I like your idea of the two parallel leads because that way it would have shown that women respond to such experiences differently. It would have also satisfied both the camps you mentioned above & brought diverse viewership to the show. 👍🏼

If they had to stick with one DV story, for me a middle ground would have been ideal. Yes I would have personally liked to see Jhanvi on her own feet first, before she finds love. However the CVs tried to combine stronger Jhanvi with trusting-a-man Jhanvi. I would have done stronger Jhanvi followed by trusting-a-man Jhanvi. As this is a work of fiction, I don't think there's anything wrong with a good dose of escapism even when dealing with such controversial subject matter. The knight in shining armor thing would have been fine, provided they showed Sia's character development ...but this has been compromised time & again which leaves people feeling nothing for the character. Its a shame because, had they given Sriti the opportunity she would have done justice to the character. I have no qualms in seeing a weak/scared Jhanvi, turn into an in-love & trusting a man Sia, to an independent, traditional wife - however I would expected there to be focus on how she got to those stages.

Some have an issue with Sia suddenly being so comfortable with Raghav. Yes I think they could have executed this better, (like maybe not jumping a year where their relationship would be developing); but I also feel that since Raghav's character is also unreal, its not a problem for me if she trusts him/loves him all of a sudden. I mean who in reality is that mahaan & would give-up/risk all that Raghav has for a woman?? So its perfectly plausible that the damsel in distress falls for the knight. The knight is unrealistic therefore the damsels feelings for the knight can also be unrealistic.

People watch this show for different reasons: some for their favorite male leads, others for some kind of social message. I watched the show because I was interested in Jhanvi's kahaani - which we all know was the last thing this show really ever focused on. Anyway whats done is done...

Thank you - I loved your structured view.
I think the CV's have compromised a lot for this leap that they were so adamant to have.

I honestly don't see the DV being dashed. I think they have justified and gave a solution.
Do u think by caring for V makes Raghvi weak. I don't think that - If anything I feel it makes them STRONGER.

@ Flutterby: I agree the CVs could have made use of Komal's character...but I was so shocked to find that she has been knocked off...and that too...without giving us a clue as to how or why...just that she had been murdered...Confused
@ Carisma: I never thought I'd say this about Viraj...but I actually feel sorry for him...😲 I mean..he should be punished for his crimes...but for him to be abused in turn...No. I don't know...it just didn't sit right with me. Geez...I can't believe I just said that...I think it's KVB's cutesie, child like acting that's getting to me...😆
Anyway I agree with you about Raghav...he's always stood for what's right...so I wouldn't consider him weak if he takes care of Viraj. I agree one would have to be really strong to forget the past and do so. Of course it is convenient that Viraj is his link to Rana...😆

Well said. The Komal Sia comparison would have brought in the much needed discussion on the various ways of dealing with DV.

@U: Yes, agreed. The 2, clear as daylight, options open for a woman outside of an abusive marriage.

cari... Do u think by caring for V makes Raghvi weak. I don't think that - If anything I feel it makes them STRONGER.

oye, cari.. where did i mention raghavi caring for v made them weak?? i am of the opinion that this caring for v track is boring and repititive... raghav and sia did care for v.. during his memory loss didnt they?? again now... they r shown caring for him..

@ummessulaiman... sorry dont know ur name... but i am of the opinion that the actress playing komal wanted to quit the show.. hence her character is being shown dead..now there is an article on harshad too wanting to quit this show.. so u can put two and two together on whats happening behind the scenes

i agree. every DV cases are different

when focus is on social issues like DV normally track sgould be created considering common issues in DV.
or
series of sotries and solution should created to handle different kind of DV cases.
but CVs failed to choose one of these and tried to focus DV and fiction togehter.

First of all, a big Thank You for the topic.
N this is the first tym I read all opinions in any topic discussion
I felt really proud that DSDDSB fans have really good view of looking at things, people n society.
Frankly, married or single, Sia's journey towards being a stronger women, with the help n support of society would have been appreciated move, if for just a week, they could have shown it in a great way..

Edit: actually parallel DV stories actually would have strained viewers mind too much
N c ek hi story mein sab bharenge toh dusra serial kahan se nikalenge? Kuch toh rakhna chahiye na
Anyway, it is important to show women in such problem, a smarter way out, on their own!
But sadly CV's dint do it..
Any ways, Sia taking care of child like Viraj, is a big step. Hope this track takes SB to a great level. Viraj who has forgotten everything, n behaving child like, may help Sia actually lead very normal life.
I always feel k Singh family needed mediacal assistance by Psychiatrist. Bt Baby Viraj may cure them all.

Hopefully they wont continue Viraj ka badla story, though I, as I mentioned in KaranVeer ka fan page, dont believe so..
