.i don't get why all the ones except Asad say SAALAAM A LAIKUM ...It is ASSALAAM U ALAIKUM its meaning gets changed if u say it the other way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
SALAAM ALAIKUM /Saam Alaikum MEANS """you may die or peace of death be upon""its an after life greeting
Assaalaam u Alaikum means """May u live in peace""
i guess they should give much importance to these specific words
i guess if there is a confusion regarding the meansing of SALAM ALAIKUM THEN WE SHD place it aside as its an After life greeting not for livings
secondly ""AA sound of AALIF can't be supressed without any reason so the right word is ASSALAAM U ALAIKUM NOT SALAAM U ALAIKUM""
As for verses in which the indefinite 'Salam[un]' is used in this life, such as in the conversation of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) with his guests who were angels, there are rhetorical reasons why that form is most appropriate in those particular verses, which therefore do not serve as a basis of the ideal way of our greeting one another.[Kuwaiti Fiqh Encyclopedia]
