They may not make the ideal couple on Nach Baliye 2, but Hussain and Bakhtiyaar were once a force to reckon with.

Even before they became popular names on Indian television, the two actors studied together in Jai Hind College (Churchgate) and were a rage thanks to their dancing skills.

Says Bakhtyaar, "We used to be very close friends in college. In fact, both of us have taken part in numerous dance competitions. We were dance partners and it was fun working with him. I still remember we used to shave together and hang out a lot."

Competitors now

Now that they are competitors, Bakhtyaar doesn't want to compare himself to Hussain. "He's senior to me and has been around for a long time. I respect him but this is a competition and everything depends on your performance."

We also heard that Bakhtyaar used to be a regular at Malhar, the college festival, and was popular for his take on John Travolta's Grease lightning number. "I had fun doing that song. I did it with two other friends, and we had a ball. I even copied the funky hair style from the film, and wore clothes representing that period."

Hussain says, "Just like me, Bakhtyaar too was heavily into dancing and loved performing on stage. We were very close, and knew each other in and out."
