TC:FB tussle between Geet fans and producer Gul Kh

If you ever had a doubt that Star's One Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi continues to live in the minds of its loyal fans nearly a year after it has gone off air…then well… think again. For when The Facebook page of this highly popular Drashti Dhami- Gurmeet Choudhary project went down three days back (12th night between 11 and 11.30 pm), it triggered a storm of protests from Geet fans who started bombarding the Facebook and Twitter pages of producer Gul Khan and her better half Gorky (who apparently maintains the page) during the night of 12/13th November.

They suspected that 4 Lions Films (production house) had brought this page down in attempt to make them forget Geet and concentrate on their new shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Star Plus) and Qubool Hai (Zee TV).

This anger was assuaged only when the Geet page was restored the next morning (Diwali morning). When we spoke to Gul she said, "It was only down due to technical reasons."

Just how much the fans love the show can also be explained that over night they even wrote to Facebook informing that it's an active page with 364,356 fans and more than 6000 people are talking about it. The social networking giant was told that this action had made the fans emotional.

We contacted Gurmeet about the same and he messaged back saying, "It is very heart-warming when fans remember you for your previous shows and characters. So many time ladies come up to me and address me as Ram and many recall me Maan as well. This is a beautiful experience for any actor."

In closing, we tried to ask Gul about her latest You Tube interview with Barun Sobti (Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon) where she had attempted to dispel the notions that things were not well between them after the former has decided quit her hit Star Plus show. She just texted back saying, "Iss interview se zyada aur mein kya karoon (what more can I do?). They consider even the video as a PR gimmick."

Well Gul…popularity has a different side as well.
