He became an orphan at the age of 15.
Was thrown out in the cruel world. Only one he had was his sister who protected him from the cruel world. She became his mother. She protected him.
As he made a place for himself in this cold ruthless world by only hard work and dedication, the only warm place he knew was near his 'di' who is a mother to him. As he grew, he promised himself he will protect her from everything evil.
He failed. It wasn't his fault. It was fate. A women who went through hardship again and again in her life became dillusional and she will have to go through it one more time.
The only warm place left for her would be with her brother and his wife, who means the world to her.
P.S. - on a lighter note, should a mother-like figure have access to her brother's account? Her brother is a multi-millionaire. If his mother could have access, why not his sister who is like a mother-figure to him? At least I don't see anything wrong with it. I guess it is a matter of perspective.
Edit - I don't think in this particular scenario there is anything wrong if Anjali has access to Arnav's account as she is like a mother-figure to him, but I guess the problem is Anjali taking money out of that account and supporting her scumbag husband. However, we all know there has to be a villain in the story and in this case it is Shyam. Why would he still be with Anjali if not for her (brother's) money? As for Anjali she is delusional and wants Shyam so that her perfect world remains intact and she can remain inside her bubble, a bubble which is going to burst pretty soon.
