(guys, I planned to write in a new line but since the original story is going this way I thought to have some similarities. I am scared of Pia, I want to put her in rest with some one)
Part 7
Bani was sleeping when her phone ringing. Jai was already up and getting ready. Now the days he doesn't wake her up early knowing she must be tired. He took the phone and saw a number which is unknown to him. He took the call and came to know ⌠Pia, she is in hospital in critical condition. It is from the hospital. He looked at Bani, she is sleeping like a baby. He decided not to tell her about it. He got out quickly and called Aditya and reached the hospital.
Pia is unconscious⌠she got severe fever and after the untimely abortion there is some complications with her uterus⌠they wanted to do a D&C and a laparoscopic operation to remove the infections and it needed a consent from someone close. Mohan was standing there in the corridor when they reached there. Another lady called Kavitha too was there. Mohan told them Pia was very reclusive from last couple of weeks, even though she was doing the job very well.. she spent most of the time inside the room. The previous day Kavitha, the aya for his 4 yrs old child went to call her for dinner they found her unconscious and holding a hospital card. That is why they contacted the doctor and as per her suggestion they brought her here.
Pia, changed a lot. She is not the old materialistic girl now. She stay in the out house of Mohan. Daily she play with his daughter, taking her to Park.. helping her studies⌠but she keep a distance from him and all men altogether⌠he also didn't feel like push her.. he understood that she need time.. but Pia become very close to his child Shruti. Pia was very smart in the job and was very much appreciated by the management. But she was not so modern.. she quit all the modern life style⌠permanently shifted to a jeans â loose shirt with a jacket dress.. Gave all her dresses to Kavitha asking her to give them to village girls if any one neededâŚ
Mohan told he didn't know that she was sick. After came here only he came to know the whole thing ⌠he somehow managed to take her to the theatre saying Jai will sign the papers when he comes⌠Jai told him that is not a problem⌠"I just don't understand , but why she had this..? " Mohan looked to Kavitha's face. She turned and looked away with a sigh. Mohan "Pia aborted the child in very later stage, I mean she did it risking her health. It is not done properly. And it caused all this infectionâŚ" he stopped abruptly when the doctor came out⌠she was stunned to see Jai⌠"Mr. Walia, is that you?" oh, I didn't understand when Mr. Mohan said Jai, Well, Pia is out of danger now, her fever is under control too, but I can't take her to room in two days time.." Jai, "thank you, you are sister of Bani's doctor , right? I got it from your face. " doctor "yeah, she is my elder sister, she will not leave your hospital Mr. Walia, I called her to join me here many time, but she won't come⌠" Jai "come on, now, let us have a good doctor there.. you are here know.." doctor⌠turned to nurse "bring the papers" nurse turned and went back to the theatre. "you have to sign the consent form, Mr. Walia" Jai "sure" nurse brought the papers and he signed it. doctor told that Pia will be O.K.. in two hours time they can see her once she opens her eyes⌠doctor gone with the nurse. Jai turned to Aditya, asked him to arrange the accommodation of Mohan and Kavitha in their out-house. Mohan told him that "we have a room allotted here, Jai, that is O.K." Jai "we will see, now you both go and take some rest. I will stay here." Mohan, "there is one more person", Jai wondered and looked around just to see the four year old girl is sleeping peacefully in a sofa on the other side of the room. He walked to her. He sat near her and touched her cheek, she opened her eyes⌠saw him⌠jumped immediately to his lap "Jai uncle, after long time, why you are not coming to see me? I am very angry with youâŚ" Jai "hey, I was busy dear⌠but I promise you I will come and see you frequently here onwards.. is that ok?" she nodded, her face gone sad , she kept her two hands on his cheeks and asked "uncle, uncle, why Pia aunty is not coming out from that room, she is gone inside there and not coming out⌠she didn't play with me⌠she always bring whatever I asked, but yesterday she didn't bring the rubber ducky I asked her to bath with me in the tub".. Jai was like what I will tell⌠he "Pia aunty got a fever, when her fever is gone she will come out to play with you.. if she is strong enough to play, now she is very tired and sick,,, that is why doctor kept her inside⌠"
Jai looked at Mohan⌠he was thinking about Pia and Mohan. They both changed a lot. Mohan looked in his non-shaving state like a worried lover⌠he is really worried , Jai thought. Jai "Mohan, you go home and take some rest. Have food and come back. Till then we will be heâŚ." He didn't complete the sentence he saw Bani, Massi, Rano and Rashi is walking towards them⌠he was like OMG, now what will happen⌠he couldn't think about seeing Bani again in tension⌠Aditya, Jai and Mohan passed worried looks to each other⌠they came near and Bani just went to him and straight into his open arms. She stood a minute like that and looked upto him. Mohan was surprised to see Bani so close to Jai. Massi "After you left, Bani came running down crying, see saw the number from Pia's doctor, she called back and came to know the details. She wanted to come immediately, so we thought we all will come.." Jai "it is ok, she is just fine now.. doctor just told she is under control.." he told what happened and what the doctor told and about Pia's change. "Bani aunty" Bani turned to the sound and saw a girl calling her.. Jai "Mohan's daughter, shruti.." Bani went to the sofa and sat near the girl. "I know you, Pia aunty told me about you and Rano aunty, a lot and lot, I saw your picture in her room⌠that is Rano and aunty, right? " she pointed to Rano. Bani nodded her head with tears in her eyes and hugged the girls. Jai came and sat near them and told "Pia and shruti were good company" Bani looked at him. The name Pia brought a shake in her when she remember her last words⌠but now when she saw the whole change she is somewhat trying to think that Pia may start to live a better life⌠she looked at Mohan then back to Jai. He understood what she is thinking. He pressed her hands and smiled.
That night all gone to sleep after dinner. Bani thought she will just go and check shruti, since she wanted to sleep inside the house she and Kavitha was sleeping in their guest room. There was no light in the room, and Bani thought they are sleeping. She turned back and walked, but only to stop hearing her name called by the girl.. she was not sleeping.. "I am not getting sleep bani aunty, shall I come out?" Bani took her by hand and walked out to the hall. Jai was watching it from upstair. Bani and the girl sat on the sofa. Bani kept her head on her lap and asked her what she wants now. Shruti told Pia aunty daily tells her lots of stories, that she misses her⌠"she told me you know lots of stories.. more than she knows⌠and you will sing well too, will you sing for me to sleep?" Bani said "OK, but you will promise me, you will sleep well." Bani started humming a song, softly tapping on the girls chest. The girl like so safe and in peace fell asleep even before she complete the song. Jai was sitting watching on the steps.. she didn't notice it⌠he came down⌠he picked the girl and walked to the room and put her in the bed. He covered her with a comforter and walked out⌠they both entered their room and closed the door. She sat on the bed keeping her legs straight. He "how come you didn't sing for me till now, that is not fair" she was if "what?" he "haan, you didn't sing for me !!!" he sat near her and lied keeping his head on her lap. "I want to hear you singing now" he hid his face on her stomach and started to talk "do u know your mom is going to sing for us, let us sleepâŚhellooo are you hearing meâŚ" she started laughing and jokingly hit on his shoulder and said "he is always sleeping, first wake him âŚ. " he "he?" he looked into her eyes. She, biting her lower lips kept quiet .. blushingâŚmoving her fingers through his hair⌠he "do u want a boy? Really!!!!" she nodded silently.. he "why?" she "i didn't see you as a young one. I didn't even see an old photo of yours" he looked surprised hearing it. OH no, another mistake⌠she is the lady of the Walia Mansion and she didn't see his collections⌠shame⌠he thought for a minute.. she "suniye, I just.." she scared.. thought she told something he didn't like⌠ohhh that old Bani⌠again⌠"haan, no, Bani I was thinking something else.." again looking at her⌠"if you like to have a boy no problem, if it is going to be a girl then also no problem⌠both are welcome.. " he placed a tender kiss on her stomach and got up and asked her to come⌠they went to the study⌠there he lead her near to a shelf which slide open and she⌠with an open mouth⌠a full shelf of neatly kept albums ⌠OMG she was thinking⌠"I didn't know" he "I am sorry, It didn't ⌠uffff just that no occasions came to tell this.⌠I don't usually look into this shelf.. so.." she "it is ok⌠can I look this whenever I get time, is that ok for you⌠it is your private place and I don't want to intrude .." he " Banee, no, don't start now⌠I have nothing private from you now. You are my only private property.. (he blinked his eyes, she blushed). This is your library too. Use it as yours. Now, I will show you only one album, that you can see my various versions, look this one.. " she "wow⌠" it was a baby picture of him in his mother's hand⌠she was kissing his forehead from the side and he is looking with his baby eyes to her face with his open his lips in cute way⌠she thought his baby will be looking like this. She kept it to her chest and looked at his face⌠tears ⌠he was all shy and smiling.. "hey, hey, you silly girl, for this also you are having tears⌠I can't believe it⌠is this the same girl who challenged me and tried to ran away from me⌠how long could you have gone away from meâŚ?" he hugged her tightly⌠she was like "I couldn't even place a step from you, that was the truth.. how could I when you intruded into my heart and start to live inside it?" he looked down lovingly into her eys. They walked back, she still keeping that album to her chest. At times like this he always feel like he is becoming a teenager boy who only flirt with this girl than doing any thing else in life. There was still more in different ages⌠and one around a 30 yrs old Jai⌠she looked at the photo.. he "do you think it was better you met me in that age?" she "this is a beautiful picture⌠but for me it is like I am seeing someone new, not you⌠I loved this man with little grey hair⌠and always roaring like a lion⌠staring as if he can burn me to ashes⌠shouting like ⌠what the hellâŚ" he blocked her lips.. she started laughing⌠he all blushed in silence⌠she said she loved the Jai she saw.. it is no fantasy or infatuation ⌠and she is sure he is more younger than her in his mind and she will try to keep him more younger as long as she is alive⌠oh what a lady⌠he couldn't stop the tears now that he just turned his face and looked away to hide the face⌠he knows nothing in his life is more valuable than her love⌠nothing can cure his loneliness and pain⌠the life entrusted on him was nothing so small but carrying on with the life just because of her love⌠unconditional love⌠God, help me, never let me hurt her again.. for I won't myself forgive me.. he silently prayed⌠she went to the bed and started turning each leaf of album with so much eagerness.
It is one month over now. They got up a morning hearing Tony's knock on the door. Tony "Sir, you have Mr. Mohan waiting for you down⌠" Jai "Mohan, how come he came today, that too so early⌠I will be down in no time.. give him tea, I am just coming" he looked at a surprised Bani⌠they reached down fast.. Mohan was talking with other family members⌠he told he was in town the previous night.. wanted to go back morning itself, but want to discuss something very serious⌠he told them that he wish to marry Pia⌠they all are like ⌠marry Pia⌠? Mohan "I know what you are thinking⌠no need to worry⌠things have changed⌠I already gave up al kind of play boy life even before Pia come there and had no intention of such things even after she came.. but now she has changed a lot, this is not the old girl I know⌠this decision I took after a long thought.. then shruti⌠we three will have a good turning in life if we are together⌠I talked to Pia, she agreed, and asked to come to pick her today morning⌠she wanted to join back in the job tomorrow." He looked into the shocking faces of the people sitting around⌠Massi and others, including Pushkar was like heard something unexpected⌠Pia was staying there as a silent creature all these days for one month.. she mingled with Massi, Dadi, Rashi and her sister and kept herself inside her room most of the time. She felt so much tensed to mingle with all of them. Mohan asked Bani is it ok with her that he is marrying her sister.. she told him it is not necessary for him to have her permission that Pia is capable of taking her own decision⌠still she is happy for them.. only thing Pia may need more time to recover her healthâŚ. He told her not to worry, she will be taken care.. but there is one condition that Pia put for the marriage.. everyone looked each other ⌠"she told to have a simple temple ceremony only⌠no party or no other functions⌠so we are planning that there in the temple after seeing the timing⌠I will inform you of the timing." Pia came down with her luggage, Tony took it from her and gone to the car⌠she took blessings from elders and with sad smile on her face.. in that jeans-loose shirt and jacket form.. Pia is the ghost of old Pia⌠who thought life is to enjoy every bit⌠money is the important thing in life⌠she walked with Mohan and everyone walked them to the car⌠she hugged Bani and looked into her face silently for a minute before getting inside the car. It was one final silent apology⌠Bani knows⌠Jai pressed his hands on her shoulder with a nod to Pia⌠he hugged Mohan and told him to take care of her..
Marriage was so simple⌠Pia in a pale green sari and Mohan of a sandal colour , they looked so matured and loving pair.. all smiling⌠Pia looks more healthy now⌠Bani blessed and told her whether she is going to have her own child or not, never let shruti down with her motherly duty⌠Pia promised her she will be a good mother to the girl⌠Shruti was so happy that she was running from one to another person⌠she become very close to all in the family very soon⌠she pulled all along to dance or sing or do something which entertain all others⌠Jai throw a part in favour of the new couple even if Pia resisted to the maximum, but she couldn't success. He even made arrangement to send them for a short vacation abroad leaving Shruti and Kavitha with them. Bani was thinking that she is much relieved than happy seeing the new Pia because now she knows Jai is free from her challenge. Jai also had the same feeling of relief. And all the others who know Pia's last words before she left last time.
Pia was thinking how much pain she caused to all those, how can they love her again like this. She understand how much influence Bani's love and care got in their lives. She really felt alone until Mohan came with this proposal. She looked at his face quietly. He in return as if "what is it?" like. Pia just nodded nothing. They are just landed in Dubai and is on the way to their hotel. She thought she doesn't deserve anything like this and was really feeling guilty even though Mohan was assuring her that she need not to feel bad any more. Mohan "Pia, what is the matter? Won't you tell me? If you are sad always then how can I ..? I would feel like I forced you to something you don't.." she stopped him "no, no⌠Mohanji, I was just.. , it is just that I still can't believe it all happened to me. Just trying to digest the truth.." he "my God, when something good happens then also you need so much time to accept it..? good joke⌠hey come on.. I want the old Pia who is smart and energetic.. " she just smiled to him.
They spent time in the hotel for freshing up and eating lunch. Then went out sight seeing, around the city seeing the majestic heights which decorated the city in different shapes and hights, in the back ground of sea water and greenish landscapes⌠she thought there is not much greenish in India like that even though this country is supposed to be in desert. She with a little hesitance did shopping with mostly for shruti. Mohan saw she picks up a branded cooling glass then kept it back.. how he feel like he got the old girl to cheer him up around who danced with him with a pair of mesmerizing eyes. After a while he came back to the same spot and order to pack them⌠it was so costly since it was decorated with two stones on it..
They had dinner at a friends place. They reached room by around 10. Pia was all tensed that even though the marriage was over they have not started the life together as Mohan insisted she need to recover fully⌠until doctor says she is ok he won't touch her. This trip also is very carefully decided after asking doctor. She changed into a light pink night gown and stood near the window overlooking the city. It was such colourful sight from their room. He came from behind in a white pajama and kurta. He wrapped his hands around her and kept his chin on her shoulder. He "some one is here, madam are you here? " she flushed and looked down with a smile and turned. He pushed her chin with his fingers "so shy, why, hey do I need to introduce myselfâŚ?" he stood like soldier saluting his superior. "Mam, I am Mohan, who got a chance to dance with you a while ago. Now I âŚ. " he pushed playfully on his stomach and laughed⌠seeing his artificial serious face⌠ohhh God, after long time he saw her laughing.. he took her hands and entwined into his⌠looked into her eyes⌠"we were not in love, and never thought to be in love, but now I know this was destiny kept for us. I got you for me and to love me. I never knew what is love and was just get on with whatever came to me. Now after I understood there is more than what I know about a life I really felt I have none to give me a company. We are almost in the same boat. I wish I am single , but shruti.." she put her hand over his lips⌠looking into his eyes.. "Shruti is my daughter, if you want me to introduce herâŚ" he pulled her into his chest with laugh and told "you took my weapon to beat me⌠haan so smart.. " they just starting their own journey⌠small small talks and small small pranks⌠they slowly continued their journey⌠with no hurry⌠with so much control over their own temptations.. they knew , for first time⌠there can't be a better match for them⌠that night proved, everything they feared individually about each other was so baseless⌠Pia was more than matured.. she was trying to do all duties with more care and love even though Mohan don't want her to do it when she was week⌠she was slowly coming back to the smart Pia he knows⌠she gave up the reservation when he was around at home⌠Kavitha also felt she become the real mother of the girl..
After a week in their own bedroom, Pia was sitting thinking something on the dresser chair when he came and stood near her. She didn't notice it. he was wondering what she was so lost in thoughts⌠he slowly touched her cheek with the back of his hands and she turned in shock⌠"where have you been traveling without bus fair, haan? Do you know it is illegal traveling without ticketsâŚ? " he smoother her cheeks with his hands⌠she slowly got up and just leaned to his chest without a word. He was like what happened? She looked up with tears and told "how much indebted to all of you? For I gave all of you only pain and disturbance.. today shruti told me âŚ" she stopped .. he "tell me, what she told? Did she hurt you?" she "no no, she didn't, she was telling me âŚ. About her friends having sisters and brothersâŚ" now he is stunned, he was like, there is something like that it never struck him till then⌠she "no, leave it, I was just thinking about her words⌠don't worry.. she is a small child.. " he "and you think I don't want another child, right? " he looked at her face as she kept her head down. He took her face in his hands and placed a kiss on her forehead. "how many kids you want, that is ok for us both, believe me. But you need to recover.. don't rush.. I want you to recover your full health. Don't think I will deny your needs" she just broken out and fell into his chest leaving with a shocked open mouth.. she was crying her heart out.. uncontrollably⌠he held her tight.. he knows, she was scared that her past will cost her all her happiness in life⌠more than regret it was fear that she lived with it silently ⌠he knows that he too was playful with life⌠is not a bit better than her if think.. he "sweet heart, please, you know I was also wrong in my life many ways⌠pls don't cry over something so silly⌠how could I deny you in any way.. what made you that way, haan? " he again tried to push her back and looked into her eyes. She wiped the tears and looked down. He wrapped his hands around her waste and led her to the bed. He "we need little more time. till then you have to be happy with we two kids at home" she told him.. she is not greedy to have her own baby..it is just⌠becoming a mother was a thing she thought she doesn't deserver.. after all her abortion .. the cruel thing she did in her life.. he said forget it.. no one can revert what happened.. we have to get on with life.. he is sure she won't do any such things again in life.. she just curled up in his warmth feeling life is not gone out of her hands.. it is still giving hope..
