Here you go, Niky🤗
Stefan and Elena, two people whose names when taken in one breath feels complete. He taught her how to live, she taught him how to EXIST.
Stefan walked into Elena's life at a time when she needed a support, someone who could lend her a shoulder to cry on. He was the one person who understood what she was going through and helped her find herself again. With Elena, Stefan found a hope in life, a reason for his existence. He had been a wandering, incomplete soul for more than a century who finally found his pilgrimage, his other half, the other part of his soul.
What is probably the most touching about these two is how they never gave up on each other. When Stefan was going through his Ripper phase, it required guts to bring him out of the darkness which threatened to consume him, the Stefan we all love so much. He became a different person for all of us. At such a juncture, Elena was the only one who held on to the hope that HER Stefan was still in there somewhere, alive, needing to be saved. If Stefan waited a century for his soulmate, Elena too waited 18 years of her human life in search of that one person who could bring alive the girl dying bit by bit with every tragedy that struck her life. How could she give up on him when he was all she got? Elena, the human who loved Stefan beyond human capabilities, embracing every single side of him, the shades of his personality which even he himself hated.
And Elena wasn't wrong, was she? The Stefan who loved her with every fiber of his existence was alive. No matter how unleashed the Ripper was, Elena's Stefan won over, breaking the compulsion which wanted him to rip her apart. It was at that moment that I realised why there can never be another Stefan-Elena.
Currently, we see Elena trying to adjust to her vampire life. She is having a tough time, obviously this wasn't suppose to be her fate. Stefan is trying everything in his capabilities and even beyond that to return her back her human life, the life she was meant to lead. He was respecting her wishes when he saved Matt instead of her but I don't think he'll be able to live in peace till she turns back into the girl she once was. There is HOPE for her and Stefan will turn that hope into reality even if it is the last thing he does.
Love like theirs is once in a lifetime. It's something Klaus fascinates and Rebekah envies. What they share is something we all desire in our lives, something real and poignant and sensitive, something worth fighting for. Break up can end their relationship, but it cannot change the fact that they're meant to be together till forever dies.
