Love, Jealousy aur Communication
Chapter 1
A rush of mixed emotions coursed through her. Anger, sadness, fear, and pain together wiped out every coherent thought off her mind. She fell back on the bench, observing the trio, sweat beads cooling on her face, the warmth and light of the sun irritating her skin and eyes.
The amount times her mood changed in a day, left her exhausted.
Her heart constricted as the images of her husband and Sheetal playing so close came into her mind. This was all wrong to her. She was not exposed to this, ever.
How could once upon a time couple, now exes, be so comfortable with each other? Khushi did not and could not understand how these people worked.
Sitting by herself alone, Khushi pretended to be packing her bag, she didn't want anyone knowing what she was going through or thinking.
Khushi glanced back again at Arnav and Aarav. A man who hated kids was now so comfortable with one. A pang of jealousy ignited in her, that kind of bonding should have occurred with her and Arnav's kid, definitely not with some ex's child instead.
Seeing Aarav's bright face, Khushi smacked her head.
"Jealous of a baby Khushi?!" she hissed at herself.
~~~
Days passed with difficulty. Khushi at one side kept nagging her inner suspcious voice to shut up, while at the other side, the diva sulked in the corner.
Today, was supposed to be a big day for Khushi. It was kurvachauth. Yeah Arnav didnt believe in anything that had to do with God, but Khushi did.
For most of the day Khushi managed to think just about food...with breaks...of sheetal. That woman was becoming lethal for her now, thought Khushi.
Dressing up for the actual event, Khushi tried to justify herself. She shouldnt feel so guilty about snooping around Sheetal...lethal.
The woman does not want to talk about her husband, or Aarav's dad, then why would she be keeping a vrath for him, whoever it is.
Her heart stopped its beat and sunk. Again, Arnav comes into the picture.
Did they...?
What is a woman to do at this time? At one side there are physical characteristics..signs...and then at the other its her husband's words.
She is confused. She believes him at times and then there are moments she wants to believe him.
Clipping her tikka in place, she glances at herself once more in the mirror and twirls. Depressing thoughts vanish and she grins at herself. As of now she has her husband, nothing to worry about out...yet. After clearing away the empty jewellery boxes, she makes her way down to the family.
~~~
Excitement shoots through her veins, as she shyly looks at her husband through the net.
Is it wrong to wish for an always happy life?
Arnav picks up the glass of water and holds it against her lips, tilting a bit, so the water flows into her mouth.
The sight in front of him, was radiating with love and happiness. Even the tiniest bit of annoyance he had for her disappeared. He loved the woman...his woman
Even before she moved to bend, Arnav held her arms tightly.
"No Khushi, dont even think about it. Your place is always next to me, by me and with me" he whispers.
Tears prick her eyes. Ignoring them, she smiles brightly and hugs him.
They stand there for long, in each others embrace, in a small bubble. Their world soon popped by Khushi's stomach grumbling for food.
"Lets get some food in their" he squeezes her bare stomach, making goosebumps form up her arms.
"Some? It needs a whole pan of food" she laughs.
"Sure. We can burn it off tonight" he huskily whispers.
Her eyes widens for a second and she flushes red.
Grinning, he takes her hand and pulls her to the table, which lay with ten different kinds of items.
~~~
An hour went by and Khushi was not aware of her surroundings. After stuffing herself till content, she sat with family and properly celebrated the night.
As everyone talked and laughed, Khushi looked around for Sheetal. She was nowhere to be seen.
Khushi got up from the sofa and went in search for the lady with secrets.
She thought of peeking at the poolside, maybe she was still outside. Taking a shorter route through her room, Khushi pushed apart the curtains and stopped dead in her action.
There she was, standing all alone and looking at the moon. And then within seconds, she turned around quickly, held her dupatta up towards the huge window...to who?
Khushi bent forward and peeked out and before she could see the person, she heard him.
"Arnav!" Sheetal's voice cracked through the silent drumming of her heart.
She got to her knees and retrieved a thaal from under the buffet table.
Picking up the glass, she drank the water, breaking the secretly kept vrath.
Khushi hid herself from Sheetal's sight and turned to her world crashing down onto her.
So I decided to write out my frustration, wish and freaking finish off the track! :-p
If you anyone has any thing to add to Khushi's or Arnav's thoughts, let me know. I basically want them, as my characters, to deal with the situation properly... lets hope I do a good job.
