@ bold - once again an apt description of d malaise that has pestered this parent duo through all their efforts/non-efforts at dealing with their son's upbringing ...^^UDEY,I Don't think it's malice. An anger fortified with a just righteousness perhaps.What soured is its continuation even at his pitiable state. A viewer's backlash justified on his blatant missteps earlier, may not hold true for a parental relationship. Again, however much soured earlier- not even in fiction perhaps. For Parents may not exact 'backlash', grudge. IMO.

B's meticulous idealism n righteousness , though just , often numbed him to the plight of this hapless aberrant - his own son ! I don't say that he was willfully inflicting injury , but by withholding his empathy from his son , Bhairav was pushing him further on the path of distruction ...
But then we got some closure after all ... when Bhairav embraced his 'subah kaa bhoolaa' 😛
