Sixteen
His arms around her waist only tightened. Was this was victory truly felt like? When you feel like nothing else on this planet could make you any happier. When everything seemed so vibrant and bright and beautiful. When your heart forgets how to function because you're so overwhelmed, is this what it felt like to encounter what you desired for so long? He looked down at her, his caramel eyes meeting her hazel ones. The trace of any pain that was present before in those very same orbes were now nowhere to be seen, thankfully. His fingers drifted down her smooth milky arms till they came in contact with her hands. That sizzling feeling of his skin along hers was indescribable, it felt so perfect so right, yet it still caused thousands of tiny goose bumps to instantly stand up sending a shiver down her spine. He tightened his grip on her hand before he brought it up and molded it over his chest, where right underneath his heart was thumping away. The feeling electrifying her as her heartbeat sped up and started beating at the same time as his, like they were one now. His gaze so heated on her that her cheeks could not deepen its redness any further, she looked at him with questions in her eyes which he understood with no difficulties.
'I want you to promise me something Khushi' He requested slowly, her instant nod made him smile, although her love was so recent, her trust in him had been there from the start, maybe even from the point where he lifted her and brought her into his home as his wife. Despite she was only playing the part, she trusted him.
'I want you to promise me that you'll never leave me again. You'll stay with me forever?' He proposed, his desperation in her acceptance of this proposal was shining in his eyes just hoping it wasn't too much to ask. She looked at him; her emotion filled gaze penetrated him almost incredulously? What was she so unsure of? His heart began to speed up even further.
'How could you ask me that Arnav?' She responded in query. Arnav stiffened slightly only to see her relax at his reaction, ready to elaborate.
'It does not require the proposal of a promise Arnav. I already miss you so much, I want you back with me, so we can be together again. I've already tried leaving and it didn't work. I guess I cant live without you anyway' She finished, the corners of her mouth lifted so perfectly as she smiled at him. He melted when he saw the tease in her smile, she held the suspense on purpose.
'Khushi Kumari Gupta, were you trying to tease me?' Arnav questioned in disbelief.
'Only just Arnav' Khushi said winking. Arnav smiled back but his thoughts invading his happiness, what would they do now? He needed to share his victory with someone else, someone who also wanted this.
'Come with me' Arnav simply implied to her as he held her hand and left the building, leaving for Khushi's house.

Arnav and Khushi stepped out of his SUV and headed towards her front door hand in hand, Khushi looked at him in wonder.
'How comes you brought me home Arnav?' She asked him softly yet much confused inside. She had no idea what he was doing, especially when he turned and looked at her. The dark, mysterious yet pained emotions were in his eyes as he spoke.
'I'm here to share my happiness with my father Khushi' Arnav said, Khushi gasped helplessly as tears began to well up in her eyes. He had referred to her father as his. Arnav had lost his parents and she always felt devastated for him. Even when they were married Khushi held no expectations of Arnav doing so but surprisingly he had just completed one of her desires, it was all she could ask for. However the sudden change in state confused her, what had brought this on all of a sudden? Arnav led her to the door before knocking on it, not telling her the reason for all this was the talk they had had when Khushi was drunk after Kurana's party.
Garima opened to door and stopped as she saw her two young children standing at the door step with hands entwined. Garima's eyes watered as she leaned over to Arnav and held his face in her hands
'You did it Beta, I knew you would' Garima said so lovingly before she planted a kiss on her son's forehead. Khushi's heart filled with warmth as she saw Arnav reach for blessings but confusion couldn't help roam through her.
'Amma what on earth is going on?' Khushi whined cluelessly, Garima and Arnav shared a smirk before they looked over at Khushi.
'Lets go in then I'll explain everything' Arnav said assuring her with a squeeze of her hand, Khushi frowned before she nodded faintly and the couple stepped into their home.
'See Khushi, on the night of the part at Kurana's home Arnav beta brought you home and well, we had a little talk...' Shashi started, Khushi had no clue about their conversation
'Yes Babu ji, and?' Khushi began urging for more then that from him
'Well me and my son had a very serious conversation' Shashi said grinning, Khushi gasped and look back and forth from Arnav to her dad, did he just refer to Arnav as his son?
'Your son? What? We're not even married I don't know what's going on' Khushi said incredulously
'Khushi, your dad is my dad, whether we are together or not. And now when finally things are right I want to play the part of your husband again. I want to do this the right way now and I have your parents blessing this time. Khushi...' Arnav trailed off as he crouched on one knee and held her hands in his. 'Khushi, will you be my wife again?' Arnav asked softly. Garima and Shashi watched him in awe as Khushi's eyes welled up with tears. All Khushi could do was nod, her voice not breaking out. Arnav smiled as Khushi wrapped an arm around his neck, whispering into his ear.
'I can't believe you're closeness to my parents Arnav, that is all I could have ever asked for from the man I love, to treat me and my family right' Khushi said softly her lips brushing against the bottom of his ear 'I love you Arnav, it took me time to realize it but I still love you nonetheless' Khushi continued burying her face in his chest shyly, Arnav smiled and held her tighter.
'Forget about the time that's been wasted Khushi, we have the rest of our lives together' Arnav said, his lips ruffling the top of her hair. Khushi and Arnav were in their own world when Garima let out a fake cough causing the couple to break apart in embarrassment.
'I'll be back to officially ask for her hand in marriage tomorrow with my family' Arnav said awkwardly smiling, Shashi nodded as Arnav took his blessing and silently left happiness dwelled in him. He drove off in his car smiling the whole way home. What has she done to him? Everything Arnav ever did was for his work, heck even Lavanya was his girlfriend for good publicity at AR designs. Now nothing was about work, everything evolved around his feelings, his life, his love. AR Designs meant nothing compared to Khushi, he would have her over his work and wealth anytime. She was going to be his companion for life; the mother of his children and nothing was in the way of it. He could have her in all the ways he desired, she completely belonged to him and more then anything she wanted to. It enlightened him that she felt jealous seeing him with other women, that she desired him too even though she took her time realizing it. But that was okay because they had the rest of their lives together, forever.
Arnav walked into his home to find the whole family rush towards him like he was a fresh piece of meat. By the looks of it, NK and Akash had obviously told the whole family about todays revelation.
'Chote! Oh my God how did it go!' Anjali questioned eagerly clearly the whole family was much anticipating a rejection by looks of their worried faces. Arnav knew it'll be fun to play along for a little while
"Di... I' Arnav trailed off faking his misery, NK shot him a dead serious look
'Arnav this is no time to be an ass by messing with us okay, spit it out' NK said gripping his shoulder painfully hard, clearly not in the mood to be met by his brothers misery. Arnav felt overwhelmed, NK was actually a really caring older brother seeing how frustrated he became seeing Arnav in pain.
'Chill out everyone, we're going for the proposal tomorrow I don't want her to see such terrible faces. It only persuades her not to get married into this family again' Arnav said smirking, it was scary how fast everyone's' face changed.
'OH MY GOD CHOTE!' Anjali squealed squeezing her brother in a tight hug. Already not being able to breath the rest of the family including Nani and Mami jumped in and formed a large family hug sharing their happiness.
'Okay guys. Cant. Breathe' Arnav said painfully allowing his family to reluctantly pull away
'We have to have all the gifts and preparations and clothes ready for tomorrow! There's so much to do!' Nani expressed to Anjali and Mami as all three women walked off to get started NK patted Arnav's back as he went back to work with Akash as lunch break was over leaving Arnav to himself. Great, what that's it? no congratulations? His family were definitely blood related to him he thought. Arnav's face then lit up, he smirked and pulled out his phone.
Khushi was looking for a suite tomorrow when her phone buzzed she instantly smiled and ran to it reading each word graciously:
Babe(I think I've earned the right to call you that now) Make sure you have your window unlocked every night till our wedding, expect me in your room before you sleep ;)

Why do you need to come in through my window? Are you crazy?
Arnav smile grew as he read the message:
I thought you liked filmy stuff :(

Khushi couldn't help but laugh, he was actually quite adorable when he wanted to be:
