Rey got himself ready .. but wondered for the millionth time how he'd gotten roped into this. A bachelor auction was definitely not his style. But, he reminded himself, this was for a good cause.
He had put on a formal suit .. all the other guys had worn casuals … he shifted uneasily as the auctioneer continued his sales pitch. Should he smile? Pose? He just didn't feel comfortable up on stage with a blinding spotlight shining on him. He hoped he didn't look as nervous as he felt.
The auctioneer was driving up the bids—but all Rey could hear was the roar of the crowd as women yelled out numbers and cheered each other on. Squinting into the lights, he tried to make out who was bidding on him, but to no avail.
Then, before he knew it, the gavel sounded. He'd been sold! But to whom…?
The auction was arranged by some community .. for charitable purpose .. of bachelor entrepreneurs ..highest bidder would get 24 hours with the guy .. Rey was also sent the invitation .. he anyway had to give some money to charity .. but he didn't want to waste his time being auctioned by some random woman ..
So he set with his secretary that she would bid for him and win him ..
Rey believed only one thing .. work .. work was his passion .. his goal was to bring Reyaansh industries to the top .. he didn't believe in family .. relationships .. because he had never seen one in life .. his parents had no time for him .. he basically grew up in boarding schools .. hostels .. after that he set up his own business and just immersed himself completely in work .. but he enjoyed every minute of it ..
Women came in his life and went .. he didn't want anyone to stay .. he found them interested only in his money or fame or looks .. more over he never wanted to be attached to anyone ..
He was stepping down the stage and looking out for his secretary just hoping that she was the one who bought him .. he knew that she was busy whole morning setting an important meeting with the Tregan group of industries for a 5 year deal .. most of the meetings and discussions were done but this final meeting was required to seal the contract .. She had kept his business and life in order for him .. but was she capable of handling both the cell phone conversations for the meetings and the bidding .. he just hoped that she did ..
He finally saw his ever perfect secretary .. the Miss Prim Prom what he called her in his mind .. she was really good at everything she managed .. sometimes he really wondered whether she was human or a machine .. she always wore formal pants and top .. her hair tied in a high ponytail and a rimless spectacles on her thin but straight nose .. she was the no-nonsense kind of a girl .. and he really liked that about her ..if she disagreed with him on anything ..she was frank and straight forward about it .. she never minced her words for criticism or for appreciation .. an easy and vocal person .. she was so efficient .. he just dictated his instructions once and he would never bother to check because he knew she would take care of everything ..
She was working with him from past 1 year .. she had replaced his earlier secretary who was an elderly woman .. In the beginning he had his doubts whether she would be able to manage everything .. he needed his secretary to travel with him .. be available 7 days a week sometimes ..take calls at odd hours of the night .. he knew young girls were only interested in fashion and men .. so he was not sure when this pretty , young ,inexperienced girl who had just completed her education walked in for the interview to take her .. but his earlier secretary vouched for her .. and she in return proved her mettle from the very first day of her job ..
Now he could not think of running his business and life without her ..
She was sitting on the last row .. She was busy talking on the cell .. he could understand that she was still busy with the meeting arrangements .. he raised his eyebrows to ask if she was the one who bought him .. she showed him thumbs up … he was relieved …
He took her arm and pulled her outside .. he didn't want to waste another minute .. he opened the door of his limo for her .. and stepped in after her ..
Finally she concluded her conversation and smiled at him ..
"You have the meeting fixed for 9 AM on Monday "
He smiled .. he knew she would never fail him ..
She rattled off all the arrangements she had done for him and what is required from him for the meeting ..
He was satisfied .. so he sat comfortably flexing his arms .. and removed his blazer and pulled his sleeves up ..
"Oh .. I forgot to ask you .. how much am I worth ?"
"5 lac " she grinned
"Not bad for a living .. " he winked at her ..
Something tripped inside her .. she just smiled ..
"Ok .. set a brunch meeting for me on Sunday with the lawyers"
"No.." she quietly replied
"And then " he stopped mid way .. "What did you say " he just stared at her ..
"I said you are not going for any meeting this weekend .. you are going to be with me from Saturday noon to Sunday noon .. I didn't use the company check to pay for the bid .. I used my own money .. so you are mine for 24 hours " she managed to see him directly in the eye and say everything she had to .. she needed this confidence .. she was just holding her breath for his answer ..
Hell !!! she had waited for him for so long .. it was exactly 1 year and 14 days before when she had walked in for the interview and was hit by this Rey syndrome .. she had fallen for him the minute she saw him ..
But as she got to know him better in the days , months to come .. she realised she admired him .. she respected him .. and above all she had fallen in love with him ..
He in fact had never looked at her as more than a piece of furniture or machine .. she felt really sad sometimes about that ..
She had to let out her feelings to him .. it had been inside her for months .. she couldn't go on like this forever and some other woman would just go away with him .. she really wanted to show him the woman she was ..
When the invitation for the auction had come .. and Rey had asked her to bid and win him .. she had been toying with this idea .. she had used a major part of her savings to win him .. she knew if he said no .. she would have nothing more to do with him .. and she would leave this place .. this job and go .. she wouldn't be able to see him day in and day out after his rejection …
She felt foolish after she said what she said to him .. but she just couldn't help her feelings for him .. She had to know the truth however worst it was .. her heart at least had that much right .. she knew she had fallen for him the minute she saw him ..the same was not true with him .. but at least she can do the least is tell him about her feelings ..
After seeing him .. meeting him .. she started to believe that dreams just might come true for her too ..
Rey was flabbergasted .. he stared at her open mouth .. He'd seen Kria go without sleep when helping him close a big deal. She'd worked with the flu, through holidays .Once he had shown up at her apartment in the middle of the night, but she hadn't complained and offered him with coffee .
But he'd never seen her blush or look away.
"You don't have a life," she said. "There is nothing for you but Reyaansh Industries. You have no family, no social life. I want to show you that there's a whole world out there you need to acquaint yourself with." She had to make some excuse so that he would accept her offer .. she couldn't just let out her feelings to him here .. in this limo .. no .. she needed his full attention .. his time .. and his mind and eyes only on her ..
He had a life. A good life. Yes, work consumed him, but what else was there ? Rey wondered ..
"A nice thought," he said, "but not necessary. I'll reimburse you for the money."
"No."
"Kria, this is a busy time for me."
"It's always busy. That's how you like it. It's just twenty-four hours,Rey. It's the weekend, and the markets are closed. Everyone else is going to be taking it easy, so you don't have to worry about the business."
"What if I promise to take a vacation in a few months?"
She shook her head. "We both know you'd be lying. I'll pick you up tomorrow at noon. Dress casual."
She had been shivering in her knees during the entire conversation .. she didn't want her Boss to win this debate .. she had to get him out …finally she had done it .. one step towards her dreams .. maybe .. maybe not ..

Before exiting the elevator of Rey's penthouse .. Kria looked at herself the nth time and was still a bit nervous .. What if he isn't home .. what if he just plainly refused to come with her .. After all he had grumbled under his breath the entire previous afternoon complaining how he would be missing his work .. he was so passionate about work .. she wished if he was half that passionate about her .. the thought itself made her blush ..
When the door opened .. all her doubts vanished ..
Whenever she saw him in his formal suits .. her heart beat would race .. and when she saw him in his workout clothes .. which she had to see him because he worked out in his office gym and that time too he would give her some instructions or the other .. she would just want to throw herself on him .. but now dressed in jeans and a fitting tshirt …he just took her breath away …
"So what's the plan?" he asked as he stepped into the hall and closed the door behind him. "I've been thinking about this and figured you'd want to get back at me for all the nights I made you work late. Are you going to have me wax your car? Paint your living room?"
She thought of the elegant and expensive day and evening she'd arranged. "Not exactly."

Rey felt he was dreaming when Kria led the way to a beautiful yacht ..
On board the captain greeted them. "The boat was theirs for the next five hours. Where would they like to go?"
"How about cruising up the coast?" Kria asked.
As she spoke, a crewman opened a bottle of champagne and poured them each a glass. Rey took in the luxurious cabin, the elegant furniture and the tray of hors d'oeuvres beside the champagne and frowned.
He'd never thought she would come up with something like this. No other woman had done this for him …
He accepted the glass of champagne then followed Kria onto deck
While their yacht moved through the maze of boats Rey found himself more interested in the woman standing next to him than in the spectacular view. She looked different. For once he could see her curls bounce on her shoulders and not tied up.. she wore a beige coloured shorts with sea blue coloured top .. she had put on long earrings which were playing whenever she moved her head ...
He realized he knew nothing about her personal life. Just that she made his world rotate smoothly.
She turned and caught him staring at her. One corner of her mouth curved up in a smile.
"What?" she asked.
"Kria you are beautiful " He said .. in his mind he wondered how come he never noticed this woman ..
She blushed ..
"Why don't you come to office this way everyday ?" he asked ..
She looked up in his eyes .. the eyes which never failed to mesmerise her .. "How will you do your work then?" she never knew how she got the guts to flirt with him .. she bit her lip the minute she said this ..
He laughed .. "You even know to flirt with your boss… you are a surprise ?" as if reading her mind ..
Rey's voice rubbed against her like warm velvet. She had to consciously hold in a shiver, while she attempted a cool, sophisticated expression.
"I'm who I've always been," she told him.
His dark gaze never left her face. "Funny, I didn't notice."
Hardly news. "I'm like one of those multifunctional printers. Except I do more than print, copy and scan."
He chuckled. "Now that you have me here, what do you plan to do with me?"
She hated that her mind instantly flashed to the large master suite she'd seen when she'd toured the yacht before reserving it. The bed was large, and the amenities impressive enough to dazzle a prince...
But she'd never been one to make the first move ..
"I plan to show you a good time."
"What does that involve?"
"A few hours here on the water. You told me once you loved sailboats and you have great memories of it when you were taken on it from school"
He frowned. "How could you remember that?"
Because she remembered everything he said, everything he did. He was her world. This was either a do or die situation for her.. either she became his world or she would just pick the broken pieces of her heart and start life all over again ..
"You painted such a vivid description it just remained in my memory " she said instead, leaning against the railing. "So that's our afternoon. Tonight we're having dinner at a very exclusive restaurant. Then dancing at a club. Tomorrow—"
He threw her off by moving close and resting his free hand on top of hers.
"What about after dinner and dancing?" he asked. "Where will I spend the night?" he had this mischievous smile playing on his lips ..
She froze for a moment .. she didn't know what to answer .. as if hearing her prayer .. fate saved her from answering when suddenly dolphins appeared directly in front of the boat.
"Aren't they beautiful?" she murmured .
He leaned close. "If you're not going to tell me, you're going to have to show me eventually." He hadn't removed his gaze from her face for a second also ..

After they settled on chairs .. his eyes still on her ..
"Tell me about your family," he said.
She sipped her champagne. "If I start then my 24 hours would go in that ." she gave a short laugh ..
He seemed a bit confused ..
"Well we are some 15 of us who stay together .. my parents .. my grandparents .. 2 uncles .. their families .. our house is around 2 hours drive from here .. but now I stay alone in a rented apartment due to job"
"Everyone close?"
She looked surprised by the question. "Of course."
No doubt in her world, families stayed together, cared about one another. His world was very different.
He suddenly sprang the question "Why aren't you married ?"
She smiled "The one whom I wanted didn't ask me .. and the one I didn't want asked "
He wished he knew who had been refused and who had been foolish enough not to ask ..
"Dinner is formal .. you will get your tux in the master suite up" she said finishing her last sip ..
He was again surprised .. she had planned so many things for him ..
"What are you wearing ?" he seemed curious ..
She lowered her eyes .. "A dress"
His gaze never leaving her face .. "Long ?"
"No short"
"Low Cut ?"
She swallowed nodded and she had turned red ..
He couldn't wait to see her ..
Suddenly her phone rang
She seemed tensed while talking .. he was seeing the play of light and shadows on her creamy soft silky skin .. how come he never noticed her .. or he had but he never allowed himself to believe ..
She finished talking and looked at him with panic in her eyes ..
"Are you ok ?"
"I have to rush home .. there is some emergency .. "
"Oh .. "
"I can't leave you .. I have to leave for home directly "
"No issues.. you drive home .. I will take something from there to go "

They arrived at her house .. the minute the door was opened .. "SURPRISE !!!!" it was so loud that Rey almost jumped out of his skin ..
Rey was shocked as hell .. Kria was swarmed by loads of people .. she was drowned in their hugs .. Rey couldn't even see or hear her .. Everyone was chattering and talking at the same time .. no one was hearing anyone .. but everyone was just talking ..
He was standing a bit behind and just looking at the scene with and amused expression …
"What do you mean surprise .. you said some emergency was there .. Mom ?" Kria demanded when she could breathe a bit ..
"Dear .. its your b'day tomorrow and you called to say that you can't come home ..so we planned this " her Dad answered .. as her Mom had tears in her eyes seeing her daughter after so long ..
Kria was happy that her family thought of her so much .. they pampered her so much .. but somewhere her heart was sad .. what she had planned for herself .. was not going to be executed ..
In all this hue and cry .. no one had noticed Rey standing there .. One of Kria's uncles' daughters .. saw him .. she came close to him .. she gestured him to bend down .. as she was only 5 years old and just 2 ft tall .. he came down on his knees ..
"Who are you .. " she asked him with her hands on her waist ..
"I am your Kria Didi's boss" he smiled ..
But the little girl was not ready to easily shower her beautiful smile on this stranger ..
"You are the devil who doesn't let my Didi come home ?" she asked with an innocence that Rey just melted ..
"I am so sorry ,sweetie .. I will make sure she comes home whenever you want her to"
She gave him a wide smile ..
Kria had heard what happened .. now everyone was staring at both Rey and Pooja .. Rey picked her up in his arms and she happily was playing with his hair ..
Kria just felt so jealous of Pooja that very minute .. she had dreamed of moving her fingers thru those thick straight hair so many times ..
She was brought back from her trance .. when her Dad said .. "So he is the devil .. "
Kria turned red again .. She looked pleadingly at her Dad not to say anything more ..
But .. she knew her family .. they will never listen to her ..
Everyone in the family came and introduced themselves to him .. they hugged him .. they almost made him feel as if he was home .. he was surprised by the affection they showered on him ..
Rey understood that they had named him Devil .. he just couldn't help smiling ..

"Kria .. why did you lie that you had work and won't come for your B'day ?" her GrandDad asked her sternly ..
"Sorry .. we had some urgent work .. " she said meekly ..
"So .. he is the Devil who makes my grand daughter work like hell ?" he looked at Rey and said ..
"No .. Grandpa .. its not like that " .. she tried to soothe him ..
Rey felt guilty that because of him .. his work .. Kria couldn't be home with her loved ones .. "I am sorry .. I never realised this .. This won't happen again .. " he said looking directly in her Grandpa's eyes ..
The eyes softened .. he smiled .. "Its not that .. we have read about how your business is growing .. we are very proud that Kria is working with you " ..
They were just chatting when her mom came up with a cake and 25 candles on that ..
Kria almost wailed .. "Mom .. how can you do this .. why do you always put so many candles on the cake " she didn't want to face Rey .. she was so damn embarrassed .. she wanted to murder everyone .. here she wanted him to look at her as a woman .. but her family is making a baby out of her …
"Come on .. we do it every year ..for everyone .. so come here " she gently pulled her in her embrace ..
Rey had to swallow his laughter on seeing the candles .. he really found it funny .. but he knew this was love .. this was family which he had never got .. he looked at Pooja who was still in his arms .. she had put her arms around his neck securely and was almost going to sleep .. he felt a tug in his heart .. he had convinced himself that he missed nothing in life .. but was that true ??
As Kria blew the candles .. she looked at Rey .. he was also looking at her smiling .. she cut the cake and fed her Mom and Dad .. and everyone was just waiting for her to finish this .. and they pounced on the cake and lavishly applied the cream on her face … on her hair ..
Kria could do nothing but stand and let herself be the clown of the evening .. one thing she loved was that she could see Rey smiling throughout ..
Her uncles ggave her a doll as a gift .. she just couldn't believe how much more embarrassed she is gonna be made by her family in front of Rey .. she just laughed at her fate ..
Kria's mom gave Rey a gift too .. he was so touched by her affection .. "You have come for the first time to our house .. " she said and smiled ..

Since the back gate of their house led to the beach .,.. after the dinner .. the whole family except for the kids and grandparents went to the beach .. they made a bonfire and were singing ..dancing and enjoying away .. they had taken their sleeping bags and tents too .. this was their family way of enjoying the night out ..
As the night progressed .. almost all of them slept ..
Kria couldn't sleep .. she walked away from the family and went towards the water .. As there was low tide .. she went till her feet were in water ..she just stood there in the moonlight and looked at the shimmering water ..
Tears were trickling down her eyes .. she had enjoyed her time with her family ..she missed them so much when she was away ..she knew they missed her too .. but today she wanted something else for her .. she wanted to spend time with Rey .. and now she knew that she would never get his time again .. he would again go back to his work and be busy ..
Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulders .. she turned to face him .. and tried to wipe her tears ..
"You ok ?" he had noticed her tear stained eyes ..
"Ya .. Ya .. I am fine " .. she tried but she burst out sobbing … she hid her face in her palms ..
"Hey .. Hey Kria .. what happened .. ?" he was confused .. why is she crying .. He held her close to him .. trying to comfort her ..
Kria couldn't control her feelings anymore ..she was in his arms .. she felt right .. here was where she wanted to be .. " I am happy .. I love my family .. they do so much for me .. but everything else is ruined ?"
He was more confused "What's ruined ?"
"Our day .. I wanted to spend the evening with you .. dinner .. then dancing .. I spent more than half of my savings on the yacht , the dress .. and buying you at the auction .. I wanted to be beautiful for you … I wanted to show you that I am a woman and not some piece of a furniture "
"What about the thing that I should take a break from work?"
"I lied"
He pulled himself back a bit to look at her face .. he studied those watery eyes in the moonlight which made them shine .. her face glowed in this serene night .. "Then as your Boss you would be dealt with severely "
Her eyes widened with shock .. she couldn't believe what was happening ..
Rey took her face his palms and tilted his head a bit .. and was nibbling her lower lip.. his warm ..tender lips teased hers with sensual gentleness and she felt as if she was melting against him .. he brushed her lips with his tongue .. she instantly closed her eyes and gave in .. she parted her lips and allowed him to enter her .. she felt his tongue playing sweetly and making her want him more .. he claimed her passionately .. she could feel his love .. his desire .. his need for her .. as much as her own ..
They parted and he looked deep in her eyes.. "I mean to have you .. but not tonight " he said and brushed his thumb on her lower lip ..
She was shivering under her touch .. she couldn't believe what he was saying .. wasn't this happening too fast ..
He made her walk to where the sand was there and they both sat down ..
He pulled her close .. her head resting on his shoulder .. his left arm around her ..playing with her hair .. and with the right hand he took her right hand and entwined her fingers with his .. he kissed her hand and kept it close to his lips ..
"Kria .. I am not like you .. I didn't grow up surrounded by a loving family .. I never knew my parents … My mother never had time for me .. the other women who came in my life were just there for a short flings .. somehow I just lost faith in relationships .. but seeing you .. meeting you family ..I really felt I missed all this so much .. I want all this for me .. "
"You mean a lot to me .. more than you can imagine " she said softly .. taking his hand and kissing the back of it ..
"I know .. did you really empty all your savings for me .. to arrange our day together ?"
"Hmm"
"You didn't have to impress me .. you could have simply told me the truth ?"
"When ..where .. during meetings … you would have thought that I have gone crazy "
"Hmm .. I guess I needed time to get out to really see you .. "
"When did you realise that I was not just a piece of furniture ?"
He shrugged. "I think I've always known, but I never allowed myself to acknowledge the information. It would have interfered with business."
"And now?"
He grinned. "Business be damned."
He glanced at the beautiful woman sitting next to him. "I was the fool .. whom you wanted to ask you .. right ?"
"It has taken you over 1 year to notice. That doesn't make you clever." She smirked ..
"I don't want to lose you," he said.
"I don't want to be lost." She gave a peck on his lips. "I'm right where I belong."
He looked at her again .. "I want to give my secretary some instructions .. "
Kria was surprised .. she pulled herself back to look if he was joking .. no he was serious ..
"Please cancel all my appointments for the next 2 weeks .. I am going to be busy .. "
She raised her eyebrow .. she was confused ..
"I want to woo a girl to be mine forever .. "
She bit her lip and turned a shade crimson .. she lowered her eyes .. she couldn't imagine that her dreams had come true ..
She felt him slowly lifting her head to make her look in his eyes .. She could see what she had been longing to see .. his deep love for her ..

At the end of 2 weeks ..
"Kria .. I can't wait anymore .. today is the last day I can take off from office .. I have to resume tomorrow and you too .. "
Kria giggled .. "Boss patience .. patience .. " she winked ..
"I have taken you everywhere .. done whatever my mind could think of .. and whatever my heart wanted for you .. but when will you wear that dress .. I want to see you in that "
Kria blushed .. Rey had been more than a perfect lover .. Kria couldn't have asked for anything else .. he took her each day some place new .. they had been fishing together .. they went for movie .. they went for long drives .. walked hand in hand on the beach .. dancing in pub .. small coffee shops .. road side restaurants .. candle light dinners .. he sneaked in at her apartment to surprise her with flowers and gifts ..
Now today their last day of his 2 weeks vacation from office they were in a cozy restaurant .. they had just arrived for a quiet dinner .. a small fireplace was in the centre .. the music was playing softly .. they had the corner table for themselves ..
Rey was looking intently at Kria .. his hand over hers .. caressing it .. even his eyes were caressing every part of her body where the gaze fell ..
"I will just come .. " she walked to the washroom ..
Rey was looking outside the window .. just thinking about how these 2 weeks passed with his Kria .. he couldn't imagine his life without her now .. he had enjoyed so much with her .. she complimented him in every way .. she was funny .. sensible .. s*xy .. caring .. a perfect companion ..
"Rey .. "
He turned to the husky voice which just called him .. his jaws dropped the minute he saw her .. she had changed in the dress which she had bought for their day out on the yacht .. his eyes just couldn't get enough of the sensuous lady standing in front of him .. he had imagined how she would look in that dress when she had described it to him .. but he did agree that his imagination was nothing infront of the sight which beheld his eyes ..
She stood near the table for him .. she found the desire .. the passion burning in his eyes .. she found his eyes moving over her body caressing each and every part of her .. taking in as much as he could .. for a long moment their eyes were locked in each other .. then it slid to her lips .. then to her shoulders which were seen in her black off shoulder dress … his eyes lingered on her valley which had enough view to make any man go weak in knees .. then to her perfect curves which were moving with her heavy breathing .. then to her petite waist line .. her hips which were hugged to the dress .. then to the end of her dress which was above the knees .. her slender legs standing on the pencil heels ..
The dress was like a second skin to her body .. it was just perfect ..
She slowly sat on her chair .. aware of the need which was growing in Rey's eyes .. she herself hadn't imagined his reaction ..
They both didn't even realise when dinner was served .. they were just looking in each other's eyes ..

Rey kicked the door of the master suite of the yacht which Kria had booked earlier to close behind him .. as his hands were exploring the beauty in his arms .. he could feel her even with the dress on her skin as it was just a thin layer .. they both had somehow managed to keep their hands off each other till they came to their suite .. Rey had booked the yacht for the 2 weeks .. but they hadn't come on any of the days .. but today was the most special evening .. he had to get her ..
They were kissing each other senselessly .. Kria was holding on to Rey for her life as she was breathless already with him licking every part of her face .. her neck .. her throat .. she somehow threw off her heels .. and unbuttoned his shirt .. while doing so they fell on the bed .. with Rey on top of her .. she wanted to see his broad chest .. his back .. which her hands were enjoying so much .. but she was so consumed with passion that her eyes were not ready to open .. and with Rey's tongue all over her she was moaning with pleasure .. her mind going blank .. she pulled him up to her lips .. with her hands in his hair .. initially fiercely kissing him to show him her desire .. she went on to bite his neck .. his throat .. only to find him growl as he was totally aroused by her .. she finally came up and slowly enjoyed his lips to the fullest .. nibbling his lower lip .. tasting him .. their tongues mating with each other .. and again their kiss became passionate ..
In the full fury of passion .. Rey pulled back for a second to see her flushed face .. "Kria .. Kria .. please marry me " he was breathless but he managed to say ..
Kria snapped opened her eyes to see him looking at her with intent anticipation..
"Yes " she lowered her eyes .. she hadn't expected him to propose her so soon .. she was blushing to the core ..
