absolutely the correct, right and honourable decision to make, take and execute. Why? There is simply no Arnav without Khushi and there is no Khushi without Arnav. Therefore there is no Sanaya Irani as Khushi without Barun Sobti as Arnav. No way in heaven or hell could someone else replace him to take over his role or even substitute as Khushi's new love interest. Sacrilege! Carnage! Outrage! So , a sad nevertheless a warm and mightily gladdened goodbye to a show that had us all enthralled, enchanted and sitting on the edge of our seats.Finally only the best wishes to SI and BS and all the other cast members for giving us something to while away our time between Mondays to Fridays waiting in eager anticipation for the story to unfold before our very eyes. Good, bad or indifferent it had us captivated in its allure, charm and crazinessSo, goodbye, sayonara, au revoir, selamat tingal, etc etc etc etc... IPKKND!!!
