Wow...Beautiful update...
Lord Arnav badly misses khushi and feels the emptiness within. His melancholic mind dreams of his deepest secrets, hearty desires and worst fears... No wonder he panicked.
What surprised me was khushi's dream...in her subconscious mind she is aware that he is attracted towards her... fears that he may even go to the extent of marking her as his?
Im amazed how well she connects herself with Lord Arnav's mind and thoughts... they share a special bond indeed...Originally posted by: Farwa_Ibrahim
Hello there captin i might not b good in describing things in ur style but i m gonna try. what an FF. i got to know the story from neighbouring inn and i kept trying hard to know it till ur last meeting so that i can also join ur circle of comrades and i m glad to inform u now i want to enroll myself if u can find a free space for me too... i m leaving my name with the innkeeper. now i want to tell u u r an awesome storyteller... i m in love with ur story... i dont know whether it was the actual beauty of the story or ur skills which made me stuck to it that i spent most of the free time i got in the holidays of holy festival of Eid to catch ur story. how strange sometimes it is that the one person who is the cure for ones curse causes others curse to surface. Lord Arnav has a strong will that even in his transformed state he never let himself to harm any person of the family. Khushi now somehow and to some extant knows about Lord Arnav. I have thought so much to tell u what i feel while reading but right now m loss of words. i m leaving the parchment with innkeeper please do acknowledge my request and send me a pigeon too when the next meeting is up.

Frankly, the previous "visions" update was a quick intrusion into the story because my planning to make a certain chapter in mind the 100th chapter required some extra chapters included. And hence, Chapter Ninety Two was an extra adding into the first chart of chapters. However, what I included in it was crucial and especially to shed more light into the "red drops on white satin" image that confused many of my dear decoders. There are many who highlighted on wondrous points, a few striking ones which I ask the permission to share with those interested here:
Heta's theory as I already said needed to be applauded for its perfect target, but more outstanding was the intentions in the visions as seen by avid reader arushi_fan and an added information by dear dingle.
Originally posted by: arushi_fan after all isn't the FF all about the Beast and the Bleeding Red Roses?
Islamically blood on clothes represents the dreamer is being lied to so that fits here too.
Now to the rest of my dear ones: Siaa and Breeze, the very first deep readers of my FF, could not stop themselves from peeping in/ breezing by and even "res"ing a tiny place in the Book of the Comrades Chronicles.
Kushipugly's excitement knows no bounds. Her presence is there in every page of this thread and I must say Sam (sparklystarstud) and Kushipugly are most enthusiastic and hyper-active twosome in our Cave. Careful! One's dancing on the table incessantly and the other is running about the place with her new-found picture capability!
Mxk: Pardon me for not putting the numbers after your name for I just cannot play telephone on my keyboard which is why I asked Sona to give me a nickname to call her by so that I won't have to type her numeral name everytime I wanted to address. I mean, can you imagine me addressing her dear 92424976 every single time and leave an unromantic taste in my mouth! Now, to you, dear Mxk, no I have not watched the movie dear and no, I will not be creating scenes from movies or books here. Every scene here is an adaptation of the IPKKND scenes or from my own little head! To mirror scenes from books and movies would be plagiarism, right? So I'm currently keeping away from books and movies and will return to them only after I've finished my FF.
Bea_rom: It is such a delight to know you are willing to accept the presence of a villain in a story just as one should accept the hero. And don't you worry dear, the MUs here will not be like the unnerving ones we had in the show.
Medha: Laugh away, my Arhasian Poetess. Your laughter rang through the Cave last night instead of your song. But as always, looking forward to your versified versions of my narrations!
Starfire: Ah, in spite of my inability to PM, you still came! You cannot believe how happy I am to see you, dear starfire. And what an interesting question you asked there, a crucial one too...
Saga_twilight: My reader-turned-Comrade! Complicated Lover of my Tale! I just love that phrase you put for yourself! There are a lot of meanings in that one word 'complicated'. And no, dear, I do not want you to interpret the tale. What its primary is that you love it with all your heart!
Heta: You are a brilliant one dear to know that I was not in my heart when I wrote this chapter. Yes, the title was deceiving for it promised much but the chapter seemed to be too obvious. However, there were those subtle descriptions and words that need to be given focus and you simply seemed to have found them out marvellously! It is such a delight seeing you here, discussing and walking all over the pages, leaving your smile upon the other comments you like!
Sammykins: Will you look at that! Dumping dear Voldykins for a...Student Varun?!! The heart of you! Poor Voldy must be weeping in the corner! Come here, Voldy, come to Linny! Let me give you a hug. Ha! Like he'll permit me to! So my pixie-minded dancer is once again on the table and ah, I see you! You better sit still all you'll topple the empty barrels on the table onto the floor. And now, regarding what you have quilled down in the Book of our Chronicles *puts moon glasses on and peers over them* Goodness! Sammykins in her insane self again! Capturing not just mine but many other hearts with her love for my tale and its details. And no, there is no PEPSI or COLA in this medieval inn of Arhasia. But we do have a time machine at the rear of the Cave! *wink*
Sona: Ah, thou art feeling scared for our two dears...Don't you worry, dear one, all is in safe hands! *secret smile*
Casker: Ah, you too, dear? Shyam is coming yes, but he must. And interpretations need not always come dear; just enjoy the story, that is all.
Shalve, anjs, hatelove, sariarshi : Always there to visit the Inn, so glad you found me in time to hear the tale!
Indiavizion: There you are! I was wondering where you were. The one who'd strapped a seat belt all ready to go on this medieval roller coaster ride with me! I so was impressed by your insight into Arnav's and especially the General's thoughts! Incredible thoughts dear!! I must study your descriptions!
Khusiarnav: Ah! Your 700th post!! For Arhasia? For Aquiline? For ArHi? This is a happy moment indeed! But why are you not back with your thoughtful and happy words, dear stalker?
Dingle dear: Your theory needs to a definite notice! I can trust you to pick on the most sweetest of the stills in a chapter: Babuji feeding his girls! *sigh*
Vrinda: My very special comment-gifter! And oh my, your reaction to General Jha's imminent approach is my most favourite. I almost kissed the screen with joy! Like all fired up and geared to face the battle: Bring Him ON!! Love you for this, Vrinda dear!
Bablio: Dear Happy Comrade! More than interpretations, I want you to love the tale. Once you love it, you will slowly find your inner eye opening to see more deeply into what you loved meant! And this is real mature of you to nod to the General's coming: to see more into what he is. Excellent, dear! Excellently mature!
Hoopoe: Once again your connections are brilliant! And about your interpretation on Kushi's side of her visions, it's interesting what you have written but may I point out that here, though she is conscious of his "attraction" more as an unflinching "daring" to deliberately touch her and see her when and how ever he wants, she doesn't see his action of smearing blood on her face as his intention to mark her as "his" but as his way of warning her that he can hurt her. I never usually reply to your deep discussions with Shas and the others but I had to point this out because I know you are a deep thinker and you would be able connect why Kushi cannot think of him as wanting to mark her as "his" because if she did, why would she volunteer Lady Lavanya to go confess her feelings to Lord Arnav and get married to him? Mixed feelings play here because seeing him ride through the forest as she rode in the carriage is a sign that she knows as strange "attraction" exists. But not the "you're mine" part yet. Correct me, dear, if I am wrong, for even the writer can be wrong while her reader can pick on the right tunes.
Shas: You always come out with your heart in my characterizations and I can see how much you embrace my chapters before you begin reading and studying them! And as to what you have written, there is often nothing left to add but I must tell you that I admired the way you picked on the "distance" between them in the actual curtain falling scene. As to the rest of the comments you've written, I can only nod but there are a few places I do frown at for I am myself not certain if that perspective can be plausible. May I request you, dear darling Shas, to read what I have written for Hoopoe and kushipugly regarding Kushi's subconscious and Anjali's intrusion. For does Lord Arnav really "know" that she is the "one"? He is a man who doesn't believe in marriages, doesn't believe in the "one girl of your life". He is disturbed by thoughts of her and her face haunts his memories but he clearly does not understand that she is the "one"...because he does not think there can be a "one". However, he is slowly discovering...and let's wait and watch him as he discovers!
Kushipugly: Your pictures are always so well-chosen dear! And I am so glad you are adding colour to my thread! I love your thoughts of what the dream might have meant and oh dear! "Di Disruption Rage" again? In this FF, dear, every interruption has a "reason". For instance, and I repeat this is just for instance, we can see her entry into the terrible scene unveiling before Arnav's eyes as her impeccable intrusion to save the situation from being an ultimate wreck! And Kushipugly thanks for inviting the new visitors always! But Leafs is not new. She has been with me from the posting of the very Prologue of this tale and her support in my FF is the reason why I call her my Forum Mentor.
AngelDream: Your words of wisdom are echoes to the future...
Sophie dear: Warmed in your sunshine, I am drowning myself in the depth of your words. Yes, if two minds see the same vision, it is a prophetic sign. And as to what the blood stands for...we'll wait for the tale to reveal it to us.
Crinklez dear, Flowers4u: My plannings need not be what actually happens in Arhaisa. What I think will happen is not always what the Dark Lady makes me narrate to you. So yes, let's wait together for the story to proceed and clear this fog of confusion in our minds! *wink* And by the way Crinklez, your theory is real thoughtful.
Vidya: A really impressive interpretation of the vision's theme. Love's Path is a Hard One but the Journey is treasure-worthy! You are real sweet, dear!
STB: Ah, now you are the one with the questions, eh? And yes, the answers are very important ones to. Enjoy the tale and the answers will come to you, dear!
Hellgirl: Now, that's an interesting pointer: they are not asleep, and hence it is a vision and not a dream. And don't you worry about interpretations dear, just enjoy the tale and somewhere the sun will shine and let you know what I meant!
Leafs: My dear Forum Mentor!! Yes, isn't it surprising how "discussions" have commenced in our Inn on the numerable potentials lying hidden within the nuances of the tale?! And now you put a feather on my cap, may I ask why? But since it is you who place it, I shall wear it with a happy heart and await your visit to the Cave soon!
Peepli: Very nice to point that out, dear. Yes, Lady Anjali knows her brother with whom she has lived since the day he was born but she is still to learn much more about the true colours of her husband. It is true and you will see more on this same line in a chapter to come a lot later...
Farha: Depths in dream-interpretations remain in the deep bed of the sea and only those who are skilled and willing to brave the distance can reach the deep sea bed. But there are some who enjoy and find their smile, in floating on the surface!
Jammy dear: Goodness! Those quotes made my eyes water! What amazing magic of words those brilliant thinkers have voiced! And my! The last quote! *clutches heart* I am so glad you can join with us at the Inn from henceforth dear! I am only happy to have you with us and yes, our InnKeeper is a darling indeed! Oh, he frowns at me for I "darlinged" him! He prefers more manly exclamations and thinks 'darling's a girl's adjective!
Farwa: Ah, now who is this new visitor with her eager eyes and clasped hands, standing in the Inn, waiting to come and be part of us! Welcome, dear! Welcome! And oh, I am sorry dear, but the InnKeeeper must have forgotten to tell you. There is an oath you must take to find your name signed upon the parchment. It is written in Page 32/34 of the First Thread and I would be really delighted to enter your name if you could take that innocent oath of our Circle's. You will be a really treasured member here, and I am already looking forward to your visits dear! Kushipugly's bought a cottage near the Inn to keep an eye on my comings and goings and I am sure she would gladly welcome you to wait there before I arrive. And yes, I would be glad to send you the pigeons but I can send them only on Saturdays and if I come to the Inn to narrate during the weekdays, stalkers find me on time! But I can always fly a pigeon to you on Sunday with all the updates you missed, or you could stay at Kushipugly's cottage, watching out for my unexpected coming!
Chapter Ninety Three: Trespasser
An owl hooted and the gloom of the night hung heavy when, suddenly, something streaked across the dark sky and began its descent to land. As soon as it touched ground with a soft thump, it straightened up and there stood a man in its place. He was naked and sweating profusely. Panting, he stood there, studying the place he had come to land.
His eyes fell upon a water-well nearby and he walked towards it, his limbs tired but his thirst motivating enough to keep him proceeding.
He pulled up a pail full of water and washed it down upon him, letting the cold water daub his heated scalp, and then trickle down his trembling body.
He pulled up water again and, this time, drank his fill, letting the cool water wet his terribly parched throat. Then he dropped the metal pail and shook the water off his hair. Droplets of water streamed down his bare chest and the cold breeze blew against him, making him shiver.
He caught a movement to his left. Inclining his head slightly, he appraised the lonely stray cat standing by the street of the village, watching him. He smirked and casually worded, "Boo."
Screeching, the cat ran away and he chuckled to himself. There was no denying that there were some agreeable things about his wretched condition.
He turned about and walked to the only place he knew in this Village. As he passed by the houses, where the inhabitants were all asleep, he randomly picked up a shirt from here and pantaloons from there that were hung outside to dry and had not been bothered to pick when night had fallen.
Slipping into the pantaloons, he buttoned it and then jumped a fence and walked down the street path. Two more houses he had passed by the time of which he had shrugged into the shirt which was larger than his real size. After buttoning up the pale blue shirt, leaving the top two buttons open, he rolled up the long sleeves and then tucked the end of the shirt into his pantaloons.
Walking bare-foot was so tiring but he knew he was getting used to it again. He turned the corner and stopped. There it was, before him, the house he had come for. He leapt over the fence, and walked across the tiny front lawn. He ran his fingers through his hair to see how wet they were and then found himself having reached before the door. He lifted his fist to knock but paused himself, wondering why he needed to wake the entire house if his intention included just one person.
He stepped down from the porch and walked around the house, looking up at each window. Would she be upstairs or downstairs? He stood in the tiny garden and scrutinized the house.
As his eyes studied the windows at the top, he caught a familiar face at the window.
Kushi had not been able to sleep what with the excitement of wanting to believe that her parents were really here in the house with her though two days had past. She had just turned on her other side, away from facing her sister who was lying next to her, when she heard noises outside the house. Like someone was climbing up the porch steps. She frowned, was she imagining it?
She sat up. At least it's my home and I'm not alone in the dark. She scrambled out of the blanket and slipped out of bed, making sure not to awaken her sleeping sister.
Curiosity led her to the window and she opened it and looked out. Cool night breeze brushed past her face and her hair, that was let open, caressed against her cheeks. Her eyes scanned the ground below, and then she froze. A man stood there looking up at her and she was about to step away when she realised who it was. The moonlight shone upon his hair and glistened on his wet hair.
What is he doing here? Kushi wondered. At this time of the night?
And then she remembered something. He had written her a letter two nights ago saying that the war would still take two weeks more to end. She frowned at the ground again, then what is he doing here many miles away from the East? How did he get here so fast?
He waved up at her and she didn't know what to do. Was she to go down and meet with him? Was it safe? She knew him to be a gentleman and his letters had bound them by words as that of a good friend. But she didn't know... she still felt him to be a stranger to her. And that was when another cold breeze blew and she saw him shiver involuntarily.
Without another thought, she turned around, grabbed the extra blanket on her bed and raced out of her room as soundlessly as her feet could take her. Down the stairs she swept hastily and then rushed out through the front door, the cold breeze upon her face, as her bare feet raced over the wet grass in the garden, her long night gown flapping into the wind and the blanket streaming in her hand as she ran to him.
He stood there, his arms around him fighting the cold and he watched as she made towards. How ethereal she looked, he realised, as the moonlight washed upon her form and dressed in white, she indeed looked like an angel.
"Sir," she greeted and then without another word handed him the blanket.
He did not take it, "Aren't you cold, Miss Kushi?"
"I am not wet like you," said Kushi, eyeing his wet hair and his shirt sticking onto his body, whether from sweating or for bathing she was not certain.
She felt fingers brush against her knuckle and she realised he was reaching out for the blanket and released her hand, letting it dropping into his hand.
She stepped away and waited as he draped the blanket over his shivering form.
"What are you doing here, Sir?" she enquired.
The General looked at her, "I came to see you."
Kushi gaped at him, "Me? To see me?"
The General nodded, "There is something I must tell you."
"What is it?"
He looked away, "The war is too much upon my heart, I don't think I can hold on much longer. I am losing the fight." He closed his eyes.
Kushi looked at him worriedly, "You cannot be losing. Don't you have your soldiers and other Generals backing you? Don't you have weapons?"
The General opened his eyes and looked at her, "It is not a question of weaponry or armed forces. It is of one's troubled existence in this lonely world."
Kushi felt sad, "Are you lonely?"
"Always," said the General, sighing. He clutched the blanket closer to him.
Kushi felt his loneliness, "You have never spoken of your family to me."
"That's because I have no family," said the General miserably, staring at the ground.
"What...happened to your parents?"
"They died when I was a child," said the General, "I learnt to earn my own living from a young age and came to join the army and find myself in this state as you see me."
"You have gone through many hardships," said Kushi sadly.
"More than you'll ever know," he looked at her, and there was pain in his eyes.
"Why are you wet?" she asked.
"I had to swim the river to get to you," he said, "I had been a long way away."
"And yet you made it here? When did you leave from the East?"
"Early at dawn," he said.
"Do you have no horse?"
"I could not take any with me," he said, "I had made this decision to see you, suddenly, and without another thought, set off to find you."
"What is it?"
"There is something I must tell you."
Kushi was silent.
He stepped towards her and looked earnestly into her eyes. She frowned but waited.
"I do not want to be lonely anymore."
The pain in his eyes called out to her and she felt disheartened. But she also felt apprehensive, all of a sudden. She was uneasy and wanted to return back into her house, into her room, into her bed.
"I don't understand," she said, looking away.
"I could do with a companion."
She looked at him, "Are you asking me to be your companion?"
He nodded.
"Am I not already your friend?"
He shrugged, "You are my companion in, yes, the friendly terms. But I was talking about a companion to one's heart."
Kushi felt her cheeks redden and her heart stop beating. This was not good.
He moved towards her and she stepped away, "Please, sir."
He looked hurt, "Is something wrong?"
Kushi closed her eyes and took a deep breath before looking into his eyes and saying, "I cannot see you beyond the friend you are to me now."
He stood there as through she had slapped him hard across the face. Without another word, she turned on her heel and made for her house.
In the darkness of the living room, she stood there, her back pressed upon the door, shutting out the unexpected nightmare. Tears streamed down her face and she didn't know why.
She heard a sound in the darkness and she paled, "Who is it?" Someone moved towards her and the moonlight, from the window near her, fell upon the figure of her father in his night robe, walking towards her, his concerned eyes on her.
"Babuji!" cried Kushi and rushed at him, pressing herself against his chest and letting the tears course free.
Her father embraced her in return and his hand caressed her cold wind-touched hair, "Why does my little child cry?"
"Babuji, I do not know whether what I decide is right or wrong. I never want to be the cause of someone's hurt," said Kushi into her father's chest.
"You can never be the reason for pain, my child," said her father, smiling against her head, "You are named after your smile."
"I may be," said Kushi, wiping her tears and stepping away from the embrace.
She placed her hand on her father's hand and then smiled through the dried tears, "Look Babuji, my hand is bigger now than how it had been a few years ago." She looked up at him, "I still remember how small my hand was in your huge hard hands."
Her father chuckled lightly, "Your hand may have grown but your heart is still my little Kushi's."
"It always will be," she promised him, smiling up at him, blinking away the dried tears. She hugged him again, "I am so glad you could come back to live with us, Babuji. We missed you so much."
"I could not stay away from my daughters a single day either," he said, patting his daughter's back. And then he told her to go to bed.
She nodded, kissed him goodnight on the cheek and left for her bedroom.
Standing in the dark, as soon as Kushi had closed her bedroom door upstairs, her father's gaze swept to the window before him. He frowned. I will have to find out more about that man as soon as possible.
This is the most complicated chapter I've written so far because the real Shyam Manohar Jha is sketched in these lines. Can you dare to try and define the man, not because he is the wild villain of the show, but because he cunningly keeps secrets and wants Kushi for a reason?... I will give you another clue: he only tells two lies in this chapter, and one of those lies is that he swam through the river which he didn't, for we all know he drenched himself from the water in the well. So which is other lie? If you find that lie, you will see that the rest of the words he uttered to her were truths in his life as he knows it and not lies. *clever smirk*

Next update: Tomorrow! EDITED: Though circumstances at home do make me hurry with the updates and post daily, I will NOT leave the FF unfinished. This is my first public endeavor in writing and it is too close to my heart. I only said what I had said earlier to tell you why I may be late or take sudden extended breaks, but I will NOT leave it abandoned!
P. S. I've been getting a few Buddy requests lately and I wonder why. If it is for this FF, I must say that I only send PMs (pigeons) to those who comment for the ones who Comment are the ones who visit because I need them and those who are silent readers or likers are those who sit in the inn, eavesdropping on the story though I don't mind them listening.
From the author's desk : Welcome to thread 6! I started to write this story years ago when the show was live and now when I look back on what...
