Inconsistency has been a part of this show since the beginning... Maa Thakur purpose I agree is to show that Adi is not infact living off Vickram's money...
Apparently she was on some grand world tour for the past 2+ years with that palki of hers as she had no idea that Vickram was in a car accident and his wife went missing, presumed dead since then! From the moment Vickram and Sugni was caught in the school room , it was the hot topic in the entire Village...with women coming to Gulabiy'a and Jiji's house to spread the news...all off a sudden no one knows anything about this!
Maa thakur is reprimanding Vickram for his" Aayash" ways with out having heard what the couple was arguing about...but she can't see the thick undercurrents going on right under her nose!
And Vickram's big brother and irretating sister in law, have no idea what thier purpose is, we have enough stupid commideans on the show...at least we know Hukum and Co. are after money!
Again the CV's and their brillian minds keep comming up with new ways to sink this show lower!
