I liked today's episode.. Not just because of the return of the men but because for the first time someone as been straight with Rashi telling her why and where she goes wrong. Koki also showed her what her actual aspirations are. Koki showed Rashi the mirror but Rashi not only disorted what was shown to again suit her own "I am the victim" needs. Apart from that she blames Gopi again for misleading people with her innocent face not understanding that Gopi is what she is, a unique person who cannot be emulated.
I do not think Koki's idea to make GoShi realize each other's worth worked. I would say it failed completely where Rashi is concerned and worked too much on Gopi. We are again back to square one but what I liked was Koki's explanation. Hear me out before you throw those chappals at me😆
In a family nobody owes another family member anything. The fact is that one does something for the other out of love and respect. Not because one expects something in return. We have other places to do this kind of barter. When it comes to family we have to understand that sharing and caring are part and parcel of the life. You will not be praised for doing the dishes or cleaning the house everyday.
Today Koki surprised everyone including Gopi by telling the other women that it was only Gopi who did the rangoli. Was I surprised? Not completely. The reason was explained by Koki herself.
She relieved both Gopi and Rashi from their punishments. Gopi was repentant and apologized while Rashi was still fuming that she was not praised for making the rangoli, something that she herself decided she would do for Gopi or rather did to show everyone that Gopi also needed her.
If Rashi's intentions had been just that, then the fact that Gopi was praised would have been sufficient. She would have actually felt happy that the rangoli was praised and Gopi along with it. After all all she wanted was to show that Gopi needed her and she had proved it.. But no. Rashi is not happy. She is unhappy because she was not given the credit. That is where the real intention of hers lies. She wants to upstage Gopi. She wants what Gopi has not thinking twice as to whether she, Rashi really wants it or needs it. It is more like a bratty child who wants anything its sibling has, without rhyme or reason.
What Koki tried to explain and what went over Rashi's head was not that Rashi is not competent but the fact that wanting what Gopi has or aspiring to be in level with Gopi needs you one to be Gopi.
Kokila is not asking Rashi to become Gopi. No.. That is not what she is driving at. All she is trying to tell Rashi is that her basis for getting all heated up that Gopi tells her to do something is baseless for in a family one needs to learn to share the praises with the errors. Koki mentioned two things.
1. Gopi's wordless help with the diya and compared it with Rashi's need to make the world know that she did the rangoli.
2. Need to respect Gopi as the elder Modi bahu and stop treating her like a younger cousin/servant.
The first one was very telling. One may argue that all Rashi wants is to be praised but the question is praised for what and why? What does Rashi exactly want. She compares herself to Gopi and is sure that she is the superior of the both. Afterall Gopi is the gawar.
She feels that Gopi is able to get the praises in the family because of her innocent 'act'.. Rashi's opinion of Gopi is just that. A gawar cousin who is cunning enough to put on an act of innocence taking the spot light away from her, Rashi. She knows that this is not true but denies to believe this because it does not suit her.
If she only breaks this illusion and see what Koki showed her. Koki showed her how true Gopi's help to Rashi was, how selfless and how without expectations. That is what happens in a family. One helps the other out without expecting to be thanked or praised. When the heart does it without expectations, the praises are given on their own bringing joy. It is only when one does something expecting to be praised, does one get disappointed.
Rashi expected to be acknowledged not for her helping Gopi but for upstaging Gopi. She conveniently forgot that Gopi was willingly giving her the credit and it was Koki who stopped her. To Rashi she was again upstaged and she blamed Gopi for it.
The second mention about Gopi being Rashi's Jethani was said to make Rashi give a little respect to Gopi. Until the time Rashi takes Gopi for granted because she is younger and was once her servant cousin, Rashi will never realize what role Gopi plays in her life. It is time that Rashi accepts the fact Gopi is her equal in the Modi house. Just like she expects Gopi to listen to her, there are times that she has to do the same. That is all the second point was meant to be.
But to Rashi both these were another reason to hate Gopi. After all she likes to play the victim😊
What can be more easy to depict that Rashi equates things monetarily other than the fact that the minute she got a free gold chain she considered Gopi her lucky charm.
If this same consideration remains tomorrow when the police turn up accusing Gopi and Rashi of robbery, one can expect that Rashi actually cares for Gopi. We know this will not be true😊
It is easy for us to blame another for our mistakes like Rashi does. But one needs to remember that praise comes with responsibility properly done.
