My interpretation here is when he came back to mandap he came back to khushi. but still he didnt have his answers. his mind and heart were still strugling. that is what he said to khushi. but when khushi was about to faint and he held her in his arms, he had what can be called as a moment of truth. nothing was more imp for him than the woman in his arms..who despite everything loved him unconditionally, waited for him in the mandap when everyone had given up hope. she was this shining diamond in the necklace of his life. same thing he said to hr that making him stand there with her in his arms he got all the answers. he was clear what he wanted in his life. dhoka nafrat jhoot or unconditional love, he choose the later. he was ready to letgo of his past, yes in that one moment, just like khushi had done for him. just like his mother had advised him to do.

Again the cvs have actually left this aspect unanswered it can be as good as anybody's guesses. But i choose to believe he is really a changed man who is ready to letgo of his past and look forward to his bright future with his lade love.
