Today .. have been reading numerous accounts on the fact the Barun Sobti will be quitting the show .. while i dont wish to comment on this till we get official communique from either the channel, PH or the actor himself .. i just thot of sharing some thots
When a track of a serial is decided ..the story writer thinks up the idea .. which is shared with the PH ... who either likes it or throws it out .. & asks the story writer to work on some other idea .. the ideas are normally fleshed out in discussions .. then the story idea is penned .. this penned story idea goes to the channel ..who then either accepts the idea .. or rejects ... or asks for iterations .. once the story of the track is finalised .. the screenplay of the track is written ( screenplay is the scenes u see in every episode ) .. the screenplay also goes thru some approvals .. specially if the budgets required to do the scene need approvals .. after all this the dialogue of the story line is put to paper .. which finally reaches the set of shooting .. where the director & actors get to see the finished product ..
In some cases .. ( extremely rare ) .. the actors .. probably if they r mega stars .. get to know of the story line & track before finalising or during the finalising stage .. but very rarely are the actors ever involved till the story idea is not fleshed & accepted between PH & Channel ... So in this case if the PH comes up with a track .. which is not acceptable to channel .. it will not even go to the actor ..Channel has the final veto power .. as the IPR ( intellectual property rights) of the serial is with the Channel .. in other words the channel owns the content .. while the PH is an executor ..
Hope this answers a few questions on what goes on behind the scene .. & busts some myths ..

The ties that bind ...

That fateful day .. when she lay in his arms .. lost .. he got her close to his heart .. their hearts met .. spoke .. joined .. & then they were ONE ..
This divine was their union ..
That day he gave her his heart .. & thats the day .. he changed .. to him .. his existence was the girl .. KHUSHI .. how could he contemplate life without her .. well she had his heart .. & without a heart .. who lives ..
From the day their hearts beat as one .. he bound her to him .. he fought with her to give her .. her right as his WIFE .. his better half .. he succumbed to her need for rituals .. & bound her to him in a way acceptable to her & society .. he held on .. when she wanted to leave him .. he held on .. when she wanted to break them ..
To him .. life is KHUSHI ..
To him the saath phere with its saath vachan dint mean anything .. he had given her his heart .. but .. for her the saath vachan meant everything ..
Wasnt it ironical ... that the believer .. did not beleive ... & the non beleiver .. became the one .. HOLDING ON TO THE VACHAN ..

Promising her .. Forever ..
Reassuring her .. Forever ..
Suddenly in their perfect world a shadow loomed .. a shadow which cast a blanket of uncertainty into their lives .. a shadow which had the power to eclipse their happiness .. a shadow of an UNKNOWN PAST ..
The shadow .. has a dark side .. a side which was a murky presence . & the shadow has an innocent side .. a side which drew them in .. which weakened their resolve .. & the shadow had the advantage of the unknown ..
But whether dark & murky .. or innocent & unknown .. the shadow had the power to destroy their fairytale life ..
But shadows only exist .. where there is darkness .. no light .. with brightness & light ... the shadow will definitely disappear .. but .. for brightness & light .. they needed to be together .. they needed to be bound together .. they needed to .. SEEK THE LIGHT TOGETHER
Agar tum koshish bhi karo Khushi .. tab hi hum alag nahi ho sakte Arnav aur Khushi hamesha saath rahenge ...
So what Devi Maiyyah had joined together .. no "s" cud ever make asunder ...
The story of Arnav & Khushi .. a divine love story .. will always continue .. despite the pitfalls .. despite murky pasts .. despite devastated sisters .. despite horrible jeejajis .. despite autocratic dadi's .. despite small innocent kids .. despite ex flames .. & inspite of them ..
Tonite .. as we watched Arnav hugging Khushi .. & promising her forever .. this is the message he was giving us .. they are 1 .. & they are hamesha ..
Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon is the story .. a love story of Arnav & Khushi .. & will always remain that ..

The 2 faces of 'Shee' :
Arnav & khushi walk into 'shee's room to find out the truth .. all Arnav says is .. Khushi told me about Aarav .. & 'shee' breaks down .. she keeps harping on the fact that she does not want Arnav to take away Aarav .. she keeps saying she cant live without Aarav ..
Whoa whoa whoa ... please note .. there is no question as yet asked .. & the lady of the hour opens her cans of woes .. she is shattered .. she is PLEADING .. crying out her sorrow ..
'shee's brings out the whole arsenal .. laying it at Khushi & Arnav's feet .. she says .. I DONT WANT UR MONEY .. I DONT WANT UR HELP .. ( whoa babe .. who was offering it here ) .. & finally she lets the BIG ONE OUT ..
I DONT WANT TO COME BETWEEN UR MARRIAGE .. BINGO .. the cat was out .. she says she wud go away .. rather than cause any problems between the couple .. she was seemingly addressing Arnav here .. but each of her words .. were for KHUSHI .. the woman with the tender heart ..
Now .. as i watched this .. the thot that struck me was .. either 'shee' was well versed with martyr maata khushi & the way her mind works .. or she was extremely lucky .. she hit .. 3 aces .. in a blind flash ..
Arnav thru all this is confused .. between the 2 women there .. he was tried & tested .. he was condemned .. he was not able to get in a word edge wise .. he wanted to know .. how when he was not intimate with 'Shee' cud their 'platonic milan' bear such a handsome fruit ..
At this point of time .. 'shee' was the pleader .. the woman who was pleading for her rightful space in her sons life .. a space which till then no one had questioned her on ..
The above was one of her most telling expressions .. this was a grab of when Khushi & Arnav leave her room after their first round match with 'shee' ..
Oh well mission was accomplished .. the diatribe bore fruit .. the maata's martyr genes were full on activated ..
& maata chali maike .. so BINGO .. i will leave = u shud leave khushi ..
But there was a unknown factor in play .. or lets say a miscalculation at play .. Arnav's love for Khushi can never be pitted against his love for anyone ..
This love survived the test of Di's devastation
This love survived the test of Mom's cause of death ..
This love would surely survive .. a DNA report ..
The third .. an outraged .. but supremely confident woman .. who faces KHUSHI .. & Arnav again the next morning .. oh well .. Khushi did not leave so she had to ..
Now .. u guys have to pause here .. & see the 2 face offs .. if in the first one .. 'shee' was pleading .. in the second one .. she was supremely confident .. she looked on . with full assurance ..this time for now .. her alibi was iron tight .. an excuse .. which as off now cud not be questioned .. Arnav was drunk .. on the last day of college .. he dumped her the next day ..
Iron tight .. oh well .. yep as off now .. who remembers what they did on the night they partied full drunk .. apparently arnav was blown .. which made him blow "shee" .. & which resulted in a by blow .. aarav .. .. Arnav is mighty confused .. it so doesnt add up in his mind .. he doesnt remember being so out of it .. that he cudnt remember having sex with his exflame .. but as off now he did not have any reason to doubt 'shee' an exflame .. with whom he had an amicable split ...
So .. tonite .. one saw a few masks of 'shee' being unveiled .. from pleading cajoling woman ... to a woman with something to hide .. calculating her next move .. to the supremely confident woman .. who HIT where it wud HURT the MOST ..
'shee' decides to leave them .. there is confusion .. khushi who keeps running after her to stop her .. but .. 'shee' keeps goading her .. saying there was no reason for her to stay .. it was best for all if she left .. & finally she brings out her trump card .. SHE CALLS AARAV into the picture .. the kid who did not want to be separated from Arnav .. looks on at arnav .. with his BIG SOULFUL eyes .. almost pleading him to stop him .. khushi in her relentless effort to STOP & DO GOOD .. well does what Khushi does best .. brings in a catastrophe .. 'shee' trips & falls .. & thereby spraining her ankle ..
confusion reigns supreme once again .. the whole family gathers around her.. asking her to stay .. BUT this time .. 'shee' was not willing to listen ..
Amidst all this confusion .. stood the man .. observing it all .. & finally ... he stepped forward .. & pronounced .. " STAY " .. oops or did he say .. ( let the games begin 😉 )

Guys i had an entirely different second half of my post written .. i actually did a whole epi analysis .. & unknowingly posted it .. when the site was crashed .. so i lost my post .. cud not recreate the stuff i wrote .. so neways .. here is something that struck me in the episode .. thot of sharing it with u guys ..
Tonite all IPK fans were up in arms .. about barun sobti quitting .. but then finally news came in .. ke sobti chale chutti .. hmm .. ( no comments on this) .. but what we got .. was one very intense & lovely episode of IPK ..
IPK has always been about subtle story telling .. i know a lot of u hate the fact that it is so subtle .. but do we want a serial . where the heroine wears .. i kg of gold to bed .. & sleeps with a crisp banarsi saree .. or do we want an IPK which is real .. which touches us .. a creative cannot always be right .. but if its .. right more times than wrong .. then we shud give them credit for what an amazing thing they have created ..
Tonite was all about the subtle messaging .. look at the way the face of 'shee' was unveiled .. incredible .. 2 whole new personas in 2 scenes ..
then .. an amazingly fabulous scene with the leads .. i dunno about u guys .. but i was extremely emotional seeing that scene .. i loved the way .. arnav .. asks for help .. the man who kept everything bottled inside him .. today was reaching out to the woman .. who he truly believed to be his better half ..
Tonite .. i read somewhere .. that fans were up in arms outside the sets of IPK .. what more can one say about the love for this serial .. GUL .. take a bow .. u created magic .. guys . why fall into pits of despair .. or fits of rage .. why not just sit back & enjoy the ride ..
