'Umrao Jaan' pulls out of Diwali battle
It appeared at one point of time that 3 big films ('Don,' 'Jaan-e-Mann' and 'Umrao Jaan') were all releasing on the same day, October 20th; bad news for all three films. It seemed that one would most likely have to be released later.
And now its official… 'Umrao Jaan' has shifted to November 3rd while only 'Don' and 'Jaan-e-mann' will release on October 20th. Hopefully this two-week postponement will help 'Umrao Jaan' create more of a buzz because as of now, the film doesn't seem to be garnering much interest.
An interesting point to note is that considering the compliments that Aishwarya Rai is getting for her new svelte look in the 'Dhoom 2' trailer, we really wonder whether the audiences will be keen on seeing a fully clad Aishwarya in the period film 'Umrao Jaan,' although going by Ash's ability to dance and the fact that when well-directed, she has delivered power-packed performances, she's likely to have given a great performance.
