Hey guys,

So, I have some questions to my fellow forum-friends who are Muslim. Is it mandatory for a woman to wear a hijab or a burqa, or any kind of headscarf for that matter?

And if it is, I was just wondering, if Asad is so 'traditional' and 'conservative', why doesn't he tell Najma to wear it? His Ami doesn't wear one either...

Thanks in advance 😊

There are different schools of thought but the govt of Saudi Arabia has made it mandatory for all adult females to cover their head. Asad does not follow Islam to the core, but he values his culture and modesty in general immensely! Hence, Najma and Dilshad dont cover their hair but must follow the norms of dressing that are prevalent in Bhopal!

Hope that helped!

I couldn't have said it better.

Emphasis on the part of Saudi Arabia enforcing it as a law. No country follows that. It's your decision at the end.

Hi there..
To answer your first question...yes women have to wear a head scarf in order to cover their hair...it is considered to be 'gunnah'(sinful) for a man to see a woman's hair...burqa however is not necessary...any type of clothes that cover the whole
Body and that does not show or outline any part of the body- that is the clothes have to be lose-can be worn.
As for your second question...not every Muslim follow each and everything thaught by Islam...Asad is more
Of a cultural guy than religion..coZz he mostly stresses on Tehzeeb and stuff
Not in any of his dialogues has he ever mentioned religion
Hope that helped :)
