Newcomer Gazal Rai, who plays Pooja in the TV serial Left Right Left, had heard many stories of TV actors fainting on the sets of their show. But she never thought that it would happen to her. Two days ago, she went to her make-up room after her shot to rest. However, when her co-star Aparna Tilak and some other cast members tried to wake her up, she seemed to be in a daze. "She was looking at us, but was not responding to what we were saying," says Aparna, who then called her husband Amod, a doctor, on the sets. "After he diagnosed her, he told us to shift her to the hospital. Gazal was then rushed to a nearby hospital. The doctors there told us that her glucose level had dropped down drastically. And had we not taken her to the hospital, her condition would have worsened," says director Anshuman Kishor Singh. As soon as Gazal recovered she was back on the sets.
"The cast members were asking me to go home, but I didn't want to do so, because I knew that the shots had to be canned," says Gazal. Well, this is not the first case and definitely won't be the last one of a TV actor fainting on the sets, considering their rigorous working hours! Just a few weeks ago, Ashlesha Sawant had fainted on the sets of Saat Phere and had to be propped up by unit members so that she could complete her shots. Sometime ago it was Roshni Chopra who collapsed while shooting. However, it seems that the actors and the unitwallahs have now accepted this as a way of life!
