Salaam Alaikum is an after death greeting for life after death

The well-known sunna is to say 'Assalamu alalikum', with the definite particle 'al-' at the beginning (which transforms to as-).

It would suffice to use the indefinite form 'Salam alaikum', but using the definite particle 'al-' is superior. Some scholars mention that this is because 'Assalamu alaikum' (with the definite particle) is the appropriate greeting for this life, while the indefinite 'Salam[un] alaikum' (as found in many Qur'anic verses) will be the greetings in Paradise, such as in the verse, "Perpetual peace be upon you (Salam[un] alaikum) for your having been patient — so what a great final abode!" (13:24) [Kuwaiti Fiqh Encyclopedia]

As for verses in which the indefinite 'Salam[un]' is used in this life, such as in the conversation of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) with his guests who were angels, there are rhetorical reasons why that form is most appropriate in those particular verses, which therefore do not serve as a basis of the ideal way of our greeting one another.

And Allah knows best.

wassalam

THE MAIN IS THE RIGHT WORD AND IT IS ASSALAM U ALAIKUM ...WE WRITE IT WITH AN ""Aalif in start ""then without aalif sound how can it be right

Its not like
Assalamualikum = May THE peace be on you.
Salamualikum = May peace be on you.

In Arabic - The prefix "AL" means "The".
Eg: Kitab = Book; Al Kitab = The Book.

There is a rule for certain letters of arabic that when they are prefixed with "AL" the pronunciation changes and the "Lam" (In AL) changes to the First alphabet of the letter it is being suffixed to.
Eg: "The Flower" will be called "Az Zahra". Not "Al Zahara".
The Sun will be called As Shams But not Al Shams.

So, Assalamualikum and Salamualikum are actually the same. just the addition of "The".

I am not aware of the intricacies of Urdu, neither did I know and notice this difference and error. But yes, if one little mistake can change the whole meaning of the phrase to this extent, then they should be careful.

Agree, so many people make these common mispronunciation.
Another one Assa-e-kum (pleasure be ceased upon you), or even the more common slam-e-kum which curse upon you or something like that.

its a greeting for after life...which means the death peace as death is the transfusionn of one into a life which never ends ...different fiqa's can have different opinions so instead to fight for its meaning we shd be considerate abt the fact that Assaalam u Alaikum is the right and most authentic word for it ...
