The arguement against this song - rey singing this song was that it wasn't his first love. I agree whole heartedly- everything , everyline in that song was true for rey except the pehli baar hua.

And the first thing that my mind did was to blame the CVs for bad song selection till i sat and watched it again.The song wasn't for tarey at all. It is a totally Swayam/ Sharon centred song except that rey was singing it from both sides- Sharon s and swayams. The lines that he does sing in front of taani were extremely appropriate except for the line pehli baar hua

But if we look at it from d3 point of view- it was a well executed song for swayam/Sharon – beautiful actually. Well brought out the emotions in rey. And the simple joys of simmi/nil-- amar/ rinni. What it didn't do was focus on neha- which it could have done. Neglected Vicky/neha , gok why.

The best part of the song was actually the three of them standing side by side – all of them with tears ready to flow – swayam bcoz he thinks hes broken up- Sharon bcoz she thinks swayam thinks hes broken up and rey bcoz he s accepting the fact that taani matters so much more than he is ready to accept and he cant do anything about it- he let her go out of his hands himself. The song suited this part well.

And the most important part- TAANI WAS COMPLETELY NEGLECTED IN THE SONG- where were her feelings shown at all??? Less than a minute.

Idk, a little hesitant now to consider this my tarey song –hopefully the CVs will give us a entirely Tarey song...where even taanis feelings are shown more openly. We don't always want to see her from reys pov you know.

All dimaakhwaala analysis apart- i grinned throughout the song and played it in my head a 100 times. So i do like it a lot... 😃
