What should be the SHELF LIFE of an ACTRESS?!

Should be assume that if you are 35, the SHELF life of an actress who does glamorous/masala roles is over?! 😕 Aish did it at 37. Preity is doing it at 37 in her upcoming Ishq in Paris! However, there was a difference. The films Aish did at 37 were not big hits. And Preity's film is not guaranteed to be a hit either! So, realistically speaking, if an actress debuts at 21/22, they have a shelf life of 12-13 years. Kareena seems to have a year or two left, Rani is approaching 35, etc. However, Vidya is still doing well! What should be the shelf life of an actress? Please share your thoughts...😲

I don't think Aishwarya's over yet. Compared to women her age, she's still in demand! If she gets back into shape, she can surely get great roles! But I think she's choosing to just be a mother right now.

Audience wants a change,Its entertainment and people like variety.Film makers have to mix it up and deliver something fresh every time!

Actors work with newer girls and actresses with newer guys..

That is where the problem starts..audience finds it difficult to accept older heroines opposite young studs..

The SHELF life of an actress is based on the BOX(office) hits. Bigger the box more room to shelve yourself.

It's sad that Indian actresses have an expiry date while the actors sail even in their 40's. These things can only change once the audience embrace different types of cinema and not only the commercially viable trends

Vidya succeeds because she's selecting good scripts and unorthodox cinema whereas the rest is stuck with the normal trends

IMO a person(man or woman) can look attractive and glamourous at any age. I have seen quiet a few glamourous 60+ grandmas. All these people took care to eat well and exercise to continue to look good. So why cant the same be applied of actressess? As long as they look attractive and elegant there should not be any shelf life in terms of glamour. And in terms of acting there is definitely no shelf life.

when it comes to acting abilities and the right roles, age should not be a factor. if guys can act after 40+, why not the girls? Its just a stupid stereotype. :/

Totally agree. In my country there is this famous defends lawyer she is turning 70 years old later this month and she is very glamorous and beautiful. It's all about how you take care of yourselves.
