Hrithik and you are history...
"I hope we aren't and I hope we work together some time soon again. When I read my fan mail and speak to movie buffs around I realize that people are dying to see Hrithik and me on-screen again. Some even say that in the last decade there hasn't been a pair as fresh and lovable as Hrithik and me. We're like the perfect candy-floss screen couple. I hope we come back together and recreate the same old magic."
Our film industry is male-dominated...
"The industry will remain male-dominated. The audiences are largely loyal to their screen heroes. That's the way they've always been, and that's how they will remain. At the end of the day they want to see the man playing a hero on-screen. There are many women-centric films nowadays, yet, it's the actor who sells a film, and movie-goers will spend more money on him. Distributors ride on top-notch actors and sell the film solely on their merit. C'mon, that's the way it happens even in Hollywood, where they have far more educated and up-scale viewers. They have a few rare films like Erin Brokovich which gets the basic recognition, then nothing on those lines for so many years. I guess it's the same all over the world."
Audiences are accepting bold themes, even extra-marital affairs...
"I think there's a big shift in audiences' mindset after multiplexes have opened up. There's a split in the viewer ship patterns. There's always a film that caters to a particular niche. Filmmakers have a variety of subjects to work on. It's a great time for actors because we can quench our creative thirst by doing different kinds of roles. Today we can have a Page 3 , Black , K3G, Ankahee , Tathastu and have audiences taking a keen interest in it. Even a film like Teesri Aankh drew interest, so you can imagine."
Going Westwards....
"No not yet. I am very rooted to Bollywood now."
Ameesha Patel is the 'no make-up' actress...
"Personally I would love to be without any make-up all the time. I love simplicity in dressing, I've sported the same long hair for ages and I love it that way. I've got most appreciation for my sans make-up look, this encourages me to flaunt that look more."
Akshaye Khanna is a ladies charmer...
"He's an amazing guy. He's evolved so much as an actor, with every film you see a better Akshaye Khanna. I've worked with him before in Humraaz , so I already share a good rapport with him,so it didn't take us much time to slip in to our characters in Aap Ki Khatir. "
